The WM main event was insane. It concluded a 14 month storyline, that had used the previous Mania main event as a stepping stone. It had callbacks to recent rivalries (Jimmy/Jey and Cena/Solo), a rivalry from about a decade ago (Cena/Rock), and over two decades ago (Rock/Taker).
I think you’ve really under sold Backlash, the crowd alone made it incredible but the opening tag match was really good, Womens triple threat was great, main event was arguably WWE match of the year too
the crowd made it worse.

The PPV itself has a certain glass ceiling. It's after WrestleMania and the majority of its matches are predictable fillers (although great from a workrate standpoint).
@HJ10113 no it doesn't. They were just screaming to hear themselves, and trying to be the stars of the show. Puerto Rico only had wrestling cheers and cheered the action, that's a good crowd.
@@agentorange1156 they were chanting about the 3 counts every time (every crowd chants during the counts), they were singing a song for AJ Styles which was great and they sang Cody’s theme song with no track
I think interesting that the lowest PLE are the ones before the major event PLE (WM and SS). Kind of like they have to arrange the atmosphere a certain way for the major PLE. Maybe it's the veggies before the main course? if that makes sense.
Yeah they probably need to be more safe and predictable. But either was EC I think was gutted due to injuries and they tried to salvage it, still wasn’t a good show but makes sense. Money in the Bank just had bad booking imo.
I can appreciate people are upset the crowd in France wasn’t mentioned (on this video) however keep in mind this is purely based on the quality of the matches and how it progressed stories.
It’s also John and Dante’s opinion and tier list. You can join in, have your opinion too of course, but to outright call out their (non existent) ignorance over crowds which isn’t even a contributing factor to this tier list (could be for others though!), is wild.

Horrible reasoning. If a bad event like WM27 had a crowd like France would it suddenly be S tier? Backlash was good, but don't put it in S tier because of a 'good' crowd.
@@Shane3125 Holy shit I'm losing braincells... don't fucking assume I put Backlash in S Tier solely cuz of the crowd. The matches were all great and the matched in the event itself was worthy of A Tier, I put it in S Tier because the crowd gave it an extra boost.

Unfortunately since we know it’s scripted, that impacts our opinions. And judging the decisions is what makes the difference in if it’s liked or not most of the time.

Mens rumble was underwhelming becouse of the huge possibilities
Womens rumble was pretty good this is at most B tier

A lot of people say WrestleMania 40 was one of the best of all time. Personally thought a lot of the matches were lackluster. Both Main Events I did enjoy a lot. The IC title match was good alongside the Iyo/Bayley match. Although short it was still good the Drew/Seth match. Honestly just wished that match was a bit shorter. Overall it’s like 7/10.
It probably had to do with some matches I was looking forward to falling hella flat and that Kross match being wack AF.
@@AdrianC0421 my first live Mania in attendance and possibly the only one I'll ever attend so consider that bias. I would rate 8 of the matches from Mania 40 as "great." Those are both women's title matches, both men's world title matches (plus cash-in), IC title, US title, tag ladder match, and Rock/Roman vs Cody/Seth. Not everything hit, but there was enough great stuff imo to put 40 in the all-time discussion. Especially considering the Night 2 main event might be the greatest ever.
Every WWE PLE so far have been good to great. I really liked the format of less matches that go longer, similar to how NXT Takeovers are built.
Something about Dante in glasses is really attractive to me. 10/10 ❤

It’d be cool to see these types of tier lists around/right after significant WWE gimmick matches/events. (Example: with Summerslam coming up, put together a tier list of Summerslam main events from the last decade). Just an idea, obv adjust it however you see fit. Regardless, keep up the content! Money in the bank was soooo bad...so many botches, the cashin was a waste. Main event was mid. Womens match was good but botchy, sami winning was good considering he just beat Gunther and almost beat Roman. Damien vs Rollins took abit to get going but the pin botch was bad
Clash at the castle is a C ple
Chamber was better than y'all gave it credit should have been an A. Judgment Day vs New Catch Republic was one of the best Tag Matches in awhile & The Women Elimination Chamber match might be top 3 chamber matches of all time mean or women. Backlash was an A, because of the Crowd.

Unpopular opinion but I loved Money in The Bank , I would put it at A
WHERE'S THE NXT PLEs? EVERY WWE PLE MY ASS. WHAT IS NXT NOT WWE ANYMORE?
Two things I want to bring up:
1. People have already brought it up, but backlash should be an A with the great crowd they had. That AJ vs. Cody match still gives me chills whenever they are chanting so loud that the camera is shaking.
2. Speaking of re-watching wrestlemania, yall should do a video re-watching events like WM together with PIP of your commentary/reaction.. unless that's copyright?

The rumble matches have been very lackluster with one-off returns in recent years which was always the best part. Too many enhancement talents that get no pop from the crowd (which is also Def Rebel’s fault)
