I disagree with you because I've seen her perform hundreds of times and what you'll notice is she always keeps her timing. This concert is a specific exception because she's not just performing by herself but with the accompaniment of 70,000 people. That changes things. She's waiting for the audience to say silence and you can hear how there's even an echo because they're not in sync themselves. She's slowing down a little to allow them to participate without rushing them. If you observe her performing for tv, she never messes up. One of the best live performances I've ever seen of hers is her Interviews and performances for "Live at the Grammy Museum in 2015" where she performed four songs accompanying herself on piano or guitar: Out Of The Woods, Blank Space, Wildest Dreams and How You Get The Girl. These are some of the best versions of these songs you'll ever hear. Especially Wildest Dreams. So good. There isn't one flaw in any of the performances - timing, playing, singing - all a masterclass of sheer perfection.
She also feeds off of the crowd so the tempo can change.. And she sings with emotion.. Which can also change the tempo.. She's a storyteller.. and she feels her words.. she's lived them.. So masterful with her lyrics..

Lena would talk to her about Jack, and Taylor would always wonder what it was like to have a relationship like theirs, where youre with your best friend and so at peace and calm in your relationship. Thats what inspired this song, seeing these two people she loves experience a love she had never experienced herself. This is one of my favorite songs period. Makes me cry and idk why, just really hits that emotions bone lol.
“Great use of the pause” just reminds me of the last LA Eras show, she holds for applause after Champagne Problems and one of the items on Swiftball is guessing how long the audience will cheer, and that got her longest one of the tour so far it was over 8 minutes 🥰

Oh yeah! Ronan is a very beautiful but SAD song about the TRUE STORY of a child with cancer and the way she tells his story in that song, it tears your heart. Especially when she sang it in a live performance for a foundation to help cancer patients, in 2012 or 2013, that at the end of her performance you can see her crying, (perhaps since she started singing and until the end she looked affected).
