I really think that Holy Priest is the best all around designed healer spec in the game outside of class spec. All off its buttons make sense, the holy word mechanic is engaging, there's a very clear single target vs aoe heal gameplay, the damage rotation is simple but very fun and both hero specs bring something fun to the table while offering a simple and more complex choices. I wish all healers had the same level of synergy because I think that a few healers still have odd cool downs and a few dead talents that still offer nothing (Chi Wave is still a joke VS Halo becoming an iconic ability with an entire hero talent around it).
At first I kinda wrote off Oracle as a lot of work, but my interest in it has been climbing. Looks to be one of the most interesting hero trees and I like how it offers a way to increase the skill ceiling of your class. A simple Lightweaver playstyle is nice and cozy, but coupled with the lack of CC/interrupts priest can really feel underwhelming at times in M+ in terms of giving you the feeling you are playing to your max. I'll be maining rShaman in M+ upcoming season, but will be healing as holy priest in raids Anyways, really good videos btw. You really sell each class in terms of excitement and offer a pretty in-depth look into what each healer consists of. Would love to see videos later down the line where you give a review of each healer near the end of the season, changes you'd like to see, maybe interesting ideas to change the playstyle of the class. For Instance I personally think a Prayer of Mending Disc playstyle could be cool for a S2 tier bonus where it has Atonement interactions, maybe some damage components to whichever target triggers a PoM. There's def some room for talent changes in Disc's tree to accompany the playstyle a bit (looking at you Contrition!). PoM is just a very cool spell and I loved the Holy tier set in S2 of DF!
I'll definitely start off with a simple Archon build so that I can focus on learning the new dungeon and raid encounters, but later on I'll try out the more complex options such as Divine Word and Oracle. It's great that priest has so many options - I just hope they're close in power.
Was considering resto shaman because people are saying how strong it is, but you made holy priest sound so fun, haha. I'll have to try both out and see which one I can do better with in dungeons. thanks for all the content!
When I was a healer main, I played Shammy and MW. I always liked Holy, always wanted to main it, always saw others just killing it as a Holy but I never felt I was doing it right. My numbers were never great. It used to be exactly my style of healing, which is reactive vs. anticipating. Every xpac i'd play and think.."man, this is for me!" but then I'd wonder what i was missing, what i was doing wrong, like there was something really obvious i was missing out on. Loving me Oracle. Just so much going on with that 'one' spell, and so many ways to use it. Holy Priest was always fairly straightforward. Nothing too flashy, but always effective. The Premonitions via Oracle give us so much flexibility, and fun spell synergies that the class desperately needed. I always loved raiding on Holy Priest, but with the new super cool Halo stuff, and Oracle; I can't WAIT to get in there. Now if they would just give us a kick (or let Chastise interrupt if the target cannot be stunned; I'll take that all day). :)
I'm still so torn between evoker and priest, i mostly play with pugs so priest got me so far in the past 3 add ons and i just love being able to give a friend PI. While i love to push M+ as high as possible, i'm raiding with a casual guild so priest usually was the go-to pick there, as many people are spread all over the world in raids and i hit many 20% of the raid as evoker 😂 Oracle really got my hyped up and finally seeing someone in a video who is just as amazed by holy as i am right now just makes me wanna play it even more xD idk it just feels so natural to play. Pres Evoker got really nice dps, can interrupt and can take almost every debuff off someone and the right stasis combos can just simply heal every mechanic and you look so cool as a dragon. I wish one character could just be able to play any class like in FFXIV, so i can switch whenever i want to. I have never been that unsure of if i should play Priest or not than right now

i know i'm beating a dead horse but after playing a ton on beta the lack of a kick feels more relevant now than ever. Kicks are king again, stops are still valuable but I can count on one hand in each dungeon mobs that are stoppable but don't recast (based on my experience obviously).
honestly, i'd rather have Mass Dispell cd timers like they were at the start of DF than an interrupt, I feel like an interrupt, while it does make us more competitive as a selection, is just something else to manage

I would love to see a more in depth guide to oracle in dungeons/m+ from you. I struggle a bit to fully utilize the buffs, because I dont know if its better to hold up to certain buffs for certain pulls/bosses/mechanics etc. or mainly use premonition on cooldown and hope the needed premonition effect is up when needed. @@seluhir8820 no healers have it, but spells don't deal dmg, instead spells make it so you do 0dps for 8 seconds.. so it punishes the dps/people with interrupts when they dont use it
Every class in the game has a kick except priest, so unless you're playing with a spriest, 4 people in your group will always be able to kick. This should usually be enough.

I'd like to point out with fade, it can take some time to really get a feel for the aggro reduction so if you are new to holy priest, go out in the world and play around with fade to get a feel for the aggro reduction. The worst is bricking a key because you thought you could walk past that pack and you were 1 yard too close
I mean....you rarely come across a scenario where you need to run past mobs by yourself and Fade is somehow the difference maker. Brackenhide Hollow is probably one of the only exceptions where Fade and Mind Soothe can be combined to shave a few precious seconds in very high keys by doing most of the cages while the group gets to skip most of the mobs on the way to the first boss. Most of the time it's just a button you pop when you see mobs run towards you/your health bar flashing red from aggro or when you want a DR; you aren't missing out on a lot even if you completely forget about the aggro range component of Fade.
@@cat-vv9xb I know it's rare, but nonetheless its something to keep in mind. im not saying its a huge priority, just mentioning it as one of the only things that holy has you might need to actually practice.
I haven't played holy priest since Legion, and my AoE healing feels really weak. Sanctify PoH and PoM were really strong in Legion but right now in TWW, it feels like due to the forced inclusion of CoH, Halo, Holy Nova, and Salvation, the AoE healing power budget had to get spread really thin among all of it. AoE healing in dungeons feels like its just smart management of Trail of Light, and I'm not sure how much I enjoy it. The Oracle tools definitely spice it up, I like having Velen's again and another external, so we shall see how this plays out.

Id adivse youn to play resto shaman if u are gonna pug so that u can carry the runs with ur kick as a priest u rely on the pugs to get the kicks and thats sometime to much to ask for
This video made me consider holy priest even more. I'm hesitating between hpriest and rshaman (which was my main all s3&s4 of df) because I think i'm going to miss my sham interrupt with hpriest. Imo I think disc and holy should have an interrupt of like 40-ish cd and pi just like shadow priest. I dont get why shadow priest is the only priest spec to have an interrupt while the devs have said that "pi was enough and having no interrupt would balance priest's utility"... why does shadow have an interrupt then while the other two are the only healers to have 0 interrupt whatsoever then ? Anyway great video !
I’d say it’s not the ideal target. It will up their personal damage, and the speed at which they put out their buffs, but not actually improving those buffs. A mage, warlock, or any other caster would likely benefit more overall damage.
Played without watching hpriest spoilers and i am in love with the new lightweaver oracle playstyle. Archon looks good for raid. And the class fantasy makes me cream.
I’m in between Druid and holy priest. I think I am now leaning to holy priest 😂. The only thing that bothers me is I don’t want cast angelic feather on others. Will I be blamed in a raid or mythic? 😅
I’ve been back n forth on frost dk, Druid in general, shaman in general. Druid/shaman because I can heal if needed. Druid hero trees kinda meh but I still enjoy Druid. Only a few days to pick
as someone who played a lot of priest in season 3 and some in season 4, no one has ever even brought up feathers to me not once, and honestly? im convinced most players dont even know what they are cuz the amount of times that unless the feather is DIRECTLY on them...they just..like ignore it? lol
I don't really know wow streamers but every time i come to checkout heal stuff, its basically the same, Jak with priest, jdotb with druid, ellesmere with pala, moad with disc, megasett with mistweaver. In the end i think these guys will have those classes as "main" every expansion.
Holy priest as a class is super fun to play... but I just wish the hero classes weren't so incredibly boring. Without a doubt the least interesting hero trees in the game, for me. But... the class is still my favourite, so I just have to live with it.
@@AutomaticJak It sounds unnecessarily finnicky and basically forces you into relying on an add-on to tell you what to do, but... we'll see. I'll try them. I just have low expectations tbh.
@@ThePolarpop Druid trees may be poorly balanced, but they're MOSTLY thematically really cool at least. IMO the druid trees can be fixed by balance changes, while the holy priest trees would need to be rebuilt from a conceptual stage to be interesting.

@@Giliver sure if the tank/dps who don't interupt have to then stop dps and heal the dmg.. or if blizzard changed spells to not do dmg, but make its so the target does 0dps for the next 8 sec instead so i dont have to worry about healing and dps are punished not me. i NEED kick/cc on healer so i can make my gameplay more fun/easier.
It wasn't mentioned (probably intentionally, because it is what it is) but Renew does reduce the CD of Holy Word: Sanctify. They could do with increasing the amount it does since it's only 2 seconds. It's definitely not the most efficient use of a spell the vast majority of the time, but it is there. XD (Please don't take it away)
I was playing hpriest in season 2. I've struggled a lot with pugging. Unless you have a team or it's meta playing hpriest is mostly waiting. I was so tired with it that I've skipped season 3 lol
The more I hear about hero talents, the more I think it just adds a layer of complexity to all classes which will be mastered only by top players and be frustating for others. Thanks for the video anyway, always nice to watch your productions.
Most of them thankfully have a passive version and an active version. Archon is cool but doesn’t really change what you’re doing. Oracle definitely does

Till you play one and can't even get in m0 cause no interrupts, unreliable fear, very squishy, no poison or curse dispels, md is worthless, and mind soothe useless. Now I'm not saying it's weak. I loved using flash concentration in shadowlands, and sure if your known, like jak, sure you'll get into groups. But on the high end where people rely on the healer to help with utility, your just a heal bot that'll get one shot by most bosses. So yea, why play holy when you can play shaman.
You can have nearly perma uptime on 20% DR and +40% health on a 1.5 min cd, it's not bad. With maybe some good usage of the shield oracle cd you should be able to survive.
I swear to God Jack won't stop till every one plays holy priest.

That's alright the 4 other people in your dungeon will have kick, surely that should be enough.
Give priest an interrupt FFS!! The 13 players who PVP can suck it up
A good approach is to be able to reduce other party member's interrupt/cc cooldown.

I’m in between Druid and holy priest. I think I am now leaning to holy priest 😂. The only thing that bothers me is I don’t want cast angelic feather on others. Will I be blamed in a raid or mythic? 😅
I’ve been back n forth on frost dk, Druid in general, shaman in general. Druid/shaman because I can heal if needed. Druid hero trees kinda meh but I still enjoy Druid.

as someone who played a lot of priest in season 3 and some in season 4, no one has ever even brought up feathers to me not once, and honestly? im convinced most players dont even know what they are cuz the amount of times that unless the feather is DIRECTLY on them...they just..like ignore it? lol

oracle forces add spells to the bar, which is already full. 30 buttons. blizzard will never learn.
I agree premonitions are badly designed, but hpriest core skills are at most 6 or 7 buttons...

I tried using the holy spec in PvE and it was hilarious. If only I could heal mobs to death. This spec is ONLY useful in dungeons
I don't really know wow streamers but every time i come to checkout heal stuff, its basically the same, Jak with priest, jdotb with druid, ellesmere with pala, moad with disc, megasett with mistweaver. In the end i think these guys will have those classes as "main" every expansion.

Holy priest as a class is super fun to play... but I just wish the hero classes weren't so incredibly boring. Without a doubt the least interesting hero trees in the game, for me. But... the class is still my favourite, so I just have to live with it.

@@AutomaticJak It sounds unnecessarily finnicky and basically forces you into relying on an add-on to tell you what to do, but... we'll see. I'll try them. I just have low expectations tbh.

@@ThePolarpop Druid trees may be poorly balanced, but they're MOSTLY thematically really cool at least. IMO the druid trees can be fixed by balance changes, while the holy priest trees would need to be rebuilt from a conceptual stage to be interesting.

@@Giliver sure if the tank/dps who don't interupt have to then stop dps and heal the dmg.. or if blizzard changed spells to not do dmg, but make its so the target does 0dps for the next 8 sec instead so i dont have to worry about healing and dps are punished not me. i NEED kick/cc on healer so i can make my gameplay more fun/easier.
It wasn't mentioned (probably intentionally, because it is what it is) but Renew does reduce the CD of Holy Word: Sanctify. They could do with increasing the amount it does since it's only 2 seconds. It's definitely not the most efficient use of a spell the vast majority of the time, but it is there. XD (Please don't take it away)

I was playing hpriest in season 2. I've struggled a lot with pugging. Unless you have a team or it's meta playing hpriest is mostly waiting. I was so tired with it that I've skipped season 3 lol
after two terribad seasons, i went resto druid in season 3. Holy wasn't decent IMO until season 4, but by then, wtf is the point

The more I hear about hero talents, the more I think it just adds a layer of complexity to all classes which will be mastered only by top players and be frustating for others.

Ah yes holy priest...baby's first healer or the disc priest who swapped for early mythic raiding where timers are still unknown or the vaunted heroic hps parsing heroes. WOWEE ECHO OF LIGHT ON 30 PEOPLE GO BRRRT
Till you play one and can't even get in m0 cause no interrupts, unreliable fear, very squishy, no poison or curse dispels, md is worthless, and mind soothe useless. Now I'm not saying it's weak. I loved using flash concentration in shadowlands, and sure if your known, like jak, sure you'll get into groups. But on the high end where people rely on the healer to help with utility, your just a heal bot that'll get one shot by most bosses. So yea, why play holy when you can play shaman.
You can have nearly perma uptime on 20% DR and +40% health on a 1.5 min cd, it's not bad. With maybe some good usage of the shield oracle cd you should be able to survive.
