I didn't know YHA still existed! Memories of being 17/18 and trekking/ hitchhiking the Welsh coast from Chepstow to Aberystwyth. Half a century ago almost exactly. Trying to distract ourselves from the approaching A level results 😱
One hostel had a power cut, one was full up, so we (4 lads and 2girls) had to shelter from a thunderstorm and intense rain in a gents toilet. Good times.
Hostels were great, though, every one was different and provided different levels of "comfort". All kept clean by those using it. We took various tasks, one cleaning the kitchen, one the WC and showers, one washing up etc.
Wait....bar??? TV??? Strictly no alcohol back in the day. Thankfully there was often a pub nearby!

Hand driers are usualy the biggest Germ filled devices you can find .☹, Love the wet floor sign on the Carpet ! 🤣🤣

Back in the 70's "guests" were expected to clean the place to keep the price low. Can't believe how YHA has changed.

Adam you wore a bit of sorts doing that walk , with that y h a should have been cleaner out in the wilds there’s no excuse having a dirty carpet is bad
