    Totally agree on your opinion between the “business plan” detailer and the individual enthusiast. I am the enthusiast. So I do steps because I enjoy doing them and detailing my car kinda works as a sort of therapy session for me. I get some alone time, a work up a sweat and then I get to enjoy all my effort. Learn some stuff today and it’s always a good day when you learn something new.

      Awesome! Yes exactly! I sometimes do things that are not necessary on my own vehicle also becasue it’s fun or I just feel like doing it, not because it’s really needed. Detailing is fun and shouldn’t be controlled by the “detailing gatekeepers”That takes the fun out of it! Keep doing what you’re doing!

      Really enjoy, even though the Florida heat and humidity is tuff, detailing and keeping my vehicles extremely clean…..I even kept my County issued vehicles detailed 🚔🚓 before I retired in 2018. It was sense of pride and professionalism for me to keep them looking amazing, especially as it was County tax dollars 💵 (mine included) paying for them…..As always, great video!!

    I’ll
    Be honest I’m in between. I love working on these vehicles but I try to account for certain things in my business. I include this in my top package. I offer no polishing as I am only mobile. 1. Foam with Carpro descale @1:15 2. 2BM w/reset 3. Leave vehicle wet and hit with iron decon, quickly spread out product and allow more Dwell time with reset. 4. Rinse 5. Repeat with vertical panels 6. Full quick rewash with reset to remove any last residue of iron decon. 7. Dry and then clay bar.
    I charge $200 for a sedan and normally takes me 4-6 hours on vehicle Depending on how bad wheels are. I used to do this method till I Started applying iron remover after my wash and noticed on most vehicles I was still getting bleeding action. So from
    Then on I always applied after my contact wash. Cool video Phil and can’t wait for the next one! P.S. got this iron remover
    From company called EXO here in Germany $28 a gallon if I recall correctly tried it today on some wheels. Very similar to TW I’m consistency but not a lot of bleeding and foaming action. Will have to test it on some really beat up wheels.

    agree Phil, got to think of the trade-in price -- just about to take delivery of new Outback Touring Gen 6 in Sept, and my Gen 5 Premium has been kept in good condition with good products and tips/tricks/methods learned from you, Alan, Paul D etc 😎. Got offered a higher trade-in price due to how good the car looks post spring polish, hybrid sealant and IW SuperGloss+ Spray wax. Even the tyres look good (IW Tyre Coat), always have a bit of fun with the dealer to see how fast it sells on the fore-court -- he appreciates that when I hand the car in, it can immediately go on the forecourt/website.

    i recently had to do a decon. I'm an enthusiast ,but in some cases i have to do the 110%, typically when I buy a used car/get volun-told ,but enjoy the steps and the end results are so much more rewarding. Recently the paint was way to rough and the car marker is known for having a large amount of fallout . During the Chemical decon, it looked like my car bleeding from the hood...the entire thing was purple, every panel was that way. I had to do this a shameful number of times. The Adams had a much more pleasant smell then carpro and i can attest it works. When i'm cleaning, i prefer to touch my cars as little as possible so on On a normal job 1/2 bottle... this job x3. i'm done. Now the car is smooth to touch. My detailer friend is giving me a discount for the exterior,because of the prep and he saw that purple river it made it my drive way.

    • @MirandaDetailing

      @@MirandaDetailing So you dump the bottle content into your sprayer!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 года назад +3

      Yup. It’s meant to be ready to use not diluted. However I have heard of some detailers diluting it 1:1 or so and it’s ok to use, but honestly I don’t really need to do that. Since we rinsed the vehicle first it gets a little diluted from the water on the vehicle already so we don’t have to use it to aggressively.

  • @marklittleton1309
    @marklittleton1309 2 года назад +1

    Great video, Phil! Quick question. Have you found yet that you have a preference between using the Koch Chemie Active foam as a presoak, or using your traditional APC rinse method?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 года назад +2

      Hi. Thanks. It depends on the condition of the vehicle and what it needs. If it’s a fairly clean vehicle using the AF or SFn in a foam cannon works great. If it’s really gross we find the APC rinse is stronger and more effective.

    What do you recommend for heavy bug and tar?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 года назад +1

      Hi. For bugs you can totally use a strong APC 1:4 or a dedicated bug remover. for Tar we love Gyeon Tar.

    • @1hourbule
      @1hourbule 2 года назад

      @@MirandaDetailing I tried Bug & Tar from chem guys and it does nothing. I like Turtlewax bug and tar (only works on bugs) I used rainx bug and tar and it works great on Tar but not so much on bugs the issue with the Turtlewax and Rainx versions are they create this fat like stuff you need to wipe off and its like grease or fat and gets stuck to the towels, or pads you use and Ive had to throw them out. Any experience with this?

    Hey Phil, I recently used meguiars version or the iron decon on my 06 crv. Left small white spots on the black trim, but I cleaned with an apc and most of it came off. No big deal but you think it was the chemical? Or do you think that the black trim is just old and worn so it gets affected easier? I did not let it dry btw I kept the power washer on hand as I watched it work

    • @MirandaDetailing
