- California Chrome: Journey to Victory is a great underdog story for the ages. This video tribute compilation of images and narrative takes us through his early journey; from his humble beginnings to his dominating victories and rise to stardom heading into the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. California Chrome has the heart of a champion. He defied all the odds against him by proving that blue blood is not the only key to winning. By using a combination of speed, agility, endurance, rating skill and determination and a little help from distant ancestors, he was able to make it to the top.
This video always brings tears of joy to my eyes.

Chrome is and will always be my favorite horse. He's poetry in motion. Love you, California Chrome! If Matterhorn hadn't gouged out the soft flesh behind your right, front hoof, you would have won the Triple Crown. I will go to my grave believing that, Chrome...
And Victor Espinosa also believed that he would have won the Belmont without that injury that took a chunk out of his hoof. Same with Spectacular Bid and his injury which prevented his more-than-likely Triple Crown.
David Trujillo you have done a wonderful video; I saw the others that uploaded to the RUclips; but, let me tell you, this one is very very good......I´m following CALI-CHROME, which is the name I use for this incredible horse.....Thanks
