Would love one on the MFP M479dw. But I think this may have given me enough to go on to find it (well buried). Thank you.

Thank you, great help and great information. I had to do it 3 times (My Bad) rushing the steps ha ha. Also thanks to "You Tube" to hosting great video's like this and lastly another big Thank You to you as I so appreciate a second printer AGAIN for Scanning as this brother (MFC490) had a USB port for storing scans. Few now have that so its why I liked keeping this printer in service.

I just got rid my hp. They do everything in their power to make using non hp ink and I got tired of screwing with work around. Went with a brother

I have a 9015 but instructions are similar. Problem is when I get to printer update options and click it it says “feature locked”. Any ideas how to unlock it?

    Please help 🙏
Printer update options are locked. It says: the feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer 🤷‍♀️

Same here, they got smarter and now they are blocking that posibility.

Looks great but when I tried this i got the message "this feature has been turned off by the person who set up the printer." I set up the printer and did no such thing. How do I change this to allow me to turn off this update thing like you did?

@@nonadan1380 I am running into the same issue the options he had were not available to me after selecting Auto

This didn't work, was greyed out on mine. HP is really making their printers "too smart". But it completely hinders their function, mine was stuck in an update loop.

My printer has that functionality built in. You can't turn off the auto updates! What a scam.
