Fireman in the Houston area. Absolutely Love the podcasts of what Fireman actually talk about in real life and at the station. What I want too know is what is the worst things y’all have done to y’all’s rookies?
We made a fire in a apartment which was rented by a stripper who had many dildos everywhere. After overhaul we made our rookie pick up every single one of the dildos and put it in a box, and take it to the apartment owner in front of everyone and the Chiefs embarrassing himself while he was scared shitless. Him just walking out of a fire with a big ole box of dildos.

P.S, I would rather take mandatory 24hrs overtime on the medic unit than taking my 3 kids to a restaurant. I said what I said.

Had a woman cut 3 finger tips off on a mini table saw one day, legit walked up to her and she handed me her fingertips to me like she was giving me a handful of skittles. Definitely a weird feeling 😂

Haha! We had the typical sweet elderly lady who fell in her bedroom. Well when she fell she snapped the end of her pinky off. No pain, calm as can be. So I start asking if she has the fingertip. It's no where to be found. Well we hear this scurrying under the bed. Her cat is doing zoomies and batting the finger around under the bed and going absolutely crazy. That poor little lady was the sweetest. But that call was hilarious!

We are starting to cook again. Fast food is starting to taste the same and dull. Do you guys do crew pt? If so, what do you guys do? We been doing ultimate frisbee as crew pt.
Hell yeah man! That’s awesome! Nothing better than having a nice station cooked dinner with the crew! We usually all workout together in the weight room, and when it’s not summer we play wall ball outside and hit each other with tennis balls 😂

Just found you guys and can’t get enough. FF/Paramedic in Western NY with LFD.
We’re working 2 days (10 hrs)/ 2 nights (14 hrs) and then 4 off. And looking to go to 24 on 24 off 24 on 5 off. Any advice comin from houses with 24 hr shifts. We’re EMS and Fire. 55 man department, 4 platoons and ran 4500+ calls last year. On track towards 6000 this year
