The solution to this is simple: don't get sick. Having to deal with the ER at any major hospital is never fun. I broke my elbow 2.5 years ago...the day I went to the ER (Brigham and women's) there was a 3 hour wait in the ER, and then once I finally got up to the 2nd floor it was another 3 hour wait, and they never gave me a room. I literally just got a folding bed in the middle of their main area. Now, I get it, when your problem is a broken elbow (non misplaced), they're not gonna be in any rush to treat you...but I had a 6 hour wait in June of 2021. As my dad always says...if you really wanna get seen, you have to complain of serious chest pain or not being able to breathe. Moral of the story is that a trip to the ER is never fun. Hospital wait times have always been bad. This is nothing new

😂 they make $40 a hour, plus more on over time, they need more help. To take the load off. It's stressful job.

I have several friends who work at the MGH, between COVID and RSV they are full up. My neighbor was treated in the ER a week ago he was taken in right away blood pressure over 200, profusely bleeding from the nose disorientated they figured it was on the way to a stroke. They treated him ASAP, took hours to get the pressure down and the nose to stop bleeding. They admitted him but the fact COVID and RSV are running rampant this time of year they have no room. Three or four days he laid on a gurney in a hall being treated and it's not just the MGH if you check all the hospitals it's the same. I know a girl who works at Boston Medical Center who also told me they are having similar issues. I have spent hours in the ER in the past for sprains cuts needing stitches and so on. If they triage you and see it's not serious you go to the bottom of the list. If your bleeding, chest pains, hard time breathing etc you go first when it's a matter of life and death you get priority. These are the rules in any ER. If your not seriously in need of medical care go to urgent care they are popping up all over the place and usually can take you right away.

How about they treat people based on immediate need and how the visit is going to be paid for. Insurance, get right in line for care. If an interpreter is needed and the citizens of the USA are going to pay for the visit make a Freebie line. Three paying customers to 1 freebie would seem reasonable. Immediate need, sure head of the line. Remember this newly created crisis caused by the invasion of our borders when you pay your taxes
