Thank you, quite the compliment to come from one of the team, former or not! The guide is super handy, although as I concede in my rambling, I was forced to fudge or modify some of the holes for the rigging, but the effect is really good either way and something I definitely would have struggled to achieve without it.
I am the guy who in the 90's commissioned Rod at Colours to do every ship at Trafalgar rigged as on or about 12 noon to 1300. I still have them all in their delivery boxes.
A wonderful video, and great overview of what is involved in building these beautiful ships from Langton. I have to admit, I love the period, but am intimidated by how complex assembly can be!
Thank you, I've been running through Flying Colours again recently, so that will probably be the first port of call. Signal Close Action will need some more involved attention!
Pretty sure I worked it up from Khaki Grey progressively mixing in Khaki, Camouflage Beige and Deck Tan for lighter layers. I didn’t fuss too much over proportion as I’m not too worried about some slight variation.
It was just a spool of regular polyester black thread I found around the house. I couldn’t tell you anything more about it I’m afraid, there isn’t a thickness written on it.
Brilliant stuff! Very much a fan of Langton miniatures!
They really are excellent miniatures and backed by great customer service.
Your ships look great! really glad you found the painting and rigging guide useful ... Enjoy, Brad ..formally of Langton Miniatures ;)

Thank you yes they’re a bit fiddly but worth it.

Lovely stuff. Can you advise the colours used on the sails? 👍

What thread did you use for the rigging?
