  • Interfrigo was founded in 1949 and specialised in refrigerated rail transport of high volume goods. Not least the transportation of bananas between the port of Rotterdam to different European markets was rather big business and Fyffes of course, had been one of the biggest banana import companies since the turn of the century. In the beginning the principal markets were Germany and Switzerland. To be fair, I am not sure if this particular type was very common in Denmark in the mid-1950s, which is the period I am modelling, but it is by no means impossible that Fyffes sold banans here. It is also quite possible that the wagon is on its way from Rotterdam to Sweden via Denmark. This particular car was registered with the Dutch state railways NS as a class S-CHV. The model is from Dutch manufacturer Artitec. Please visit my blog: www.Sundborg.Wordpress.com for more on my plans for the my layout.
