I played rhythm and lead guitar on this. I was hired also to To figure some of the guitar parts out. It was fun a beautiful may day I believe at Greg Freys studio in the Sourland mountains of Hopewell N J.. Great studio. Great engineer. I used for my name Ed Wilson instead of Edison Wilson back then
@@edisonwilson8232 Definitely not, I've been playing guitar for 20 years and I can't play with a slide that good. Your guitar work all over this track is killer. Kinda makes me wonder, was Deaner playing the main riff and pre-chorus riff? And was the whole band a part of this session or was it studio guys on bass, drums and keys? Sorry about all the questions but there's no personnel or background info about this song anywhere on the internet. You might be the sole person alive providing info on this recording sesh.
I meant to say it brought me "out of" a dark funk. And I am serious. This tune made me get off my feet and walk on, at a time when I wasn't going nowhere.
@willzone its just a throwaway line in a sketch about border control if i remember correctly. its a sketch where they have maps hanging up everywhere and david cross says something along the lines of "what about fat lenny??"
As always, Ween throws you a curve rather than going for the obvious, which would've been "Imaginary Lover". Fun Fact: If you play the original ARS album recording of "Imaginary Lover" at 45rpm, it turns into Stevie Nicks.
Yeah, they did it for the movie "Run Ronnie Run", so I'd assume they probably got a better studio or higher budget due to the cost of the movie, though I couldn't say.

I was wondering who else was playing on this with Deaner since I've never heard him rip a slide guitar before. Was that you on slide?
I am also playing the slide guitar track. I suck at it .

Ed, awesome doodmang, got a 10cc vibe in there and Goin Down by the Boss. When did you record this?
This was recorded for the Run Ronny Run soundtrack years ago. It’s a cover. Never made it into the movie.
c'mon guys, smarten up a bit. this is a cover, Atlanta Rythem Section.
My guess was Steely Dan. Thanks for the info.
Reminds me of Steely Dan a little.

This is CRAZY AWSOME ❤🇺🇸
I didn't know they did a cover of this tune. I love this band.
this music, by Ween, brought me out a dark funk.
I thought I'd heard Ween do everyone, but this Steely Dan(ish) track adds yet another to the list....
david cross seems like a big ween fan. there's a mr. show sketch with a character named 'Fat Lenny'
probably already said, but i think ronny dobbs says "let's have us a champagne jam!"
Oh, he definitely does
Had no idea they were involved with this movie. Makes me like it even better.
what I am listening to, again!
@willzone its just a throwaway line in a sketch about border control if i remember correctly. its a sketch where they have maps hanging up everywhere and david cross says something along the lines of "what about fat lenny??"
This is so good!
I swear to Boognish my mangs, more people need to hear this cover....mang.
What I am listening to right now.
wow..great song and nicely done

wow!
Damn, they even know how to sound like Bad Company and Grand Funk Railroad? Any limit to these guys?
Not really. No.
George Orr Limits? Ween? Nah. They’re way too brown and down with the Boognish for that kinda junk, mang.
Fuck me dead. You have some sick B-sides i've never heard! Brown on dudde.
This is a song by Atlanta Rhythm Section, but it's so W33N a licious
they weenin it 🏆7
yaayeeyay!!!!
Boognish lives forever
Of course Ween was involved in Mr. Show somehow, how could they not be
Ronnie Dobbs would be proud of this version
still kick ass
This smells like AllmanSteely DanSkynrd
Did you know that in the original the singer says "Play it Dean!" at one point?
No fucking way
If Steely Dan and Frank Zappa made a song together.
@easy2foley it is moving.
though maybe it brought me a dark funk too
whoa gener sounds eerily like van zant.
This reeks of Zappa
gAh it looks like that water is moviing
f**kin ween!!
@oaeoeao: Me too...
Ronnie Dobbs brought me here.
So far two Ween fans hate Steely Dan.
Its southern rock. Nowhere near Steely Dan!!!! Lol!
i gota say, this really beats ARS, sorta shocked. fuckin A
+SwampyMusic my only question is , where are you hiding the needle
Great track!
Doesn’t sound like Ween tho, too polished

I weirded david cross out :)
