I'd say that quantum leap is more like catching up after decades of suppression in JJ. Respect to the Jujiteros, Lutadors, Sambists, etc. that kept it up.

Love this video. I am very interested in what I have heard about Eddie Cummings interest in Reilly Bodycomb...also, when John is talking about controlling the free leg (double trouble), this seems very consistent with the videos that Bodycomb, Lister, etc, where putting out prior. Was this, to overclassify, Sambo-influenced system (scissor takedown also) continuously influential in Danaher's philosophy? Thank you. Always awesome videos.

Grandmaster Oswaldo fadda's jiu jitsu students were using there leg lock techniques to beat the gracie academy pre rolls gracie era. So john is really just connecting two sides of jiu jitsu that has been there far longer than most realise.

I'm sure I saw John Danaher wearing a Jungle fightwear rashguard at a seminar last summer. I HAVE to see him do the animal combat talk in one of these

Just normal rash guards you'd use for surfing. Almost all the BJJ ones are overpriced garbage

Not saying my legwork game is as sophisticated, but been doing all kinds of leglocks since 1998 & also very good w Leglocks that keep you in top position. CATCH WRESTLING, Sambo, Gokor were already ahead of that game

Firas I am disappointed in you for not wanting to roll with women. As an owner and head coach of a gym one of your main objectives is to equip your gym goers with the necessary set of skills to defend themselves. Women are one of the most vulnerable people. Depriving women of necessary training to defend themselves is a reprehensible thing. When you claimed that you personally don't grapple with women I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was for religious reasons. But you clarified in one of your videos that " you don't have pure thoughts when you roll with women". You are a lauded figure in this sport and you say something like that? You are disgraceful. Jiu Jitsu is the best martial art (mostly) for self defense and depriving women of proper access to that is wrong.

What if you had a male training partner that normally doesn't have sexual thoughts with partners but for some reason developed them training with you. I think the mature thing would be not to roll with you. Or would you not mind?
