Joe is extremely right about lawns. They look bad, smell bad, have no purpose, most would prefer not to have them, we spend so much money for their maintenance, we waste so much drinkable water on lawns simply for aesthetic. Not only would eliminating lawns help decrease water usage, the potential alternatives of native plants and wildflower gardens would help support ecosystems and stall the impacts of urbanization. Neighborhood associations enforce them bc they like the uniformity and keeps the resell value up on properties.
