I really enjoy watching your videos. You are to be commended for your polite manners at the sales as you are both always respectful. The items I would have not left behind were the carved Emu Egg for $10 and the pottery bed/foot warmer for $5. Thank you for a good watch.
We had one of those red phones in our house when I was growing up. They were very pretty much ubiquitous at the time. Funny seeing you young-uns pore over it like its some antique item.
yellow would be pretty unique! The other popular colour was beige. Our house was built in 1963 so that'd be the approximate vintage of those phones. @@2AussieThrifters
You chose some good stuff. Yes. WWII items sell well. The car was certainly worth taking but you still did well overall. Don't beat yourself up too much ;-)
When you put stuff up for free postage, does that mean you are actually making less profit in reality? So for example the $41 item there you mentioned would actually be like $31 you guys make after you pay like $10 for shipping yourself? Or am i wrong there 🤔 cause i never understand how people can put stuff up for like $10 and under and offer free shipping and not lose money etc. Whats the point in selling that stuff
Great vid. Love your garage sale vids. Don't feel bad mate, I wouldn't of even looked twice at the world war 2 stuff. That is a great find and crazy money. Well done
I would definitely picked up the gloves, Skeet had a pair as well as the sheep fleece jacket and goggles that were his grandfather’s from the war. When I first met him , he was riding around Australia on his Laverda and he wore them every day. 🥰
Don't worry mate, you are bound to make more huge mistakes at garage sales 😅😅. Seriously though if you don't know what something is worth then you can't make a mistake. If it was your main selling category and you missed it then yes.
Some great scores! I wouldn’t say it’s a mistake but I guess you never know unless someone else you know picked it up later on in the day. I think you dodged a bullet on the tin toy car was the sold comp for $30 the same car? If so I think you did if not then maybe it could’ve been worth more but if you’ve got nothing to compare it to on the market at the time then I think it’s fair to pass but maybe with terrapeak something could’ve come up. As someone else mentioned if it’s not your niche per say and you passed on it but it was valuable you didn’t really make a mistake unless it was your niche which is certainly the right mentality to have. All the best for this weekend! 🙏
Thanks mate yea I couldn’t find the exact comp On the tin car the sold was for a different one was tough to nail it down with the limited time I had so I guess I’ll never know lol hope you snag some bargains tomorrow
@@liviodave7713 yeah, definitely come down in value over the years and are slow movers now but definitely high asp if you’re picking the right ones I sold one not too long ago for $420 Plus postage!
Nah no mistake you made a killing from the things you did buy and just think good karma gunna come my way for leaving some meat on the bone for somebody else 🤣🤣 👍🇦🇺🦘
I would have grabbed the Citroen DS but I doubt if I would have sold it! The Flying mittens looked new but would have been worth a punt at that price in case they were original and just well preserved. Those Anglepoise lamps (Jazz called it a Pixar lamp) can bring big money. Especially the older ones. The stoneware hot water bottle would have brought you a few bucks at that price.
Great video, good buying and it’s always better to let things go if you are not sure. The only exception is if it’s price is too irresistible. Lastly never look back and thing you made a blue, reason is that you could have also made a big mistake. Good luck hunting this Garage Sale Trail weekend. Cheers
Possibly, I didn’t get to have a close enough look was way too distracted by everything else I think they had & $80 on it I know some of them go for crazy money but I don’t know how to pick the better ones.
Great finds. Car was worth the twenty everyday…, Funny how what is left behind preys on the mind something cruel, know that feeling oh so well. Cheers for the vid.
Haha yea you sure do, I’m not very well versed on Tim toys but as soon as I got down the road I thought I should have grabbed that haha oh well you live and learn stoked with what we did pickup though
ive always found it super hard to ID war stuff on the fly, but usually with the niche words it opens up such a crazy world of collectables. Amazing finds folks, and they were just all alone in the wild like that! Super cool!
Oh yea I haven’t had a lot of it at all so I’m very green when it comes to that stuff but I knew at those prices I had to take them, super stoked with the finds just wish I took the risk on the gloves and the ton car haha but you can’t win them all.
@@2AussieThrifters yea, hindsight right! But now we all know what to look for haha! Thanks. But i agree with you - we set rules and make decisions to fit our models and clearly based on what you knew or could see, you did the right thing, as if we gambled these things every-time, we wouldn't make money. Kudos regardless Team! Solid work
Good day mate Can you please do a video creating a new account, how to find an item demanding or an item good to sell ,how to list and make titles seo etc and how to make a sale from a 0 reviews account??
Yes I’m kicking myself I didn’t I even went to pick them up that last time as the other buyer walked in the door but I wanted to make sure I got the stuff I had already put aside haha 😂
I know a guy in Adelaide that'd buy any commodore gear, dead or alive. Be a quick easy flip, he will come to you if you buy it cheap enough. @2aussiethrifters
What do you reckon did we make a huge mistake leaving those 2 items at the garage sale?
Amazing pieces and prices were so so good.

Thank you so much we always love having a chat to the sellers always makes a fun day out. I’m sure I missed tonnes at that garage sale.
Definitely would have purchased all that WW2 stuff and certainly the car - and quite a lot more! Nice garage sale indeed! 👍😊
Oh yea there was really some nice stuff there 🙏
We had one of those red phones in our house when I was growing up. They were very pretty much ubiquitous at the time. Funny seeing you young-uns pore over it like its some antique item.
Haha jaz had a yellow one on her house as a kid, the red ones just seem to sell really well for good money now.

Yes. WWII items sell well.

Yea was definitely happy with what we ended up with. Really had no idea on the car and didn’t have long to make the decision haha

Yea so we incorporate the price of shipping into our costs generally it works out the same ie $41 free post or $31 plus post.
Great vid. Love your garage sale vids. Don't feel bad mate, I wouldn't of even looked twice at the world war 2 stuff. That is a great find and crazy money. Well done
Thanks mate yea the garage sale videos have been fun to make. Definitely happy to have picked up the WW2 gear.
I would definitely picked up the gloves, Skeet had a pair as well as the sheep fleece jacket and goggles that were his grandfather’s from the war. When I first met him , he was riding around Australia on his Laverda and he wore them every day. 🥰
Yes they where awesome kicking myself I got distracted and didn’t add them too the pile 😓
You left the Scream videos behind 😮 I have Scream 2 but still hoping to find 1 & 3 in the wild one day!
Yea I probably should have grabbed them but I’m really trying not to buy vhs atm lol 😂
The gloves do look like WWII flying mittens, while a lot had each finger, some like these were mitten style for work in colder cockpits etc
Ouchhhhhh… haha all good I guess you live and learn.

Thanks mate haha it’s always a what if lol but I’m stoked with what we got out of it
I would’ve picked up the gloves as they looked military to me.
Yea I think they probably where ahh well can’t win them all haha

Oh man there was so much cool stuff at that garage sale i wish I’d grabbed more but I was just blown away by the military gear.
@@2AussieThrifters We can't be expected to know everything. I would be just as likely to overlook valuable sports jerseys and video games!

Thanks mate yes that’s a good point I’m pretty happy with what we did walk away with in the end
that thumbnail though 😆
Haha I’m glad you like it, it took some effort haha 😛
Yes a Bad mistake by Brad. I would of purchased all of that stuff. Send bad Brad to his room for a few hours without food Jazz!
Haha I’ll take my sentence with grace
Your a good boy Brad @@2AussieThrifters
Mistake or not you still did awesome out of that garage sale. Another awesome vid guys 🤘
Thanks mate yea was stoked with what we did pickup
Oh wow that was amazing, how cool…..we knew you couldn’t leave the Crows jacket behind! Yes Jazz 💜
Haha can never leave a good crowd jacket behind.. haha was a nice morning out.
The desk lamp! Was that a genuine Anglepoise desk lamp in the background? If it was you missed out big time there.

Some awesome finds guys! That crows stuff is elite!! 🤘
Crows elite…. I never thought I’d hear the day are you feeling okay?
You should do a video of the afl stuff you got Brad
Haha that would be a very long video haha 😛
Wow wow wow 🎉
Haha some cool finds
Good day mate

That Starter jacket 😍
