No matter what he says... These companies objective is to get rid of the driver.
Funny how it's a so called driver shortage. But rates shit and brokers are low balling owners.
As they have done in nearly every industry CREATE THE PROBLEM and PROVIDE THE SOLUTION all electric trucks in the future with no drivers in the seats. Only a few trucking GIANTS left is where they want it.
Tell me how these self driving vehicles get out and do a dvir? How about check if the load is strapped and secured? Check the bol to make sure it matches?
Or my favorite how about what happens when they lose internet in the mountains?
Short haul flat cities sure. There is NO TECH in the world that's considered stage 5 self driving. Hence why they all require a driver behind a wheel to take over when it fuxks up
You can't leave a brokedown truck in the center lane. If you were in the city they're out on a private testing ground. Can't leave it in the center line in real life situation.
U can't replace humans with machines
So many Fatalities from the accidents would be tremendous.
Great interview. Still not a fan on autonomous vehicles. There’s not a shortage of drivers. It’s a shortage of pay.
Started off as a cool dude but he shifted into a sell-out position💰. You can't have it both ways, he chose the driverless route because he was convinced that the more drivers are removed from their roles, the more the profit margins increase. It will get really dangerous out on the roads with computers that don't have any defensive driving instinct or experience.
But you work for automated trucks that will eventually put those drivers that you allegedly admired completely out of a job soon 😕
All that to say we’re going to remove as many human drivers as possible and take the best paying freight.
This is impossible because there will be many people following these self driving trucks to rob them....period. Too risky to have millions of dollars on a truck with no human...
How long will it take before this take over begins
1 second after it is cheaper to remove the driver with all things considered.

I think this CEO completely missed webdriver culture is to replace the truck driver with any kind of robotics team values the driver reduces driver pay in favor of building corporate gains there is no driver shortage there is a severe peace shortage that meets drivers don't want to work for mega companies
We plan on taking the driver out of the truck, he sugar coating to the max tho
Nowadays, how it works is you engaged the money into employees's pockets or there is no culture. Robots will take the burden of having employees, that's all.

Human Drivers will be eliminated and freight rates will be extremely low where drivers will have to become remote drivers
