Hi Dana, I just recently started watching your channel. You have lots going on in your life right now. Don't feel bad about venting your frustrations. Everyone needs an outlet. People should not judge others until they have walked in that persons shoes because living it and talking about it are two different things. You can only do what you can do, what you can handle. i could listen to your talk forever! you may want to consider making ASMR videos, with your beautiful accent I bet it would be a hit! Thank you for sharing your story. I have worked in shelters for families experiencing homelessness and I know even retelling the story can be traumatic. I hope things turnaround for you soon, it’s really unfortunately in this society we don’t look out for each other to provide a solid safety net for when life takes a tumble. Sending you a big hug.
There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with asking for help when you need it. I see RUclipsrs who run gossip channels get money hand over fist. You had/have a GENUINE need. I've been there a few times. I have needed help and I have helped. The mean ppl are agents of satan.
God comes first! Some people do not understand. It will be totally amazing the blessings God will pour upon his children. I've heard the same thing in my own short comings. Help yourself first. We are to wait on God because if we move ahead than God's plans may get messed up and you could miss his blessing. God deserves all the glory..

The people who are voicing disbelief that you ladies are really in this situation, are likely scared silly that they could end up the same way. It's absolutely true, and it could happen to any one of us.
That's not true at all. I'd venture to guess that the vast majority of us are people who have been on RUclips for several years and we have witnessed the scammers, grifters, sadfishers, hustlers, etc. They are very easy to spot when you've been here a while. And scammers like this don't like being exposed, they prefer and hope for the middle aged and older ladies who are somewhat naive and quick to open their wallets. They often use "God" in their schtick because then it helps viewers believe they're definitely on the up and up because a devout Christian woman and her elderly Christian mother are surely not going to mislead.

You are spreading lies @dibbleboo. Clarification was giving in this video. When I stated in an older video "women" had helped me pay for car repair & battery, at that time it was 2 women, not a group/horde. I have not been asking for years. Again, clarification was given in this video if you even care to know the truth. God knows the truth, he knows my heart AND he knows yours. I am at peace because I am not lying.

In NY, a 5x5 storage unit on Long Island was around 200 a month and that was 2018. So yes, they do gouge you.

Why should you even have to explain your past history? People amaze me how the are so freaking judgmental behind a keyboard! It does not matter how you got to where you are it matters that you have a roof over your head even if it is in a car. You’re taking care of yourself.
Living in a vehicle is not easy but there are solutions for problems that arise living in a vehicle.
Look cheaprvliving and the lady’s name: Box Van Dee. She is amazing. Started out in a Pontiac grand am living on ($450) a month. She has a great story. She gives hope to people who are in a bad situation.

Hi Dana. i just found your channel. nobody should be judging you since they arent walking in your shoes. most youtubers have patreon accounts or ask for money in one way or another. there is no requirement to give or even watch your videos. they can just scroll by. i worry about unhoused people, esp when weather is bad like with the hurricanes. best of luck to you.
I know the pain of back surgery I had two and still in pain, I am praying for you and your Mom.🙏 please don't listen to these people. One day something will happen to get you out of this.
Same here. I hurt my back 40 years ago. I’ve been in pain ever since, despite two major surgeries and innumerable other forms of treatment. It seems that unless you’re obviously disabled in some way and because chronic pain is invisible, many people are quick to judge you. I only hope those people never find themselves in this position - I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

@@suelloyd1989 I agree this last time l5-s1 , already had l3=l5 so I do know I was in a wheelchair for two months and I worked my way out of it and walk with a walker now. you would of thought the surgeries would of stopped the pain but it never will. i have no advice other than keep praying and know this is only temporary and hard to go thru🙏
You have a wonderful voice tone, inflection and cadence. It is very soothing. You would do so well in some kind of customer service or answering service position. People would be reassured that you were listening and that they were being heard. Many customer service phone jobs are part time. It's not the lottery, but it's an income stream, and if you can get a position in a field or product line that interests you, it could be fun.
I am glad you have a friend that offers her driveway for sleeping. I've often thought myself that I wouldn't care if someone slept in my driveway as long as they weren't there all the time. But sometimes that's not a good idea, as you might not know the people. Having a shower through the church must be wonderful in their own gym? Never heard of a church with a gym, but what do I know?
The cooler/cold weather is coming soon. I do have concerns about you sleeping in the cold. Especially your mother. As we get older our bodies aren't prepared for that, and pneumonia or upper respiratory infections are easy to catch. I know there are seniors (many) living in their cars in all weathers, but they have little heaters and generators for heat sources. I do hope you can find something before the winter gets here. 💗💗
I agree that a remote customer service job would be something to consider. I have a couple questions regarding your story:
Shouldn’t your falls at work causing surgery have been covered by workman’s comp insurance? You should’ve been able to have all of that covered. Also, I might be mistaken, but I thought that you mentioned in a previous video that your storage buildings were $350 each? And that you didn’t want to get rid of your furniture and things? It could be a really good source of income for you. But, please, you have to be proactive. You can’t wait on anyone or anything to come to you. I know from experience. There are shelters, charity groups, Catholic ministries, all kinds of people, including the workforce commission that can help you find work that will suit your abilities.

It's Medicaid you would have to apply for. Not Medicare.

I just found your channel this evening, and I am so sorry that you, and your mom are going through all of this. The comments that people are saying to you is so uncalled for. The devil is working overtime, and he will use anyone, or anything to try to turn Christian’s from God. Do it listen to the things people say, because God has got a plan for you, and your situation. I will be praying for you, and mama. May god always keep you both safe.
I advise that your mom apply to several senior housing with you listed as her dependent adult daughter. Once you get into housing with her if you get approved for disability your Dr can request you have your own apartment for mental health reasons. Probably the best way to get a roof over your head that’s affordable. Wish you the best. It took me 5 years to get into housing with my disability once I finally made it onto a few lists.

Federal and state “elderly” housing is usually actually for the elderly AND anyone who is disabled of any age. Even 20 year olds who are disabled qualify for the “elderly disabled” housing. Contact the town housing authorities specifically of the town you live in AND work in. You get priority at the housing authorities in those specific towns. -YOU- qualify to apply to the elderly housing at the town housing authorities because you are disabled. Also you then usually move even further to the top of that housing waitlist when they hear you are staying in your car.

I am concerned about winter car sleeping though. I hope someone finds a place for you. There are so many people out there who get housing for free or steeply discounted. I hope something opens up for you.
There are some senior housing in Ringgold, GA that is based on income. And I don’t think there is a waiting list. If you don’t mind being an hour or hour and half from ATL. And don’t get rid of all your stuff. It will cost more than the 350 a month to replace the items. You do want to get down to the necessities. And look outside of the ATL area for storage units.

I wish you the best, I bet looking back that it would have been best to keep your place rather than sell it as finding another place these days is cost prohibitive. I sure don't know the best course of action for you but it looks like getting any type of desk job may be a pathway forward but you may need a stable place to live first. Dana, My daughter and I have been house less in California for 1 year and 1 month. One car we share. No one can truly know the struggle unless you live it. I'm 74 and she's 49.
I believe you can't get Medicare unless you're disabled getting disability or retirement age but you can get Med-cal or Medicaid if you're income elgible. My daughter is disabled and I'm retired. We both have EBT cards and are on our County's Housing list for affordable housing. Please reach out to me if you have any questions. If you qualify with a low income. I think it's Medicare that you need to be retirement age or be receiving disability. Thanks for responding.

Try saving everything you can and any funds you can scrounge. Look at your states land tax sales for back taxes. Some of these have utilities, even wells. Make sure it is an unzoned area. These are easy to get at auction that way you can park on it, build yourself a tiny house from a shed. It's a way to rebuild your life.
You’ll be fine. Just hang in there, do your best to get a little exercise and you’ll be able to work soon. A lot of companies allow you to sit or stand while ringing a register or other simple tasks. You got this. You don’t need handouts!
Perception is self absorbed. The mother seems old school and does not want to appear as a grifter and/or😢 solicitor. You can tell she wants no part of these videos which speaks volumes. Hope things work out for both her and the mom.

Why haven't you begin to set up your vechile for long term living.
So you don't have to eat out.
Set up a kitchen, toilet and bedding. Your clothing storage.
Please look up cheap RV living . Hello Bob has several videos of what to do in the situation.
I notice the car is too neat to be a car that someone is living in. I’ve see RUclips videos of people living in their car.
I think it's because it's been very recent and they have storage units where they can take stuff.
Small home, not adequate. Our cars are set up, I have not videoed the inside of my car other than this viewpoint of me sitting in the driver's seat. We do have potties setup, bedding, clothing storage, etc. Living in a car is not a one size fits all. Our channel isn't a "van/car life" one, we just happened to find ourselves in this situation. @@olivebobo6885so have I. I watch vehicle dwellers all the time. Check out minivan Lee. She is extremely neat and amazing. I’ve seen others that are very minimal as well. It’s hard to tell if someone lives in their vehicle if they don’t want to be noticed.

Anyway, not sure why I'm trying to explain anything to you. My friend doesn't need your approval, or anyone else's for that matter. She knows who she answers to and that is all that matters to her.
I'm no HR expert, but thought it was illegal to fire people when they're out on disability. You may want to talk to an attorney's office both related to the social security disability but also re: being fired when out on disability. You were hurt on the job, so they're kind of responsible. That may be one avenue to pursue. Also can you sleep in the church parking lot? I'm using a social security specialist/attorney's group to assist with our SS appeal (for my disabled daughter). We've been told that our appeal will be done in front of a judge in 12-18 more months from appeal date (this year is year 3 for us in the process but they screwed up how they processed things initially so that accounted for quite a bit of time lost - so we're going longer than most). Good luck!
Employers can legally fire employees on long term disability if they’re unable to fulfill their duties or return to work.
No you can't be fired while off work for medical reasons. But if she was hurt on the job why wasn't she on workmans comp? that's required by law. but she says she was on long term disability which is completely different then workmans comp. by law if an employee gets injured on the job or even on the employer's property, they are required to report it to workmans comp and the employee goes onto workmans comp. none of this makes sense sorry
I would do anything to get a home. Get rid of your storage units, door dash or uber, go somewhere where rent is cheaper. Babysit or petsit.. Dont sit around and wait for God or other peoples kindness. You have to help yourself.

When someone has been repeatedly sadfishing and begging viewers and subscribers for "financial gifts" for over 2 years now, and many things don't add up, then yes...the viewing public DOES have every single right to ask questions

One note - I've noticed other You Tubers, when people are openly critical, they just ignore those comments and don't waste their time replying.
If people choose to believe you have gone to the point of recording in a car and acting like you have no money, etc. just for scam, their minds won't be changed - just ignore.
For me, when people that know you have chosen to help you (for example the people who put you up in a hotel over Helene), that tells me people who know you actually want to help you. When I think of so many people who lie and get all the freebies from the gov't (I've watched a lot of Judge Judy here on YT), it makes me feel frustrated that they are so slow to help those who are normal (not drug addicts, etc).

Then later asking for money to pay for her storage unit because they are going to lock it and auction off her stuff. Then when she’s homeless she says she moved the couch off its side in the storage unit so she could sleep on it.

They also refused a book/cabinet because a portion of the back was cutout for tv cords, etc. It is impossible to convey every single conversation of my life in my videos, nor should I have to do so. It's sad that your mission is to prove something that simply isn't true. I'm praying for you.
I’m sorry you and your mom have to live in your car, there must be someone or some organization that could help you. I was married to a narcissistic abuser and had to escape him. I had over 20 medical conditions and still have them. My pain is a 10+ every day. I have several of the same conditions as you do plus several more. Anyway, I went to what used to be called a welfare office and got a case worker. He helped me so much and I found a rent controlled apartment right away. Do you know that you can get paid for taking care of your mom? I’m almost positive every state does that. I wish you luck ❤

Also, trusting God will provide isn't actually happening when you're constantly putting up links to your various pay apps in your videos and community posts and asking strangers with their own families and expenses and bills and struggles in these difficult times for THEIR donations. Frequently I've heard you tell people that if "The Lord/Holy Spirit leads you, please gift us." You're not really trusting in God like you claim if you're asking others for $. Why haven't you been able to at least work a few hours a week all of these months? There are lots of work from home jobs where you set your own hours, tons of people in your situation or can't survive on only SSDI or pension, they work part time doing Door Dash, Uber, Walmart Spark, Instacart, etc. RUclips is filled with seniors who have no choice but to rely on these to survive, people in their 70s even. And many of them also live in their vehicles. But they do something to help themselves. It doesn't seem you're doing anything to help yourself, just asking or hinting for donations.

She sold her town house for much less than it was worth due to the condition of it, as she stated in this video here, and that's what she lived on from 2020 onward, the proceeds of that sale, as she wasn't working. And where do you get this notion that everyone on YT deserves to make money regardless of their content? Before all of the grifters realized how lucrative YT was, even 5 years ago it would only be customary to "tip" a content creator via Superchat. It was a breach of TOS to post Cashapp/paypal/venmo etc anywhere in one's chat/comments or videos as that was considered circumventing the way it's supposed to work here; YT gives ppl a free channel, they get monetized and make $, they get superchats and YT takes 30%. Now everyone has their hand out and EXPECTS donations.....it's well beyond just tipping a channel for good content, now creators come right out and ask/sadfish/drybeg for $ with their sad stories. I have had it tough in my life too but I sure didn't ask strangers for $, nor did I hint at it constantly how broke I am. I would work more, do errands for people, sell my belongings, downsize, budget, avoid spending anything on frivolous things. But now ppl just turn to YT with their sad story and their hand out.

I appreciate you taking the time to tell your back story, thank you.....but some things still don't add up?
1. You claim you only got 30 days notice to move out of the horse boarding farm but you did a video in March 2024 titled "Updates: medical appt, apartment hunting, disability appeal" and at the 4:50 mark way back then you said you were apartment hunting even though you didn't yet have a date to move out by. So you've obviously had 6 months to prepare? Also in this same video you complained that most apartments you were looking at for you and Mom were too small and that you needed a 4 bedroom apartment for the both of you. Well of course in today's economy a 4 bdrm apartment is going to be crazy expensive. Most people who have no income are going to put having a safe permanent roof over their head over holding on to a bunch of material things. These days there are families with 2 parents and 3-4 kids that can't even afford a 4 bdrm rental and that's with both parents working. It seems you have very unrealistic expectations and aren't willing to make compromises or sacrifices with respect to your "Stuff" while complaining that you're homeless and always asking for donations.
2. If money was so tight for you since selling your condo for less than fair market price and you were living off the proceeds since the sale of it in 2020 and you had no income since then, why are all of your past videos focused on buying things? Amazon hauls, Walmart Beauty Boxes, Temu Hauls, pedicures, all of the new wigs you kept buying, restaurant food reviews, junk food reviews (soda, sweets, snack food), etc? buy buy buy. why weren't you planning for the future and saving up money? Most people who have significant health issues, who end up not working, who are waiting to hopefully qualify for SSDI, they watch every penny versus lots of frivolous spending on non necessities.

Also, she talks about transparency but never mentions the revenue from the town home sale nor does she mention where she worked (might be fact checked). She may not think about it but she finds a "negative" for every proposed positive. When you have to spend 41 minutes explaining why your situation is a constant barrier every single day for finding a stable environment most people do not understand. It appears to be more about the daughter needs than the poor mom who you know still feels responsible for her child. Just sad for 78, God bless her.

If you're not fit enough to do your job they can say you no longer have a job! It's not fair is it! You need a job you can sit down at! I suffer with bad osteo-arthritis ( I've had one hip replacement)and lung damage from covid but I work at a job I can sit down! a small one bedroom flat would do you both and would be reasonably cheap to rent. It's a roof over your head. Storage units are pricey!!

My sister's neighborhood is unsafe. It is not as safe as a gas station parking lot. We have asked churches if we can park in their parking lot and the answer has been "no". They even have signs saying "no overnight parking". God has provided something even better with the driveway of our fellow church member. We are truly blessed!

Pretty much all senior housing here in the Metro Atlanta area has a minimum waiting list of 1-2 years. Some are 55+, but most are 62+.
There are plenty of jobs she could do that are not strenuous. But she has an excuse for them all. She’s sitting here for 45 minutes talking she could be doing that for a Dr. office making appointments. There are lots on online type of jobs these days.

Yes lots of us are one paycheck away from homelessness but we DO THINGS to help ourselves; sell our hoard of belongings that cost $350 a MONTH just to sit in a storage unit, we work odd jobs, we don't spend 2 years blowing $ we should be saving on: makeup, food hauls, Temu hauls, Amazon hauls, makeup hauls, junk/fast food hauls and reviews, buying numerous cheap wigs on Temu. Her entire video history is that of a shopaholic. Those of us impacted by the economy now, we watch every penny, we spend responsibly, we don't blow $ on junk, we scrimp, we save, we budget, we compromise, we sacrifice, we do side hustles on Doordash/Uber/Instacart/Spark, we babysit, we do errands for people, we clean houses, we scoop dog doo in yards for cash, we barter, we trade items we own for items we need. The list goes on. We HELP OURSELVES. RUclips is FULL of middle aged/single Moms/elderly folks who do Doordash/Instacart/Ubereats to supplement their low income/to save up the money to get an apartment/to put food on their table, etc

I don’t understand why your long term disability insurance company didn’t push social security harder to get you approved. They usually do because then they get reimbursed 100% from your ssd back pay award money. That’s what happened with my claim. If you start making money on RUclips they may never approve you because it shows you are earning money.
My LTD had contract w/ Allsups to do my claim & approved in three months. Truly grateful for their work.

I am 57 I have had 20 surgeries on both feet, a knee replacement times 3 on the same knee, a double hip replacement, a spine fusion and a cervical fusion times 4. You can do anything you put your mind to if you want it or need it bad enough.

People are making the comments they're making because this is what is referred to as grifting and ebegging. It's taking advantage of trusting and unsuspecting viewers such as yourself, for the channel creator's financial gain. In this case, people believe the channel is preying upon viewer's "faith" and Christianity. I don't think anyone means anything hateful towards her, but rather, they just want to warn others so they're not sucked in and financially exploited.

I feel for your predicament, Dana! Living in a car must be a nightmare for you and your mother! One word of caution: Your openness in this forum about your personal backstory and the disclosure of your financial situation might work against you as your social security disability application gets processed. If anything, you are making a case that you could find employment as a videographer or video editor. If I were in your shoes, I would remove all content from RUclips until your disability claim has been adjudicated fairly, based on your actual disability. A family member’s experience has taught me how things can get twisted and misinterpreted when insurance is involved.
I appreciate your input and suggestion. However, I honestly have put too much time and effort over the past 2+ years to take it all down. I just have "officially" become monetized, though still going through verification process and no money received yet. I just have to trust the Lord in this process. Yes, I do create content and edit, etc., but when I am able here and there. It's not a 9-5, Mon-Fri kind of thing. I can't stress over it. Thank you and God Bless!

It wasn't their fault. I lost my balance when reaching for something and fell. A thorough review was done. The fell apparently nudged loose the calcified thoracic herniated discs T8-9 I had from an apparent injury years and years ago, thus the reason for spinal surgeries & such.

Ran across your videos when I could not sleep. I work in the housing disability field as a case manager. I agree rentals is getting so expensive and unattainable for many. Most places where I live want the first month rent, deposit and background check to run an application and if denied your money is returned. I have been told that is to take the apartment off the market while they are completing the background. Most of my people can't afford this. Church funding is limited. There are several agencies here where I live to assist with rent and utilities, but you can only call starting on a Monday at 8:00 AM and if you are lucky to get through maybe some assistance. By Tuesday of the week these agencies funds are gone. We do have programs such as the Homeless Voucher program and other agencies, but you have to have a case manager to proceed and submit the app and then on a wait list. The vouchers are easy to get it is the landlords that are charging too much for people to live under these vouchers. Like I said I am not sure where you reside and what is available but best of luck.
I live in Georgia. I've contacted numerous housing resources and all have certain requirements that I don't meet or the funds have been depleted for this year. I may go over the different resources we've attempted on an upcoming video. Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it❣

What about FMLA Family Medical Leave Act, Companies are legally suppose to hold your job for medical issues.
I did complete the FMLA form, but I was out beyond the time they allow.
Do you even try to work even part time? There are rehab organizations that will employ you.
