yeah I just wish the legs werent so close together they look so goofy
The amazing thing for me is the weight of the things-or lack thereof. The operator is carrying it all, so it must be incredibly light. It really is a marvel of technology, for material innovation alone.
The heads and teeth look hard and rigid, but they are more like a stiff pillow, giving them the opportunity to interact directly with the audience, nudging, butting and biting-something no animatronic can do. I’ve see a guy life his baby up and the dinosaur had both baby and the guy’s arm in his mouth.
I'm proud of the Japanese for their extreme focus on detail and perfection even though they have some work left to do nothing stops them from succeeding.

These would make be perfect for a tokusatsu film, like Godzilla, or show, like Super Sentai.

I wonder when will the park open, though.
But one nitpick: The raptor should have true feathers (you know, as in bird-like feathers), not resembling mammalian fur, and it should have wing feathers (with the primaries attached to the second finger, not just the third finger, wrist, or arms).
They have a dozen dinosaurs now and the raptors have true feathers. Tons of videos online, just google dino-a-live raptor.

Ok. Those are constumes with animatronic heads and they are NOT the biggest moving robotic dinosaurs. The animatronics from the arena spectacular Walking With Dinosaurs are the biggest.
My favorite animal is lion and leopard. Dinosaurs is not my favorite, but I still love them very much. 🦖
still a long way off but its probably the closest we will ever get to real dinosaurs . just if they can fix tbe way they walk around would be great make them walk like actual dinosaurs would be great.
The closest we could get, likely would be robots using functional equivalents of the real creatures' bones and artificial muscles, remote controlled and with a heavy reliance on AI for movements

These aren't robots, they're men in suits. I remember seeing a show about Japanese inventors where tye guy who designed them specifically said they weren't robots.
I think we have different definitions of "robot". To me, a robot is a semi-to-fully-autonomous articulated machine. These are basically suits. Granted, suits with mechanical extensions manipulated by the human operator, but still nowhere near being a "robot". Servos capable of smooth organic movement under load are still nowhere near completion, but are something we should strive for.
If Japan and America remake The Last Dinosaur, they have to use those suits

Those dinos have some serious cankles.
Few things to know. Men in suit dinos go back to early Hollywood movies. Walking with Dinosaurs Live Experience used them but not as effectively or realistically as the Japanese have which doesn't surprise me since the Japanese do everything technically better it seems. THAT said, the bird walk is even worse here than in Jurassic Park and the parade of bad documentary CG that followed. So there's work to be done but shows promise. At the very least the park will be fun, so wish them the best of luck getting it done.
