@@TheKomentor The open leg dinos never look quite as good. The operator was great but the costume definitely let him down a bit. I did the job for a while but the vast majority of our dinosaurs kept your legs inside the costume thereby improving the look.
@@dannyhhewitt I really dont get why they dont model the legs, just increase the size abit and make space for human legs inside and it looks 10x better and scarier, also should get some real audio in there with.
Now, there is no need to give people a real heart attack tho, but it could've been so much better haha..
They just need to lower the lights and the black leggings make the human legs almost disappear
@@NoBuddy89 they can’t do that sadly our legs do not bend backwards. Since our legs go forward And theirs backwards there really isn’t any realistic way to make this work unless it was on a much larger trex (which has been done). They really should’ve lowered the lights tbh.

Totally not Smokey the bear it's not like you could get rid of the legs or cover them up. The joints on a dinosaur are different than that of a human. If you forced the joints to move around like a human, the illusion of a dinosaur would disappear, so the best option is to let them out in the open.
At least until that invisibility cloth becomes cheaper and available for civilian use. Then the legs can be covered in that stuff and made harder to see.

I like how the dino costume closely resembles the actual dinos that lived millions of years ago with all those feathers.
@John Dough yes, a lot of them did. Maniraptorans (the group Velociraptor is part of) basically looked like huge ground hawks with teeth, actually.
Microraptor had wing feathers on the hind limb as well and looked like a 4-winged raven.
As for T-Rex, there is a debate going on. From what I gather the likelihood was that Tyrannosaurus was probably fully scaly and leathery in texture, but there ARE related species with feathers (Yutirannus, for example, who lived in cold regions and was basically a smaller feathered T-Rex).
@@MrElvenbrother I read somewhere that T rex most probably had feathers but they avoided it in movies for a monsterous look and better aesthetics
@@tonythomas6847 from what I know, T-Rex in particular is highly disputed in this regard and probably didn't according to the most recent evidence (scaly impressions of skin in various parts of the body).
However other large species of tyrannosaurs like Yutirannus did show signs of a full body feather covering.
So it seems that the most likely interpretation is T-Rex having feathered ancestors and relatives while itself losing the feather covering while (or because of) attaining its size.
Think mammoths and elephants, in a way (as an example of very large mammals losing most of their fur).
