Agreed, though I had a thought about the car following Jimmy & Kim at the end: it's a tail hired by Howard. I think at this point we're expecting Lalo, but it would also make sense that after Howard finds the fake cocaine from ep1 and is genuinely confounded, there's every probability he'd have heard about the kerfuffle with "Saul" on the very same day. After the last season's shenanigans, it's not a reach by any means that he could put two and two together, and decide to investigate Jimmy's movements just in case.
This plays into a guess I've had about Kim's fate - I don't think they get to enact their grand scheme against Howard; I think they get just far enough to be incriminating and Howard is a step ahead, and catches them in a way that only Kim goes to jail. And I'm sure smug "you've ruined a good woman" Howard would be enough to push Jimmy into full Saul mode, and frankly I wouldn't discount Saul doing something unforgivable to Howard after this to fully break bad.
Then again, I say all this with the knowledge I did this exact same kind of plot guessing for Breaking Bad, and they still swerved me.

I feel like that quick scene with Mike's granddaughter in the last one is gonna end up being the thesis statement of the entire season. Mike warns her that the marble is going to jump the track, and she says it'll work when it's finished. Every single prominent character in season 6 seems to be weaving some kind of overcomplex plan for their own ends, and it's likely many of them will fall apart under their own weight (just look at how many steps Gus took to get Nacho killed; so much could go wrong, and it did ultimately go wrong, since he got away). Doesn't bode well for anyone.

That onslaught was not from Lalo, remember Bolsa got the number of the motel and he told the Salamanca's and sent the twins to get him. Nacho only got the gun from Gus because he expected Nacho to be killed in a shootout so he would not be caught alive and questioned. Why do you think Tyrus told him to shoot anyone who comes through that door? because they would make sure he was found by Salamanca's and not look suspicious if anyone from Gus's side were to have him killed when Don Eladio and the others made it clear they want him alive.

    • @Torthrodhel
      @Torthrodhel 2 года назад +4

The fact the twins had to shoot one of their own crew just to clarify they needed him alive shows what a high risk of him being killed it was, and what a calculated plan it was. They knew Nacho had to be smart AND lucky to escape that. They knew he was smart but still underestimated it, and that gave him extra leeway for how lucky he needed to be (not as much as they were hoping).
I wonder if some of those guys were also Salamancas? Not direct relations but maybe still relations. Would explain that guy ignoring the order to get him alive, he might've just been too furious. If so that has to make the twins even more furious (but they're still in control).

    • @paulhewes7333

The attack on the motel wasnt Lalo, it was the Salamancas, who got the tip from Don Bolsa who found the info Gus had mike plant in Nacho's safe. Nacho being outside when it came was sheer luck. They were there to take Nacho alive, hence when the twin killed his own underling for shooting too indiscriminately at Nacho in the truck. But they had been dispatched to the motel probably as soon as Bolsa told them where Nacho was suspected to be and just had arrived when Nacho was confronting Gus's spy.

Gus' men did the shooting at Nacho to take him out while Bolsa's men (twins) followed in another car to try and prevent death. Not sure if Lalo also contacted twins not to kill Nacho. There's at least two aspects of this episode that low-key add context to Breaking Bad!
    1. When Hector looked Gus in the eye, he wrecked Lalo's plans. This likely makes him MUCH less likely to ever look him in the eye again -- until the moment he blows them both up.

Copy pasted this from another reaction channel. Cool interpretation of what's happening:
"Gus wanted Nacho to think he was safe, when Gus was actually planning on icing Nacho from the beginning, which is why he had the lookout to make sure Nacho didn’t run away.
Mike knew Gus was probably planning to kill Nacho but still went along with orders and planted the Motel number in Nacho’s safe, knowing the cartel would find it and because it was in the safe they wouldn’t suspect anything. Mike took Nacho’s dad’s ID out of the safe because he didn’t want his dad involved in it. Gus wanted Mike to plant the number in the safe cause he wants the cartel to find and kill Nacho themselves. If Gus killed Nacho, it would just raise more questions and the cartel would start suspecting that there’s someone else on the inside who knows everything. The problem is that the cartel wanted Nacho alive to find out who he was working for, which is why Nacho was given very specific instructions to shoot anyone who comes through that door with no hesitation. Gus was planning on a shootout occurring where the cartel would have no choice but to kill Nacho. Gus now thinks he is fucked because not only is Nacho fully on the run and the original plan went to shit, the cartel and Lalo are now looking for him and if either of them catch him, he’s afraid Nacho will rat him out, so Gus wanted to threaten Nacho’s dad cause he knew it would be the only way to bring Nacho to him."

The Motel confrontation was part of Gus' plan. He planted the location in Nacho's safe and gave it to the cartel as a show of peace, he also instructed Nacho to shoot anyone who came through the door (even giving him extra clips) so that he would die in the eventual shootout. What they didn't account for was that Nacho would figure out that Gus had someone keeping an eye on him.
That's why Mike wouldn't take Nacho's calls and later was hesitant to plant the letter with the location. Unlike Gus' goons, Mike has some compassion for Nacho.

@@HarryWful Mike definetely new it, he hesitates when putting the letter down, which means he knew its contents. That's also why he was ignoring Nacho's calls, he was feeling bad about it bud ultimately it was gus order. He even says on the phone "not my call". Mike understood the reason of letting Nacho go, the same way he understood why werner ziegler had to go. He didn't agree with it, he offered other options, but it was Gus call to make, he's the boss. The thing is, Nacho and Ziegler were in the game, and despite Mike thinking that things could be solved differently, if the boss final order was to kill them, nothing he can do about that. This episode it's important because of that. That's Mike boundaries. He goes after Hector because he threatened his granddaughter. He stands up against Gus when he decided to go for Nacho's dad. These people are not in the game and he will not be a part of it.

I don't know if it's true, but I read that the bloke Betsy gives the cheque to is the one who sells the Chevy to Walt after the shootout that gets Hank and Gomez killed. In fact, you can see the car outside... obviously it's not the same actor as Saginaw Grant was probably feeling poorly when they filmed this (he'd die a few months afterwards), but if that's true then this brings the amount of BrBa characters crossing over to BCS to 37 up to this point, only four of whom (Stacey, Kaylee, Jodi and Joseph) were recast.

The scene where Hector looked Gus right in the eye adds so much more weight to Gus's reaction to the same thing right before he dies in Breaking Bad. The last time Hector looked him in the eye, it was because Lalo was alive and was going to come for Gus- so as soon as Hector looked at him again, he knew something bad was coming.

He gave away Nacho's location to the Salamancas knowing that Nacho could die in that shootout, so I think Mike is more concerned about protecting Nacho's father since he's not "in the game." Also, if the Salamancas or Gus killed Nacho, they would make sure no one finds the body. His father would never know if he died or ran away.

I think getting Nacho killed in a firefight was Gus' plan. Giving Nacho a gun and instructing him to shoot anyone who comes through the door was part of that plan. But Gus underestimated Nacho's intuition and resourcefulness. Gus isn't as "perfect" as he is in BB. I think it's mistakes like this in his attempts to address the Lalo situation that strengthen his resolve. Once Lalo is out of the way and Nacho is dealt with, he's going to feel pretty invulnerable (much like Walt felt once Gus was out of the way).

Let's go. Game day for BCS and a reaction from Brandon. A good day indeed. Phenomenal 2 episode premiere. Episode 3 tonight is going to be insane.
And I was thinking, the writers recently said we would see BB differently after this final season. So my theory, Mike's willingness to get Jesse out safely will hold more weight cause he couldn't get that for Nacho. A roads point to Nacho not making it out. Sorry but he's not this shows Jesse. And it's gotta tear Mike up just leaving Nacho out to die basically. But he is in the game. Nachos father isn't. And that's Mike's line.

Something I noticed from the first episode. The first part showed what would be Sauls house and no signs of Kim living there. Then in a later scene, Kim says to Jimmy that Saul Goodman should have a flashy car and a "Cathedral of Justice" He seemed to have both in that opening scene. Im wondering if that is some foreshadowing that something bad happens to Kim, and Jimmy honors her by getting the flashy car and cathedral of Justice she spoke of.

Slippin’ Kimmy/Giselle is a Walter/Heisenberg of this show.
The characters who started as “good” guys living a boring life, always strived to be more thanks to their weak parental figures. Both of them teamed up with the problematic partners who were being viewed by the society as “lowlife scumbags” comparing to the “good guys” like them. Both of them also introduced to the game (or in a simpler term, getting “corrupted”) by Jimmy in season 2 only to end up being the greater danger than Jimmy himself and became the ones to push Jimmy down further into moral corruption.
But most importantly, they are extremely prideful with the iconic quotes that nearly have the same meaning “You don’t save me. I save me.” = “I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger.”
