One of the things I always enjoyed about Ebert is when he loves a film his words are glowing reasons for why. Even when I don't agree I still like the enthusiasm.
That, and Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, The Lion King, and Toy Story. IMO. When it comes to which animated film is the "Greatest Animated Film of All Time", it's a debate between these 6 films.
30 years later (as of Jul. 1), A League of Their Own is still a classic and a gem of both American Baseball History and both Tom Hanks' and Geena Davis' filmography.
"Unlawful Entry" is/was fantastic yuppie horror ("Pacific Heights", "Desperate Hours", "Single White Female" etc etc). They simply do not make good yuppie horror anymore.
the first time i ever saw or heard of Rosie O'Donnell she was filling in or something as a VJ on VH1, i INSTANTLY could not stand her. and frankly i have never liked Madonna either as a person. she has had 4 maybe 5 songs i like but she has just always seemed awful to me. i know League Of Their Own was pretty successful and a lot of people love it, and i did watch it once way back when and do not really recall any of it. but having those two in it really makes it difficult for me to just watch and forget and escape for awhile.
Siskel was way off on Unlawful Entry. The cop being mentally disturbed & dangerous is what drives the character's obsession & simultaneously builds the suspense. He starts off clever & manipulative & starts to unravel towards the end as his obsession goes out of control. It's a great movie.
You think? I feel it's opposite. Gene gets his time, then when it's Roger's turn, he always wants to interrupt... Certainly respect them both but jus feel the opposite is true
A League of Their Own taught us “there’s no crying in baseball.”
Nobody says the name "Karen" like Ray Liotta.
I love Ebert’s “…I did play pool”
Damn Siskel basically just made it to where you don’t need to watch Unlawful Entry. Siskel flaw was he liked spoiling films he didn’t care for

I agree w Pinocchio is a Masterpiece! Only a couple can match it

Not always a big Tom Hanks fan ,but he did an outstanding job in this role and overall I thought league of there own was a little underrated.
Definitely overlooked at times.
Pinocchio is one of the greatest movies ever made.
I love The Adjuster, glad to discover I’m in good company
Now I want to see it.
Have I got this one?
Highway 61 and The Adjuster are two of the best-ever Canadian films!
"Unlawful Entry" is/was fantastic yuppie horror ("Pacific Heights", "Desperate Hours", "Single White Female" etc etc). They simply do not make good yuppie horror anymore.
Have you seen “the gift” great new yuppy horror.
@@benjaminpulanco Nah I haven't but I could always go for some yuppie horror. Did it come out recently or like a couple years ago?
@@hamupinhere 2015. It had Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall, and Joel Edgerton. Good film!
THE ADJUSTER & HIGHWAY 61 are great films, I enjoy A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN & PINOCCHIO the most 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Well said. I don’t think it’s a great movie, but I would say it plays out logically and it’s a thumbs up for me
Unlawful Entry is remake of a film from 1951 called The Prowler which is vastly superior.
I agree with Gene about Unlawful Entry. It went downhill at the end.
How so ? This was a psycho killer thriller. The only logical conclusion was a violent final confrontation.
@@ricardocantoral7672 I agree with you n ebert
It would’ve been random, but also hilarious, for salt n pepa to follow Siskel and Ebert! (I know it was recorded and all but still)
Unlawful entry is a very good movie. The 3 leads are all great
It was almost a perfect show except for that one thumbs down
It was sinful they made women play in dresses :(
My reviews: out of 5
1 " Unlawful Entry " 2.5 out of 5 👎
2 " Pinocchio " 3 out of 5 👍
3 " A League of Their Own " 3.5 out of 5 👍
Love these guys but upon more watches I realize Ebert always cuts off Siskel

jungle book and 101 dalmations were better.
Can upload these in a little better resolution?
A League of their Own is still trash
