Make no mistake about it, this is NOT on the Rays, this is solely at the feet of St Pete and Pinellas County for playing games. Dont get me wrong, i loath the Rays owner Sternberg, he is major D-bag, and a penny pinching miser, but this is not on him or the Rays. St Pete has NEVER been nor will ever be, a Major league city.

Only Miami and Oakland had lower average attendance numbers than the Rays in 2024. Why would St Pete want to spend millions to keep them, and why wouldn't the Rays want to leave? It seems to me the vast majority of Pinellas residents couldn't care less.

You know as well as I do the billionaires will find another city that WILL build a new stadium just to LAND the team and the hundreds of jobs which created thousands of jobs.. From construction, marketing, concessions, janitors, not to mention the baseball management, coaches, players, and grounds keepers. While the stadiums don't pay for themselves with rent, they aren't total losses either... The investments pays off with the economic activities surrounding landing or keeping a MLB team...

A lot of people are saying the owners should pay for it. Trust me , if you were an owner you would not be absorbing the entire cost either. The Rays being in St Pete is a win win for them and for the community in the long run . I’m certain if they look for a new place to go such as Utah or wherever , the city/state will gladly help build a new stadium .

Nothing about a dedicated football stadium works for baseball at all. If we were talking about one of the old multi use stadiums then that would make sense like Candlestick Three Rivers, Oakland Coliseum. And then there's the schedule and the making the field playable for football after baseball and vice versa.

You have to keep in mind that Ray J is also home to USF. IMO, it would be best to get the Rays out of St. Pete. bring them to Tampa. Hell, there was a stadium in WH that was torn down they could have repurposed and there's also a stadium in Plant City where the Reds played.

I don't see the Rays sticking around. Maybe Orlando if Tampa won't work with them but more than likely they are headed out of state. Charlotte? Memphis? Maybe, I'd add Oklahoma City to the list but the league would have to do some division realignment to make that work. We'll see.

And almost no billionaire wants to own a team known by the city of Tampa Bay but actually based in St Petersburg. Any new owner is not going to want to build in Florida with insurance rates on the rise, poor attendance on a regular basis regardless how good the team is and an increase in hurricane frequency. Billionaires look at long term viability and most don't see it with the Rays in St. Pete so if St. Pete and Pinellas County truly want the Rays to stay they unfortunately have to help facilitate it because the Rays staying is not good business. Steve Ballmer and no one like him will buy the Rays and invest billions of their own money into a stadium. It's not happening.

Let me in, children, winter is so cold
Grandma, December 5th, the journey is the destination
    Code winter sun
Snowstorm, a storm howls around the house, ice cold, roof tiles clatter.
The woolen socks stretched out towards the warm fireplace.
The whole family wrapped in frozen white blankets, warm each other and listen.
It begins with its quiet voice, as it always has, no one can remember otherwise.
The voice roars through the room, through the storm to the last crack in the boards.
Once upon a time, a long, long time ago...
An old white man with a long, white beard trudges through the deep snow.
Snow boots, white underpants, red pointed cap.
A marketplace like from childhood, a festival of lights for strangers.
His large, empty backpack clatters to the floor.
Bright moonlight. The finest, white snowfall from a crystal-clear sky trickles like dust and covers everything as if it wants to protect everything, shining like diamonds.
The engineer taps his lamp and shines it into the bucket, he is hungry, there is enough snow.
    A little angel flutters past.
Ruprecht's purchased payment card was fake.
    A bottle!
He lifts it into the moonlight, top quality, just a little fresh lipstick on it.
    His white hands tremble.
    Clink, into the sack.
    Alibaba stands there.
His snow-white teeth shine like gold to the moon.
His stiletto blade glitters like silver.
On the tip is a ten-dollar bill.
    My friend, you want paper?
    Stab, grandma falls over,
Hit in the neck, as instructed, and she is gone.
The white beard asks, how old are you, dwarf?
    Infinitely
I, am older, because I am who I am.
The little angels come back and whisper in his frozen ear, Grandma is home.
    You ask, and the children?
    Look in my sack.
    I have endless time.
And if they haven't died, then they're still alive today.
The fire in the stove goes out, he's gone.
A bright shooting star rushes silently across the entire sky and lights up the world.
    His path is the destination.
