I just purchased one. It didn't have the second battery but I did get it $150 off at Sam's for the Black Friday sale that's still going on. My local Sam's didn't have it but I was able to get it for home delivery. It's the best vaccumed I've ever owned! I vacuumed with my older one (a 3 yo Hoover) the day before it arrived and with the new Dyson after it came in and couldn't believe how much my old vacuum missed.
Same with NZ I didn't get a second battery when I bought mine last month. But I love it!! It is amazing not to lug around my corded model. Best purchase I have made in years 👍
I've always been a fan of Dyson since I convinced my grandparents to buy the DC01 Antarctica Solo in 1996 (I was 6 at the time, odd kid) so it's great to see them catch up again. On the list one the V6 we have dies.
All of my friends know I am a huge fan of Dyson. I have a Dyson Canister Vacuum. I do also have a reconditioned Kirby Sentara from 2009. My parents have a Dyson V7 and a Cinetic Big Ball Animal and Allergy. I am an Allergy Doctor, and I recommended that they have no filters to clean or replace.
SWEET! I have been wanting a Dyson, so bad!! But the price kept throwing me off! I'm a bit OCD, when it comes to my floors! My kids give me a hard time, by my interest & enthusiasm over vacuums! LoL Then this week, I see that Dyson is having a Sale! A GREAT SALE! And on my top of my wish list-1st choice! $150.00 Off!! The writing was on the wall. All the planets must be aligned?! The gods are smiling, down on me! Also, I've worked tons of overtime, since Covid19! (I'm a hospice nurse) The final push, was viewing your video! Three times! - SOLD! I'm grateful! And excited! I can not wait for it to be delivered! I appreciate honest, thorough research. And all you do! °Thank you °Thank you
For deep cleaning of embedded dirt, agitation is just as important as suction. The best way to get embedded dirt out of rugs is to vacuum them upside down to release the dirt from the backing and then flip them back over and vacuum them normally. Gravity with the agitation allows the release of deeply embedded particulates.
We bought the A11 Master Tineco vacuum and I noticed it didn’t give me those nice carpet lines like some do; so we went to Best Buy bringing our tineco (knowing nothing about the new v11 outsize) to compare it to the other vacuums. We spend about a good 2 hours throwing crumbs and goldfish on the ground while testing all the vacuums out and the v11 outsize was BLOWING us away ! It was an easy yes!! I’m so obsessed with vacuuming now and seeing how it gives those nice lines and deep cleans! I love using it on the tile as well, gets everything!
Thanks for the test. I just wish you'd included a loudness measurement at low and medium power, since that's what most people will be using except for occasional extra-thorough spots.
Steamrick remember that decibel is a logarithmic scale. Every 10 decibels is a doubling of sound pressure. Meaning this vacuum is over twice as loud on high than low. My problem isn’t using my v10 on low or medium... it’s the ear piercing sound produced on high.
@@KTMcaptain The very reason I replaced my V10 to V11 and soon... to V11 Oversize... got to protect my ears. I just can't stand the V10 sound at any level after using the V8.
I've taken to wearing earmuffs or earplugs whenever running a vacuum or any other power tool. My Dyson V11 Animal is the quietest vac that I've ever used, and I even used it without ear protection for a while, but I've switched back now after a while. I noticed a distinct audible difference in the sound level before and after cleaning the filter on the same mode and surface (auto, wood floors), so I also take care to wash the filter regularly. I'm doing that once a week now since I've got plenty of time on my hands to vacuum the house, and consequently, the filter gets clogged rather quickly. I wouldn't go anywhere near my shop vac without earmuffs on as it's quite the screamer. Ditto for my old, low-end, and since disassembled and recycled upright vac. Both of them measured at around 85 dB. The V11, which replaced the upright vac, is a lot quieter, but you still can't regain your hearing if you lose it, so hearing protectors are still the rule for me.
Great Review as always! Just so you know, I just received my V11 Torque Drive and it came with the clip on battery as well. Seems like Dyson is doing that to more models.
Great review. I have one and I love it (I'm planning on a second). With respect to the weight I have chronic shoulder and neck issues that cause daily pain but I found this vacuum doesn't exacerbate it at all and is very comfortable to use. The noise is also not an issue - not very loud at all.
All V11 sens now to come with clickable battery. My V11 Torque Drive came with clickable battery. For try with my V11 tonight and very impressed. I’ll open the torque drive door because the suction stick the head on the carpet
I’m loving my brand new Dyson 11 outsize. I know it’s too early to say...but so far I’m very happy with it. It’s advertised as the smartest, most intelligent and most powerful cordless vacuum Dyson has ever made. It has 2x the suction power of any other vacuum cordless. Deep carpet cleaning. Weighs less than a gallon of milk. High torque, smart cleaner head. Lifetime washable filter (which I love!) I love the 2 battery packs (w/ 2 different chargers, 1 hour per battery total of 2 hr run time). I can’t believe how much dirt it picked up. I had an older cordless vacuum and it just didn’t cut it anymore. And I hate carrying my full size Dyson up and down the steps. And the I don’t think it’s that loud, my older Dyson was louder. Now I’ll actually enjoy vacuuming more often 😂😂😂 I know its very expensive but I got it from QVC where they offer 6 easy payments.
I have the V11 Torque. I love it and my house isn’t that large so I barely touch 50% battery charged. I also enjoy using it to clean my car. I did buy a cheaper flexible tube off amazon and I use it with the pointed tube attachment head. The only downside is that my mother’s long hair gets stuck on the brush head. It gets so bad that the entire brush is black, but I have to say that I am lazy at pulling or cutting the hair out of it. I am still happy with it though and I came from a corded Dyson Ball Animal vacuum, having to unplug and replug around my house.
Great review. A subscriber said to me that this model existed, had to look for myself - can't believe they haven't released this over here, in the UK. Seems ideal.
They are afraid of battery life. I am sure in a few years when it is more optimized they will but in mean time you can buy after market trigger things that will do what you want for a lot of models.
I just use a cable Velcro strip to hold the trigger when needed especially when using the dog grooming attachment . Also using the tennis racquet over grip on the handle to increase the grip comfort.
Just received my dyson outsize this week and I find I miss having a light for hard floor surfaces. Found a light attachment recommended on RUclips that attaches to the flat side of the dyson floor attachment. Have you seen this? I would like your comments before I make a purchase. Thanks Debby Cates
I wanted to wait for you to release this video but their was only 2 left at my nearest store and when I got there only 1 so... I bought it. But still watching the full video because I love watching your video.
One thing I should add is that the Australian market version only comes with a _single battery_ as opposed to the dual batteries you get with this kit. Still gotta say though, she's a hell of a vacuum. Bought one recently and that sucker was pulling things out of the carpet i never even knew were there.
After having it for almost a year I’ve found that the battery packs started wiggling a lot more when clicked into the vacuum. I wish they had made it differently maybe like how other vacuums you drop their batteries into a slot so there is zero wiggle. I am contemplating on reaching out to Dyson because not only the battery packs are becoming loose, but the main tube is also having the same problem. Other than those problems the vacuum kicks ass. Picks everything up
The removable battery is the real game-changer. The battery takes several hours to recharge so not having a removable battery was always a pain on the older units if like me you have a large house and a 2-year-old who keeps it constantly messy.
This machine is the best purchase I’ve made for my home well worth the high price tag for the exceptional quality of cleaning! I’ve a got a 4bed end terrace with two flights of stairs and does it easily, only downside if I had to pick one would be it sucks up that much crap you need to empty it a quite a lot. Price is what you pay, Value is what you get!
This reminds me of what happened with cell phones along the way, where a lighter more compact cell phone was more desirable and sold at a premium. Then we started to go the other way with the advent of phablets aka large phones. I looked into this model, but ultimately decided on the V11 torque due to its compact size, which is the whole purpose of going the stick vacuum route.
Glad I found your video!! Ive been looking for a video that tells me more about hair! Too expensive for crazy amount of my hair. My struggle with vacuums.
Do you have to keep your finger on the power button while you vacuum? I wish Dyson would make a vacuum that would operate of you took your finger off the power button.
Great Job on the review I think you to the best review out there honest and to the point not try to put company s down or better this is important in this times especially a lot of paid ads and you never know is it right for you again great Job and Thank you
So basically, they realized that other cordless vacs were getting more attention and they decided to finally give us features. Though for that amount of money, I still want some led lights, a lighter vacuum, and the fluffy head included. I didn't buy the previous V11 because it was far too heavy. Very happy they have a removable battery now.
Cree Finley Dyson himself already said over a year ago that he’s done making corded vacuums and they’re focusing on cordless, as they think it’s the future. I know i prefer it.
I'm sure I would have to keep the gates open at all times to do carpets. I can barely push my V8 on my carpet so I end up hunching over to lessen the angle relative to the floor. My wife doesn't have an issue but she's a full foot shorter than me. I'm interested in this model specifically for the wider cleaning head.
Interesting to see what different versions of the V11 are offerend in other areas of the world. They certainly aren't offering the Outsize variant in Germany yet, although they did release new variants with the exchangeable batteries, though only with the standard bin size and torque drive head. I found it interesting that Dyson finally went back to exchangeable batteries, last found in, if I remember correctly, the DC34 series of cordless vacuums by them. It does give me another argument to sell them to the customers, as many were and still are asking for such a feature and I never really quite got why Dyson removed that in the first place. Anyway, I'll say thank you for your videos, as they do help me tremendously in my job setting in seeing what certain products can and can't do (I'm selling electric appliances in a German wholesale chain).
The reason they originally removed it was because of reliability issues. The battery would often not connect properly, so it would lead to a bad electrical connection.
In the Netherlands they also brought out the v11 absolute extra pro which also has a swappable battery but not the large dustbin etc. The absolute extra pro is €800
I had to check - same in Germany. It's probably available for all of Europe. That's really neat, though not worth the extra 300€ with the Dyson V11 Absolute sitting at 500€ atm. At that point, you might as well just buy two V11 and have redundancy in case one breaks down.
A month having this vacuum and I gotta tell yeah I am not confident in the batteries holding up. When you click them in, they wiggle a lot. Wish they had done something like Tineco where you insert the batteries into a large slot
I've had this machine for a month, and I do cleaning in offices. At this point, it's hard for me to think of a replacement. It gets me home and puts money in my pocket quicker than anything else I've owned, and there's no cord to deal with. What else can I say?
Great video! Do you charge battery after every cleaning or when it is empty? Because in manual they say that it needs to be charged after every clean even if half charge left.
Have you considered stepping the difficulty on your deep-clean test up a tad bit? Looking at standard gauging, you normally want your average measurement to be about in the middle of your gauge for accuracy and useful results. When most vacuums seem to be getting in the high-80s for a "bad" performance, it would suggest that the test is somewhat too easy to provide really good information?
Another Dyson?? My goodness!!! They are releasing them like smartphones these days. It looks good, but I think we will stick with our V11 absolute. Does not seem worth paying all that money to upgrade from the v11 absolute. Possibly from the v10 maybe. But not the v11. Great video by the way. Thank you 👍👍
Only reason i haven’t bought a dyson yet is because the single battery. Now it has two! But it misses the soft roller which i absolutely need because i have no carpet
So based on your videos I bought the Torque 11 and while I enjoyed the quick pickup, the larger pieces of stuff would remain, and I had to use my hand to reach up every time to help empty the container...the pet hair would get stuck on the rubber skirt...
Love this channel. I've made a few purchases now based off what you test. I would love a video that tested wet dry vacs against their advertised specs like horsepower seeing as that number is a lie.
I wonder if they would eventually make a large commercial capacity battery backpack with accessory holder and a cable to connection to the battery chamber of the Outsize to 1.) relief the weight of the hand unit 2.) easy access to all the small accessories without stopping to go back to the docking unit and 3.) allow longer runtime when running the machine on the highest setting for those who needs/wants them... as long as the motor is designed to handle the continues usage. Also a new cordless Big Ball canister vacuum with interchangeable battery ability that is able to run at higher suction power (a 24 Cyclone model?) for an hour while also able to carry all the small accessories onboard (not just two, all)... which is what my wife prefer as she went back to our good old 17 years old Miele Ambiente s334i canister vacuum again yesterday.... even though the body is heavier she does not have to deal with the weight at the wand and all the accessories are onboard in the canister right behind her wherever she goes. Heaver to go up & down the floor it may be but the benefit on the time one would spend on vacuuming each floor will out weight "no pun intended" the carrying effort from floor to floor. I have saw quiet a few reviews that elderly (baby boomer), people with arthritis and tennis/golf elbow who simply are not able to operate the Dyson stick vacuum due to the extra weight at the handle area. Time to thing for the future with a new cordless Big Ball V.3 Dyson!!
Seems like Dyson has quietly updated "normal" V11, so now has removable battery and the same suction power (220AW vs previous 185AW) as Outsize. Any chance for review update of regular V11?
So does that mean the regular V11 could drive the Outsize head? That would be an ideal combination IMO. Kind of expensive to buy that head though I'm guessing.
The v12 might just come with the battery not attached to the body , but hooked unto your belt/ body, to relieve the stress of your arm, my sister and mother-in law tested my v11 and deemed it too heavy for their arm and dyson can sell batteries of different sizes since it is hooked to your body, and fit a bigger motor to the main body
Great review...wish it had led lights...they help in dimly lit rooms to show the dust on the floor better. Which led lit cordless vacuum do you like the best (that passes smoke test)?
@@doge8676 yes that's what I mean. it is like my hair and beard trimmer.. i.e. regardless of the charging state of its battery, it can always be mains-operated. so power is not disrupted esp. if its battery is already on low charged state.
I have both the V11 and outsize. To me the extra pound is not noticeable. the trigger , in my opinion, requires less "force" to activate it than the V11. The outsize WILL FIT the floor dock stand the V11 has. The battery spec are the same betwixt both the V11 and outsize (same specs on the label). outsize is NOT louder than the V11. if you put the outsize head on the V11 you get similar run times on a fully charged battery.
When I bought my Dyson handheld the battery doesn’t even last 10 minutes on low. That’s the only problem I found with it the battery life I phoned them up numerous times they told me not to use any attachments whatsoever then it will last 30 minutes. But it does not they were lying
My Dyson was a V8 when it works it’s good but it doesn’t last very long I’m disgusted in how long the battery lasts i’ve had it for about a year it lasts about 10 seconds now it’s a load of garbage I would rather use my plug-in Dyson which is great
Why are some of your videos measuring airflow in cfm and others in fpm. It makes it incredibly difficult to figure out which has more power. Please use a standard unit of measuring across all your videos.
I've been using the V11 Outsize for a few days now, and I do have some complaints. I wish you could wall mount the second battery. Another dock in the box would have worked. I wish there was a rubber over mold on the handle so it was easier to grip the vacuum without it slipping. An extension hose included in the box for using the tools in handheld mode. You mentioned how it was difficult to use it in handheld mode with above floor cleaning. A battery display on the top of the vacuum (where the V10 power selecter is). Currently, if you wall mount it, the charging status indicator is the LCD display which is very difficult for shorter people to even see. Plus, the writing is upside down. A charging sound like on every single smartphone would have been nice. I also find the new trigger design to be less comfortable. I'm coming from the V11 Torque Drive.
I came to comment the same about wall mounting the second battery. I have a tineco, and the wall mount comes with the second battery charger built in. It looks good too.
@@sereneseries You can buy a second dock from Dyson, but it is $20. The bigger issue in my opinion is not including a flexible hose in the box. The vacuum is as powerful as an upright and has a dust bin the same size as an upright, but is impractical for using it in hand held mode. It is simply too big and heavy to do so. A hose would alleviate many issues.

I've owned several models but nothing compares to the V11.
Dyson work great as long as you don't mind combining vacuuming with a bit of weight lifting and finger strength exercise.
I think dyson v11 outsize is a “commercial cordless vacuum cleaner“ . Because it is bigger and has more powerful suction , but heavier than v11 .

Do you have to keep your finger on the power button while you vacuum? I wish Dyson would make a vacuum that would operate of you took your finger off the power button.
Thanks for the test I"m trying to decide between V11 outsize or miele HX1 Pro Infinity could you give me your opinion
Great Job on the review I think you to the best review out there honest and to the point not try to put company s down or better this is important in this times especially a lot of paid ads and you never know is it right for you again great Job and Thank you
I love this thing. My favorite purchase of 2020.
Thanks for the review! But too loud and heavy for the vacuum. LG Cordzero would be the best for me!
Yeah the removable battery is big, hopefully they listen to your other suggestions!
Cree Finley Dyson himself already said over a year ago that he’s done making corded vacuums and they’re focusing on cordless, as they think it’s the future. I know i prefer it.
Is the larger torque drive head compatible with the old V11 vacuums? It looks physically compatible but perhaps not electrically.
Very informative review. Thanks!
My corded Dyson multi surface 2 has suction so strong it doesn’t work on a carpet.
You should do more air purifier reviews
Does it sound like a blender?
Also thanks for the review. Looking into purchasing this!
Best vacuum reviews exist here
Thank you!
Assume you have the cleanest house.
And the most clear review / comparison.
Thanks.
Love your channel! Would love to see some of the Xiaomi Dreame stick vacuums tested!
Saving up for this one, need it so bad 😔
A month having this vacuum and I gotta tell yeah I am not confident in the batteries holding up. When you click them in, they wiggle a lot. Wish they had done something like Tineco where you insert the batteries into a large slot
Great testing and review as usual. So which is better this or the Riccar cordless?
I may need this, cheers for the great review
I've had this machine for a month, and I do cleaning in offices. At this point, it's hard for me to think of a replacement. It gets me home and puts money in my pocket quicker than anything else I've owned, and there's no cord to deal with. What else can I say?
Great Review and so timely! It would be super cool if they released a 25% bigger fluffy roller! You could clean your hard floors so quickly.
That is an amazing Idea, i want one!
This review was amazing
Finally a Dyson cordless with removable battery!! But I will wait to see if they make a slightly smaller model / cheaper model with it though.
Excellent review. My wife loves the look of this. We handled one at a local shop and loved it... except the price 😒
Good video. From your comparison screenshot, I didn't notice VAX. Have you tested these machines? They're a well known good brand here in the UK.
Thanks I'm Def Getting This Vacuum
The ability to lock the trigger say when in auto, so you don't have to hold it down and get tired, when be great for 12th version.
Love this channel. I've made a few purchases now based off what you test. I would love a video that tested wet dry vacs against their advertised specs like horsepower seeing as that number is a lie.
More powerful than the riccar?
The v12 might just come with the battery not attached to the body , but hooked unto your belt/ body, to relieve the stress of your arm, my sister and mother-in law tested my v11 and deemed it too heavy for their arm
and dyson can sell batteries of different sizes since it is hooked to your body, and fit a bigger motor to the main body
With the battery now removable you can just DIY it^^ or wait for someone to actually make a compatible cable and belt holder.
Great review...wish it had led lights...they help in dimly lit rooms to show the dust on the floor better. Which led lit cordless vacuum do you like the best (that passes smoke test)?
it is much better if Dyson would make a CORDED one too of their handheld vacuum cleaners like this one.
youtuber True. Or better yet, a version where the vacuum has both the option to be cordless and corded.
@@doge8676 yes that's what I mean. it is like my hair and beard trimmer.. i.e. regardless of the charging state of its battery, it can always be mains-operated. so power is not disrupted esp. if its battery is already on low charged state.
So you need to hold the button to use it?
I have both the V11 and outsize. To me the extra pound is not noticeable. the trigger , in my opinion, requires less "force" to activate it than the V11. The outsize WILL FIT the floor dock stand the V11 has. The battery spec are the same betwixt both the V11 and outsize (same specs on the label). outsize is NOT louder than the V11. if you put the outsize head on the V11 you get similar run times on a fully charged battery.
I saw this on the dyson website two days ago and was very surprised by the price. Performance was expected
Good job for 50K
Thanks for the review. Next one, Can you review Miele Triflex HX1 Pro .
I saw it. what do you think about it next to the shark and dyson?
Man I just bought the v11 , didn't know about this one but today
Dyson has a great return policy
