- Merry Christmas from the World of 2201!!
After providing years of nonstop service, with intel-based Macs being slowly phased out, and wanting a little more power, and having more finds available, I decided to buy a brand new MacBook that would last me for many years into the future that can handle anything I can toss at it. I also wanted to upgrade to one of the newer "NotchBook" MacBooks with their better port selection, amazing displays, and superior processors. To say this computer is a huge upgrade is an understatement; it has already proven its worth, and the amount of power and efficiency is off the charts. I've never seen a computer that can handle smooth video editing and rendering while on battery power, and that only drops maybe 10% at the most over the course of the hour that it takes. While the old MacBook will be incredibly useful as a computer I can take anywhere that can be tossed in a bag with no worries about doing any damage, for RUclips, this new MacBook will be completely taking over all production, as a matter of fact, the first video edited on the new Mac will be dropping at 5:00 PM, stay tuned!

How does the space black holds up as apposed to silver? Do you like it better?

So far the finish has been holding up well and hasn’t gotten worn like the edges of my old space grey MacBook which eventually wore to the point where it was silver on every edge and the palm rests both were discolored in the center, I’ll keep you posted if that begins to occur on the new Mac. The finger print resistance is definitely better too, though it’s not immune and you will still need to clean it occasionally. Personally I love the new finish, I like how dramatically it changes depending on the light, and I it fits my taste and has that ”pro” feeling. If you’re after something that will hide fingerprints and won’t wear out too fast, silver is probably the way to go.

I have a Mac Studio M1 which runs great with DaVinci Resolve software. I am going to going to replace Photoshop with another program.
The apple silicon computers all run video and photo editing software much better than anything else I’ve ever seen. Mine can smoothly run resolve and render video on the battery and it only drops maybe 4 percent at the maximum, and charging is also super fast so there’s not much downtime. I personally use Pixelmator pro for all my photo editing, it is a paid app but it’s a one time payment and it’s very capable.
