I think it's jocko wilink that said, "it's not about being right, it's about being effective ". You can't be both. Being effective is good for everyone involved. Being right is prideful. Effective is taking the pride out of it. I try an live this everyday which has been life changing!
I am the same way about having things tidy. It makes me very anxious when things look messy. It’s been the hardest part about having a child for me so just be prepared for when that time comes! You can try to do your best but it’s nearly impossible
I relate soooo much to the relinquishing control convo. I recently listened to Mel Robbins and the LET THEM theory and I have been trying so hard to follow it a little more to help my stress levels and learn to relinquish the control. Yall should listen!!
The tidy home thing literally is a problem in itself though. It's a control thing. For me, it's the thing I can control the most. And I hate messy! It makes my anxiety absolutely awful. But the stress of constantly having to straighten things perfectly, to have pillows just so, to have the house smell a certain way 🙃 it takes a toll. My therapist told me to leave the stuff for like a while and it's so hard. Like Amanda was saying- it's makes you so uncomfortable. It's literal anguish 😧
