I purchased a Kingsdown box spring and 14 inch pillow top mattress back in January 2006 and am just finally looking at replacing it. Best bed I've ever owned and worth every dollar.

I love how he say a quality product that won't "break the bank". My husband and I went mattress shopping over this last weekend and we decided to get a Kingsdown 2.0 red king size with an adjustable base after doing the SmartMATCH scanner from Bedmart. We also got a mattress protector, sheet set and two new pillows. We ended up spending $7,200.00 for everything. That was a little hit to the old bank account. BUT, this mattress is worth every penny we spent. Last night was the first night we have both gotten decent sleep in a while as our old mattress was old and needed replacing a long time ago.

Thank you for commenting and sharing your experience with Kingsdown. They defintiely have products that can be higher in price. For this video we only reviewed their main product line that we carry here at the Sleep Center at Furniture Fair. That being said, we are happy to hear that your new Kingsdown mattress has been a home run!

Mattress Firm only carries what’s called the Crown Imperial by Kingsdown, and the firm version is $5,000. Nuts. I’m trying it out, but so far, unsure if I’m keeping it. May be firmer than I can handle.

We bought a top of the line mattress and it is getting thrown out. After only a few weeks sleeping on it, we notices that the middle is so high we both felt like we were rolling out of the bed. We tried leaving it flipped over for a few weeks to flatten it out. No luck. We tried rotating it, and the lump at the head of the bed was now at the feet, but you still can snuggle in the middle, and we still feel like we are falling out. Kingsdown says body impressions are normal and we should accept this, but for $5,000 to get a mattress that you can't stay on comfortably is a tragic joke. Their "warranty" people won't even pick up the phone to speak about it,. they just blow you off by email after threatening that if you cut the tags off you are breaking the law (not true for the consumer). Don't waste your money.

We’re in CA and just learned about Kingsdown brand. I’m trying to find reviews on specific models we saw in a store but it’s almost impossible because I’m finding so many different names. It’s like Kingsdown renames similar mattresses based on which stores they’re selling them to. For example, the Passions line has many different models/names but unfortunately, I can’t find any info on the specific Navarino mattress I saw in store, except on the store’s website. Even so, haven’t found a single review.
It doesn’t do any good to read general Kingsdown reviews even within the Passions line if they’re not specifically talking about the same model.
So, do you know why Kingsdown has so many different names depending on which site or store I search?
My guess on the Navarino is maybe it’s discontinued and our local store just isn’t saying because I couldn’t find it on Kingsdown website.
    I’m so confused. Any ideas?

Hello Nancy! The reason why Kingsdown has so many names, is because they make their mattresses under private labels for various mattress retailers, like Ethan Allen & Havertys to name a few. They are more geared towards a custom mattress manufacturer for their retailers to fit what each individual retailer needs on their showrooms. That's what makes them unique to Furniture Fair when they partnered up with the bedmatch furniturefair.net/blogs/lc/bedmatch-test-how-to. Some of their mattress lines such as the passions line are sold at other mattress vendor locations. Only Furniture Fair and Bedmatch can partner you up with the unique experience and customized mattress fit. i hope this helps answer some of your questions, thank you and have a wonderful day!

@@furniturefair thanks. That’s what I kind of figured why there are so many different names. That makes it almost impossible for a customer to compare shop or even find reviews for a particular mattress if the same model can go by different names. I’ll contact the manufacturer and dig a little more.

Absolutely absurd! So basically they make a bunch of mattresses with different names and u can't pinpoint crappy reviews to any one model. Great. Guess im buying purple!

@@vexxedyouth87 actually, I stopped looking for info online and just tried the actual mattresses in the store. Got more info from a knowledgeable sales person. Then called the corporate Kingsdown office to ask more questions. I wanted to know what type of fire retardant they used because I didn’t want a chemical or fiberglass. Kingsdown uses a Kevlar fiber sock which encases the layers so that’s better than other fire retardant options.
We ended up ordering one and hopefully it’ll work out. It has to be better than the Avocado latex/wool mattress we’re returning. This thing stinks so bad. The latex smell didn’t dissipate even after 10 weeks. It may be eco-friendly but OMG…the smell is horrible.

I am trying to get more info on Kingsdown as I have never heard of the brand until I started my current new mattress search. I see in the comments that the brand is not good. Yet on every website that carries that brand there are excellent reviews with the avg star rating of 4.5 or higher. This is leaving me confused and that is coming from someone that used to sell furniture and mattresses.

      Hello!
They are a lesser-known mattress brand because they don't do a lot of national advertising. This allows them to keep their costs lower than most brands. They rely on retailers like us to promote their products. Kingsdown has a range of quality products, starting from promotional mattresses all the way up to high end luxury mattresses. My best advice is to find a local retailer that you can test it out for yourself.

Anyone who reviews the mattress without letting us know how big and over 180 llb to 200, 400 lb should only review for obese category people, people under 150llb have no problem with mattress, it does not sag. And also one should put model type in their review otherwise it’s useless review.

Thanks for your comment! While we are planning on doing more product specific reviews, this review is more of a general overview of the Kingsdown brand. Stay tuned for more specific model reviews!

This is silly. Back pain is rarely a sign that your mattress is worn out. It's a complex, multifactorial condition. Is there anybody reviewing these who isn't a salesman?

  • @aammssaamm

Kingsdown is a scam. It’s worse than my 10 yrs old sagged Ikea mattress I threw away. It keeps stinking, sagged after 2 nights and gives an unbearable pain to the whole body I never imagined a mattress could give. Especially at this price point.

If the mattress is defective, Kingsdown will replace it. The first one I had developed a ridge/sag after 2 years. I got a free replacement via manufacturers warranty. The replacement lasted about 5 years before it started to hurt my back. I just bought another Kingsdown today. It's their new hybrid model. It's perfectly comfortable in the showroom. Hopefully it lasts 5 years.

@@cleanairninja9256 With the same stinking like a chemical production one? 😂 Thank you. Your example is a perfect proof of the scam: the mattress should last at least 10 years, your first one did only 2, the second - only 5. Now you have to buy it again for the next 2 or 5 years.
