The trouble is that no Ozzie ever went the the Khe Sanh battle. It was a ruse for the Tet Offensive and only involved Yanks
The song and story are good but it could have been 'Long Tan'
Definitely, but the sentiment is that he "left [his] heart to the sappers 'round Khe Sahn" knowing how horrible of a job it was
Thought Aussie's didn't fight there the song is about all Vets of the time who went unrecognised, he left his heart to the men out there clearing the mine fields who may have never made it "home to the lucky land"
As decreed by the constitution I will be taking today off work to have a crack at this.
