So happy I found you, my problem is neighbors cats always use the little garden spot to the side of my door as a bathroom. It stinks when I open my door, I am tempted to feed them something that would make them sleep forever, but I am afraid to have to answer to God for it. I tried spraying vinegar, but they still come back, is there anything I can do to stop them from pooping at my door.

+Helen Gibbs My previous kitty used to accompany me to the bathroom; and the cat I have now does too, but only when she has to go. My boyfriend closes the door when he is in there all the way, so she can't go in. So if she has to go and he is in there, she lets him know his faux pa(w)s by going AT the doorway. LOL I keep telling him to leave it open just a little so she can squeeze in if she needs to!!!

+Helen Gibbs Lol one of my cats would do that. The cat when I was a child his box was on the balcony. Door always kept open. Needless to say after accidentally jumping off trying to get a bird the cat wouldn't go out there. So moved it inside between the kitchen and dining room. During my birthday party and cake eating time he decided to poop in the box and to say the smell was horrible was an understatement. Now it is hilarious, not so much at the time.

I have four cats and have never had one mistake anywhere. They all use their boxes with no problems. It amazes me how many people have trouble with this issue. Last year I took in a pregnant stray and raised her kittens until they found homes. I used puppy pads with the kittens for a couple weeks but besides that, no one ever peed outside of the boxes. I can't be lucky enough to have all the amazing cats in my household. I think the problem is exactly what Jackson is talking about. If they are content and happy, they are not going to upset you by peeing all over. I keep enough boxes and keep them clean enough that my cats have no problems using them. It's funny because my biggest male always uses 1 box that no one else will use. Then there is a boy & girl who always share a box. So weird... but it works

I was told by a vet that removing the lid from your cat box is a good idea if your cat doesn't like using the box. It really helped a friend of mine. As the vet explained, it's not normal or nice for a cat to be isolated in a box. And my cats definitely prefer the openness and will go when I'm there or when I'm not. That, I think, is a good sign.

Our bathroom is literally in the center of our apartment, so our little Kitana share our bathroom, since it's the natural place for it. Funny thing is, that one weekend we forgot about her litterbox, so it was full, (REALLY FULL), and she had done her business next to the box, but then she found the toilet paper and placed a large wad of it, over her mess... Having observed us, go to the bathroom, she has apparently connected poop and toiletpaper.
She never plays with the toilet paper, and it was pretty specifically placed, so it wasn't a fluke :-P

+Frank R. Haugen My late cat Morris was not trained to a litter box when I got him cause he was born in the forest and rescued. So he went outside to poop in pine needles,, but otherwise preferred being inside with the family when he adopted me. Once during a family emergency his access to the outside (window) was closed and I feared a big mess when I returned from hospital. He apparently figured out to pee in bathtub drain AND left his poop on top of drain. Since then, with teens running in a out, if he ever had his outdoor access blocked he went in the tub very neatly. If not for the poop you'd never know he went and my tub was spotless as a rule. Best cat ever. Never meowed either or made a sound you could call a meow. Had 7-8 toes on his paws. When I moved, neighbors complained about their flowers, so I had to train him to a little box. No training needed. He immediately did his business and never had accidents till the last week of his life. Neighbors problem wasn't the cat...it was the squirrels.

Two of our cats do not like to be watched when they use the litter box. They will stop and stare at you until you leave the area, then they'll do their business. They want the light off, too. Our third kitty (the youngest) likes to wait until I am cleaning the boxes to do his biggest, messiest job of the day. I have to stop mid-scoop, wait until he is finished, then he will stand there until I scoop it all out. I have long since stopped trying to figure it all out. I just do what they've trained me to do and peace reigneth.

so I've never had any experience owning a cat before, and prior to adopting my first cat, I did at least 4 months of research prior and your videos was a vital resource for me. I followed everything you have said, I did not get an enclosed litter box, I got the regular cheaper litter boxes that are not enclosed for my cat, and he has been doing very well, He loves me very much, he definitely has adjusted very well to my apartment. However, im pretty busy, im a full time student and on top of that im working 30 hours a week. I just filled out an application to adopt another cat, that way they will have each other while im gone and my cat wont so lonely while im gone and they entertain each other when I am unable to. Your videos have taught me a significant amount, it has helped me a lot.

Your wonderful for being considerate of the Cat as a person, I love your getting the cat a companion because of your thirty hour work week. Unfortunately, during my working years it never occurred to me the misery of loneliness I was putting the pet through but now years later I realize in my own loneliness without any pet to keep me company and home all day because retired,...So, I realize any person, cat or dog, is suffering to be alone all day, especially the 40/hours while I'm at work.. I did leave the radio on for the dog that I had, but I could not afford to have 2/dogs nor would my landlord have allowed. However, many people who desperately need a pet companion as I did but, also have to work also share my circumstance of not being able to have two pets. At least we provide a home for a pet who otherwise would be in a animal shelter or euthanized. And of course when I got home from work and on the weekends I dedicated all my time to my dog, wherever I went I took him with me. I hoped this compensated in some degree for his 40/hours during the week of having to be totally alone. WOW! That really sounds horrible. Nevertheless, the dog lived 20/years and we were Soulmates and he adored me as I did him, he loved me with every cell of his being till the very last moment of his 20/year old life.
I'm retired now so no pet that I have as to endure being totally alone again for long hours.

This just makes me rethink having cats in the first place. I definitely don't want litter boxes all over my house (and I unapologetically won't), and I think it's a preposterous, completely unrealistic idea, so I suppose that means that I wasn't meant to have cats in my home. Maybe I'll be attacked for this comment, but it is a genuine and honest one.

Honestly, I have two cats and one box in the bathroom. They seem to do just fine. We put out a second box in the bathtub since my female used to like to poop in there but neither of them ever used it. So, we just have the one, it is covered and other than someone occasionally peeing on the stairs leading inside, we don't have any issues.

It's really just a fact of life having indoor cats. My 3 cats (two male, one female) are part time indoor/outdoor (of course, they're all fully clawed) and we can get away with only two boxes during the summer. One is in our walk-in closet, and the other is behind a couch in the living room... Really, if you keep a box clean (meaning a scoop at least every-other day, the smell is fine. We only keep 1 air freshener on at a time, and it's on the opposite side of the house. Jackson's advice is fantastic and has amazing "rules of thumb" like the 1-box-per-cat-plus-one, but every cat is different. The rules aren't universal.

    • @Kelo60
      @Kelo60 10 лет назад +4

My cats have always done fine with one cat box. They have been using the same one for about 3 years and never once had a problem with them peeing or pooping anywhere. And if you have never had a cat they IMO are a great pet to have. mine are super loving and love to cuddle with me. Don't let the video make you think this is what you HAVE to do. Certain things work for different cats.

Having a cat means doing right by THEM. If something as important to THEM as litter is something you unapologetically refuse to comprise on I would STRONGLY STRONGLY STRONGLY say you should not get it a cat. It doesn't mean you are a bad person. Cats have needs, if you are unwilling to put the pooping NEEDS above your mere WANTS it means you should pass on cat ownership.
That said I have two cats and one covered litter box (no door) facing the world not the wall in the living room next to the tv and it works very well. I had two and three litter boxes but they always used only one so I put it where they used it and it's been that way since they were kittens. Sometimes I put a second one out and it never gets used.

You don't need to have litter boxes all over the house. You just need to experiment and see what your cats like. If you can't take the time to make your cats happy, you don't deserve cats.

I just wanted to add that a lot of cats have PTSD type reactions to any litter boxes with lids because of trauma with cat carriers. They develop a sort of claustrophobia. This was the case with my kitty, and we had to completely remove the lid and leave the box in the openness of the living room in order for her to use it consistently. A lot of people don't realize that closing up the box like that, or putting inside of decorative cabinets, can make also make the cat feel like it's trapped and can't escape.

    • @192Jennifer

Kait! I totally agree! I know if I were a cat I would not want to use a litter box with a hood on it and probably often would not, hence, the owner would think me misbehaving when it's really the owner's fault.

I have seen two of my cats use the same litter box at the same time. And it's a covered one. There was no drama, the cat in the back just patiently waited for the cat in the front to finish, and then they both walked out. I have more than one litter box, and my cats use both, but this one is the favorite.

Some cats are shy poopers lol

We have outdoor cats. Regarding the whole "Cats want privacy.", nothing could be farther from the truth. They follow me out to the garden to poop in the loose, sandy soil there. They like to be a certain distance from me, far enough away that I'm not a threat, but close enough to be under my protection. They often look at me as they poop, as though for reassurance. They're like, "Hey, check it out! I'm poopin' over here! Take a picture or somethin'!"

We run a cat rescue (21 cats) the best thing we EVER did was build a 10x12 "catio" in an area at the back of the house that was LITERALLY a mud pit. It's got a cement floor, heavy landscape mesh for two walls and a tin roof. It's built so that we can go in and pressure wash the floor if needed. The cats can access it through two cat doors set in the windows on the house side. The 4th wall has the door to the laundry room. We have shelves at different levels and cat trees as well for them to climb and sleep. It seems like the 4 ferals are constantly out there, but most of the tame ones love being out there too. We put a squirrel feeder and bird feeder where the cats can see them and watch the local wildlife. The animal control guy thinks it's the best one he's seen. Not helpful for folks in apartments, but home owners might consider one for their felines.

Same, we have littermates, the box is next to the human toilet and the act a bit miffed if we walk in on them. As babies they used the box together. Roxie NEVER covered her waste, her brother always did it for her. He often acted as if he was trying to teach her. They are 3yrs old now. Roxie covers when she wants to, otherwise her brother, Garcia always dutifully covers for her. They have NEVER gone outside the box.
BUT Garcia LOVES to kick sand out onto the floor, higher sided or covered litter boxes are only seen as a challenge. We had simply resigned to sweeping up the scattered litter as we scoop the waste at least 3 times a day.

I gathered that he wanted me to follow him so I went to the laundry room. There in his sand box was a giant turd, still smoking, looking like Bigfoot dumped it. Damned kids..... Kitty was quite unhappy about that. I dumped 10 pounds of clumping litter on it between gagging fits. I left the party early and took my Weed Whacker powered Margarita Machine with me. My kitties have no qualms about it and I don't have to worry about any odors, because I clean it out regularly. As for using air fresheners, I love scented wax warmers that fill my entire home with their fragrances. And I don't have to place it next to their litter box.

They don't want to have their own stuff obviously. So i got rid of the two litter boxes and got one big one. Never had any problems. I got many, many cat furniture over the course of 10 years. They all eventually got thrown out because they were never used. My cats like to be with me on my furniture. They don't use cat stuff. They're not like most cats who like their space. Yeah I appreciate people's opinions or advice on cats or animals in general but they don't know EVERY cat and their personality. It's not the same and if you don't do what everyone else says you should for your cat or cats it does not mean you're doing it wrong or abusing them. As long as they're happy and healthy and you're doing the best you can for them you're ok. Please I hope everyone doesn't feel awful because of overly obsessed and pushy animal people. Don't let others bother you and don't worry about what everyone thinks of you. If you have even one person who loves you and doesn't judge you because they know who you truly are then that's all you need. You don't need a ton of people in your life especially if they're negative. I'm not even hating on this man's video because my point was opinions said to a point and advice is ok but it's when people judge you and push you and act as if you're abusive just because your ways are different is not ok. We need to remember to respect others and their beliefs and lifestyle as we just respected theirs. I don't mind learning new things and hearing people out but it does not mean that I have to do what they're doing as well or agree with them. That also doesn't mean that I don't like them. Boundaries are healthy and we shouldn't cross them especially with strangers. A little bold lol and a lot of people think they're experts because they heard from others or because they have their own experiences. That doesn't make them a professional and even professionals can be very wrong. Everyone learns new things daily of how to improve things and themselves too. That all said I do personally agree with a lot of what's said in this video of that it is the best usually and can work for most cats BUT there is always the exception which is just different cat personalities and that's understandable and ok if they don't care. I mean it is about the cat's happiness so if they're cool about lack of an extra litterbox box then they have spoken lol. Have a great day.

@@esmeraldahernandez1018 yes I'm sure. Usually you notice he was too young to be taken away when he's at a much later age and it'll be in behavioral issues. Cats are survivors and kittens often won't show it but they still learn so much socially from their mother and siblings until about 12 weeks old. My young rescues are definitely more difficult than my kitties that I got at 14 weeks who were able to stay with their fam. I too had to learn this, not blaming you for not knowing!

Nice advices, but I follow practically none of them.
I have 3 cats. ONE litter box. A hooded one. However, I got over my past lazyness and I clean it EVERY MORNING before feeding time. No more mess! Also, the litter box is, in the passageway, at the entrance of the kitchen right beside the pantry. Seem weird, but it's the only good spot. Also, many times, a cat will do his business with the head out of the litter box, with that funny smug expression on their face. Finally, of course once I clean the thing, a cat must come and mark it. They even take turns to do it!

We are so so lucky that all four of our kitties share the single one litter box, which is a large transparent storage box that we keep inside the laundry. It’s tucked away between the washing machine and the sliding glass door that leads to the yard, has plenty of sunlight during the day but very private at the same time. We clean it twice a day, more often if I am home and someone does a stinky one :) we use clay based kitty litter that is super effective at clumping and odour control, and we like to keep it piled quite high inside the box so it’s manageable even after everyone has gone and done their stuff. Our cats never complain about the arrangement, in fact they even wait in line rather patiently for their turn and it’s super cute to bump into a kitty box queue on some mornings.

Think outside the litter box "box". I didn't even buy a litter box, I found an old tote box in the garage, or you can buy a tote at thrift stores, yard sales, or pretty inexpensively at Walmart. You can buy a 40 lbs bag of wood pellets at a farm store for around the same price as a small jug of clay litter, and it will last you MUCH longer. You can make you own cat toys. You can get "basic" veterinary care at Tractor Supply stores on certain dates. Animal Control has low cost shot clinics a few times a year. All these things save valuable money that can be spent on a good quality food and veterinary care when needed.

I did a little experiment with interesting results: for the first time in 3 years, I found cat poo outside the litter box, twice within the same week (I have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes one next to eachother in the basement bathroom, which I cleaned twice a day). Watched this video and, wanting to rule out behavioral issues before bringing them to the vet for urinary health check-up, I bought a third box and put one box on every floor of the house (left one in the usual spot in the basement, placed one in the living room, one in the guest bedroom where the cats hang out a lot too). For 3 days, the basement box hasn't been used at all! I'm not saying the basement was the culprit but clearly, when given options, it's not their preference. I noticed an increase in feral cats around the house, which could definitely be contributing to their stress. But if after one month, there are no episodes of inappropriate elimination, at least I'll feel better that it may not be a physical issue. We're moving to a new house in a few months (which will remove the feral cat issue) but I think I'll follow Jackson's advice and leave one box on each floor so I'll need a 4th box, which would be best for 3 cats anyway. Thanks for the advice, Jackson!

#1 problem = covered litterboxes; So many cats, especially if large won't use a covered litterbox. firstly, if there are other cats in the household, a covered litterbox is a trap, 2) if the cat is large, a covered box may not be tall enough. Many cats prefer to defectate in an upright position--a covered box won't allow them this position. Litterboxes should be large enough to allow 3-4 " of litter. You need a box 8+"" high. Say "no" to dinky boxes.
#2 problem = Dirty litterboxes. Good general rule of thumb: 1 cat, scoop box(es) once a day. 2 cats, twice a day, 3+ cats, 3x a day. It takes all of 3-4 minutes to scoop a cat box..do it. Morning, when you get home from work, before bed. Use a scoop with large holes for the first scoop, use a scoop with smaller holes to get the crumbles (which still produce odor).
#3 problem: bad location. Don't put litterboxes near cats' food or water or bed. A cat in a multi-cat household should never feel trapped going to a box. Boxes should always have an escape route.
#4 Stalkers. Some cats are stalkers, always following another cat to the box. Solution is to have multiple boxes and put a bell on the stalker cat so the other cat can be alerted when the stalker is approaching. The more submissive cat (the stalkee) should never have a bell or tags that jingle.

I bought a covered litterbox because I kept hearing that "cats like privacy" when doing their business. My cat held her pee for 12 hours before I figured it out and removed the cover. No, they don't need privacy - mine poops without shame, doesn't really care who's watching. I'm surprised she doesn't make direct eye contact when she's doing it tbh.
We keep her main box in the bedroom, since she spends most of her time there. It doesn't smell at all since it's scooped often - her dry food is actually smellier than her eliminations, lol.

Jackson, I have only 1 Litter box. I clean it out 4 times a day, sometimes more if it's needed. All 3 of my kitties wait their turn. I have a curtain at our utility room door. One cat goes in, does it's biz, comes out and the next one walks in until all 3 have done their "dooty". First thing in the AM if it's not clean, they will all sit there and stare at me and I know it's bad in there since they love to do their "dooty" at night when it's quiet. The one jumbo size litter box works perfect for all. Unscented Scoop-able Walmart litter and sometimes I throw some arm & Hammer in there to freshen it between changing. My husband came up with a name for the room. Pooparatzi Room. Plaque to be made this spring to hang over the door.

That just means 1 cat is better for you than 2+ cats. It's also not the best idea ever to have a cat inside a small apartment that won't fit 2 liter boxes as cat needs space.
I don't know why multiple litter boxes are that expensive. You can find most litter pan/box under $5 each. You definitely don't need tray liners. Arm and Hammer sells some of the cheapest cat litter I know. If you just get rid of the cat waste frequent enough, the litter is going to last for a week with only 4-5 inch deep of litter. I use Fresh Step Scoopable, I definitely want it to last through the week, so I check their litters 3 times a day. At the end of the week, dump everything out, and you will see that you don't need the liners at all.

ooXChrissieXoo The problem is more like, where do you put two litterboxes so they won't stand in the way. But really, two litterboxes for one cat is BS. I've always had cats and two can easily go on one toilet. Yeah, you can spoil your cat as much as you want but who says they need it. Of course it's the BEST to put a litterbox in every corner and toys and climbing trees all over the house, but it's not a priority. Besides, every cat has different wishes. Some are easier than others. Buying all this stuff for your cat doesn't make a you a good owner, giving it the attention and care it needs does.

It is painted neutral color on the inside for her and a colorful design on the outside for me. She DOES NOT LIKE TO BE OBSERVED when using the box so I respect her privacy. I think if your not having problems with litter boxes and your cats not using them. Then find a place to put out more. If just one works you should be okay but he says that having the proper number will solve any problems you are having. So if you have no problems you should be good

Lynn I personally would say no. I’ve sat with my kitten all day and while they do nap for a while they are also incredibly busy and spend a lot of time running around. If possible I would talk to your cleaning lady and inform her about you cat. Maybe if needed you could restrain your cat into a smaller room so they can’t run out the door on the lady but I would not suggest locking up your cat all day long with no mental stimulation.

Yes I figured that scenario would be too long. Might get a cat but still trying to figure out logistics as I would be first time owner!

I must have a fantastic cat. His litter box is in the basement, which is the only place he can get to where the dog can't. He has a little cat door on the basement door. His litter box is not out in the open, but he's so good about using it! We never have problems with him peeing or pooping where he shouldn't, unless he gets accidentally locked in one of the other rooms! I feel lucky to have this guy.

Before I saw this a couple of days ago my cat peed in my laundry basket. Well I thought, why? 1. Litter box is top entry (looks a lot like a laundry basket) 2. Litter box is dirty (I asked my bf to clean it when I was busy, didn’t happen) 3. There is only one (we moved recently and haven’t added more since we left them behind) How did I fix this? 1. Took all the laundry out and dowsed it in vinegar. 2. Remove the laundry basket. 3. Put a temporary litter box in that spot she peed in.
    4. Added one more next to the couch!
All you gotta do is ask why and fix those wrongs!

We had one litter box in the bathroom when we first adopted our cat, and when we let her out into the rest of the house, we put another in the living room. It made her SO much more comfortable out in the main space of the house, and she uses both of them regularly now

YES! We have two kittens (6 and 7 months) and one cat (8 yrs). They two of them spend waaaay too much time trying to bury their messes. At times, one leaves the mess on top and does not bury it all all.
To solve the mess, I put a thick, tightly woven blanket, under all three boxes. At the end of the day, I move the boxes, pick up the blankets and pour it all back in.

I put my box in a larger cardboard box, about 6 inches each side larger than the cat box and about as tall as the cat box and it catches all of the stray litter. I have three cats and two litter boxes and the only accident I had was when one of them urinated on the floor in another room. A trip to the vet confirmed my thought, she had a UTI.

I did all of this and this old cat still wont use the boxs! I'm not mad at the cat, don't hate the cat, don't hate that there is a litter box in the middle of my bedroom were she likes to mark. I just wish she would just use it. I picked up a 14 - 15 year old with special needs and she may never use the box. Yet some how she got it into my boots. I switched from unscented to pine wood today. I'm highly allergic to pine but she seams to now have at least a little internist. Today she peed nest to the box and she got a treat for close enough. I have accepted my fate. As long as the cat is happy I did my job, she doesn't have much time left. I seem to always gear to the oldys.

My 18 y/old cat recently started having litter trouble due to his arthritis. The vet recommended using disposable cookie sheets so he just step write onto the pan and do his business. I tape a disposable litter bag over it and cover it with some litter. I change the litter and bag once a day and get a new tray every week. They also sell plastic trays at the pet store that are meant to hold Puppy Pads (one is shown in the video). You could try using that with someone litter too. Unfortunately there will be litter tracking but that's unavoidable. Good luck!

Is the box low enough for your cat so it's easy for a clumsy old kitty to climb on it when the need arises? Just a thought. My fat cat does not approve boxes that have the edges too high. When he needs to go it needs to be super easy. Also older kitty could already have some memory issues or bad vision or might only approve a certain type of litter. Could also be a medical problem or she is feeling unsafe. Have you tried using feliway around the house?

My 19 year old cat has intervertebral disc disease. She's on medications to manage her pain so she can walk but has difficulty getting in and out of normal litter boxes and was having lots of accidents. Even the domes with the ramp in are hard for her to get out of unless it's filled to the brim with litter. My vet recommended using the bottom half of a hard cat carrier so she could walk in which made a big difference. I used litter box liners to contain everything. I made her a second box by cutting an opening in a plastic tote and sanding the edges to keep them smooth. It has a small lip at the bottom to keep the litter in and it works great for her.

If the pine litter is causing you to react, there is an excellent clumping one made with grass. It has the best odour control of all the types I've tried. My cat really likes it to the point he will nibble on some when I put in a fresh batch!!! The clumps dry harder than normal though, so you'll need a sturdy scoop. Okocat makes a great wood pellet litter that doesn't track and controls odour for a long time. I think it's a wood blend, so it might be less aggravating for you. I agree with the tip to select a litter with lower sides so she can access. I think there's a diy vid on this channel to create one with a storage tote.

very enjoyable reading these coments. i think it shows the distint personalities of each cat. my hairless uses odorless clumping cob or pine, he has allergies and asthma .i have found that using baking soda really helps with odor, and sir winston loves it. as others mentioned he prefers the toilet area location ,and goes in with me using his litter box at the same time

I have 1 cat and 1 litter box which has been in the same spot since it was a kitten, next to a toilet I rarely use. My cat has never pooped or peed anywhere else. If it sees me while doing its business, it'll usually stop until I go away, clearly wanting privacy. Don't assume all cats behave the same. Animals, humans included have different personalities, especially house pets (also, humans included lol) who adapt to their owners.

KatMch my cat is like that too. I think she prefers the hooded litter box that my mom let me have hers after her new apartment didn't have room for it (it was one of those igloo looking ones). My cat also had this obsession of walking on the edge of the open box and would dump it at least once a week sometimes. When I was offered the igloo litterbox I brought it up to my boyfriend he agreed to give it a try (she was his cat first). Once she figured out what is was she would only use that one. She was a little scared of it first but I took the top off for her and set her inside. She immediately started digging in it so I left the room for her to use it. When she came back out I placed the top back on and she has used that one since. After about a week of no use we ditched the other one.

Haha, I’m doing everything wrong 😂 I only have one litter box for my cat, it’s super out of the way and there is only one “escape route” out of it. I use scented kitty litter and I do have a dog too but my amazing cat doesn’t care. She’s good with our arrangement, she never pees outside the box, she doesn’t seem to care if I’m watching or not, she doesn’t care about the dog, she seems to even like his company. She’s a 5 year old rescue, I’ve had her for a few months now and she’s been lovely, outgoing and confident cat from day one. She even lets me clip her claws without any fuss. She’s just a perfect cat I’ve been wanting for 30 years and my dreams came true ❤️

my cat only had one litter box that was really big with deep litter, that's how she likes it. this summer the heat was getting to her more than normal and she started lying in her litter box to cool down, even on top of her poop and pee (yes, i took her to the vet to make sure she wasn't sick.) so i made her a second litter box that is smaller with a different type of litter, and put it under the bed which was one of the coolest spots. she took to it easily and used it as her lying in to cool down litter box and the other one as her toilet. she's so smart!

+Seth Hamilton i swear my cat saves his poop until i get home from work, EVERY day XD lolol. our usual routine - i get home from work, set all my stuff down, give him pets, he runs off & does his thing, i'll sit and watch tv on my couch, like 15 minutes later - he ALWAYS poops right in the litter box next to me XD lol. i guess i should take it as a compliment? he feels comfortable enough that he WANTS to poop right next to me XD lol. but i'm always like come on cat, i just worked a looong day, i finally get to lay on the couch for awhile & now i need to either get up & clean up up your super stank, or sit here & nearly suffocate from the stench -_- lol. kitty gives no fucks, kitty needs to poop with hooman there -_- lol. love my little turd machine dearly though! guess it's better than letting it sit and stink up my apartment all day! haha. oh cats, our funny little beasts.

There’s nothing more disgusting than going into someone’s house and seeing a filthy litter box, it seems most people will only scoop once a day at the most. My cats litter box is in my storage closet, the door is always ajar and more often than not she lets me know when she has been. I live in a small bachelor apartment and am retired, still, like to keep the box clean.
