I hate how they let Irene live and had no closure. Even if she's hiding in fear she can find a way to take revenge. They should've killed her too
this was my favorite becuase it was based off of the slavery of africans but instead of just going along with what there masters were saying they revolted imeadiately
tbf if real life slaves could randomly turn invisible and slaughter their unprepared masters they probably would too. When slaves revolted in real life (which absolutely happened), even if they killed their direct masters other slave owners/local (or even national) governments would rally a much larger force to crush the rebellion before it could spread, then brutally torture and execute the rebelling slaves and likely any slaves who knew of the rebellion. This worked because the McAllistair's were the only magicians to own fairy slaves - if it was a widespread cultural thing for magicians and news of this was likely to cause tens of thousands of magicians to rally together and exterminate the fairies, the choice would have been less simple.
But yeah, it's incredibly satisfying to see both of the groups involved in this get exactly what they deserve (freedom for one, dying in terror for the other).
