Athletes train their bodies to run faster, jump higher, throw farther -- so why don't they train their minds, too? Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson talks about the power of "neutral thinking," which helps him thrive under pressure (both on the field and off) -- and shows how you can use this mindset to make the right moves in your own life.
The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). If the whole world class athlete thing doesn’t work out, he should be a motivational speaker
Agreed @hmb
He’s already in demand for motivational speaking anyways. Literally hundreds of companies all over the world have asked him to speak. His energy is one of the reasons he has partnerships with companies like Mercedes Benz and Amazon.
Russell Wilson is a special person who inspired many. Good talk.
He's a stoic man, applying stoic philosophy without talking about it, like you're supposed to do.
The people say its a sin to watch sports and play sports
I'm not a sport guy. But I'm less than an hour from Seattle.
Nice to see a prominent figure inspiring people. Pleased to meet you, Mr. Wilson.
The real answer for most things in life is practice (preparation). You do something long enough and it eventually becomes second nature.
watched this multiple times just to get a deeper understanding about shifting to neutral and focusing on this this this and not the mistakes or misses! amazing gems! thanks Russ
❣️love this transparency. Thanks for posting
WE have up and downs that we need to deal with. These make us better people with understanding, compassion and experience.
Thank you for sharing your story 🙏
I appreciate him for opening up. He’s right, though. We all experienced that negative self talk. The simplicity of challenging it, it can go along way.
Another helpful vid. Thanks, TED

0:09 Oh... So the applause of the introduction of all Ted talks is just an audio effect? It's quite disappointing...
😂How else could the applause always be equivalent to each other? But it would indeed be better if it were real, however it’s just a small detail...
💖💖💖

Well, he was the highest paid player in the NFL haha
Still don't know how he wins games without an o-line but ok.
Simping take a divine level of focus. Imagine being a multi millionnaire athlete only to be Future's son's baby sitter 😂😂😂😂
Wow lol
And I think you meant baby sitter right lol
@@S7jose that's the one 🤦🏿♂️😅
Bro you got young dizz as your pp and you’re in a yt comment section speaking on a man who’s done more in his life than you’ll probably hope to in 2 lifetimes. Rearrange your priorities man, stop wasting your time and go chase the bag
Look for the second pair of eyes.
And then you throw the ball into traffic and into the arms of a Patriot.
Nice performance under pressure.
I hate the pats but Lolz
@@copasetic216 me too
Change your music
I wish i was dead.
single rebel , why? You have so much to live for.

your secret is a hormone called adrenaline..should do the trick for most people handling great pressure...
Wonderful. More stuff like this... less posts about the corona virus and Bill Gates, please. We need more hope, not fear.
He choose to pass instead of running wtf is he talking about
They released this because he’s no longer the highest played player in the NFL💯
A player dynamic as him really shouldn't have a personality more boring than a piece of cardboard.
