I love their evolution videos because they are one take…and sung live versus a professional music video which is lip synched to the studio recording. Their transitions with all their medley videos are killer. Kevin (beatboxer) is probably the most musically talented of the group. Not only does he have a beautiful tenor voice, but he is a classically trained cellist (other instruments too, but we get to see his cello the most) who pioneered the art of ‘celloboxing’…playing cello while beatboxing. He performs his own arrangements of typically classical pieces on tour. If interested the most current is ‘Kevin’s Fifth’ which he performed on their most recent tour in 2022 - ‘Christmas Spectacular’. Look for the livestream version as it’s the best quality. For a bonus, he also speaks Mandarin fluently and graduated pre-med from Yale.
Yep, Mitch is a wonder. And he raps. Check out their cover of Problem. You may also be interested at some point in watching Recording Evergreen, a mini-doc about making a recent Christmas album, one that was nominated for the most recent Grammies (although they didn’t win). It’s interesting to watch the process. Loving your PTX reactions. Peace from Ohio …
If you want to see PTX have fun, then their versions of 'Can't Hold Us' and 'Thrift Shop' (Macklemore/Ryan Lewis) are great, as is their original 'Sing'. To get the full PTX vocal experience, it has to be 'Run to You', another original. It's beautiful!
Glad you liked this. I love the evolution videos - the Beyonce and Ariane Grande ones are fantastic too. I love the fact that they sing them live as one take (they record them a few times and pick the best one). You won't get any argument from Pentaholics on how angelic and extraordinary Mitch's voice is. He's a once-in-a-generation talent. Lots of people say Dimash has the best voice in the world and technically he is phenomenal but his voice doesn't move me the way Mitch's does. You need to watch their version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Brian May loves it and says it's one of the best covers he's ever heard of it. They waited 6 years before they did that one because they wanted the arrangement to do the song justice. Wait till you see how they do the guitar solo!
Watched all your PTX reactions. Subbed for more PTX content. With all their covers, originals and Christmas music to choose from you’ll be busy for quite some time. Others have given excellent suggestions for what to react to next. I’ll leave that up to you. Consider reacting to their Sing-Off competition season. 12 episodes that introduce them and follow their journey getting to know each other, their gifts and strengths. Magic happens…stars are born.
When you are ready you should check out their live performance at Pop Spring 2016. It is professionally recorded so great sound. It includes three of their original songs as well as you will get to hear Evolution of MJ done live. It is wonderful.
Love your reactions to Pentatonix!! The three main vocalist were in the same high school choir together so have sang together for many years. PTX takes acapella to a whole new level! The more you hear them, you will find they have a "Wall of sound" that will shake you to your core. Their upgrade of John Lennon's Imagine is a great example!! Also recommend Sound of Silence, Mad World, Can you feel The Love Tonight, Bohemian Rhapsody, and their originals Be My Eyes, Love Again and Cracked. Subbed for more Pentatonix 😍
You seem to going down the PTX rabbit hole! I am here for it! Bohemian Rhapsody, Image, and Daft Punk medley are essential listening! Stay safe, stay sane, stay strong
Love their evolution videos, with everything stripped away and just their talent on display. I’d love to see your reaction to Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, you break everything down and pick up on so many things. It’s a masterpiece, just too short for my liking
They still do this live. Live, Scott tends to soul riff some awesome stuff into arrangements. Matt too especially when he’s doing older Avi parts, enough homage and then the Here’s Me. They do not miss a beat live, but personalities shine.
Why don't you start with their 3 Grammy wins? Daft Punk, Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy, and Jolene with Dolly. You will be amazed. Their Daft Punk was done in one of their kitchens on a $400 budget. It's really cool. Dance is unexpected and amazing, and Jolene is with one of the greats. Enjoy! I'll be watching with you.
The live version of this medley at Popspring will blow you away. They are amazing. My favorite Pentatonix Evolution Of... video is "Evolution Of Rihanna". Please react to it when you get the chance.
PTX always leaves you wanting more! Their arrangements are by Ben Bram, their collaborator since their first appearances on The Sing-Off. Subscribing for more Pentatonix.
@@Masq1980 it is good but the live version is better as Mitch really is hyped up. More subdued in the official video plus the live version has that intro that shows off Avi
new here from ireland. can you please react to pentatonix. the sound of silence. new rules. cheer leader. gold. love again. the prayer. sing. havana. radio active.
Sound of silence and Amazing grace... PERFECT
If you'd like to see this live, I'd suggest their PopSpring Concert (MTV sponsored). They do the medley along with three original songs.
Yes, this is a great live! Sound by MTV, so the balance is great!
Concur - check this out. It's a good intro to the atmosphere of their live concerts.
Love "That Guy". Once in a generation voice!!

IIRC...they do four complete takes of the medleys and then decide which one they want to use.

It’s been said Mitch has a once in a generation voice, he was teased about his voice when he was growing up from what I’ve been told by fans

And I'm the lucky one thousand subscriber! Can I please win more Pentatonix? Hehe, had to subscribe to the channel, for more! Also love the commentary
PTX is simply amazing
Genius arrangement

Insane transitions!!!My favorite Evolution video is Rihanna. Mitch does have one of the purest voices I've heard.

You need to see Imagine.

Impressive review as you caught many of the nuances that others miss, particularly for the first time through this medley. Thanks
Love your smile when Kevin was singing so sweet!!
How many times can you get "Mitch slapped" in one song!?!
Loving how well and quickly you articulate/describe what you're hearing and feeling; refreshingly efficient!
Subbed. More PTX please. Kevin cello-boxing in Shallow is a banger. Or their version of S&G's Sound of Silence. Or anything. I need my fix.
The live version of this medley at Popspring will blow you away. They are amazing. My favorite Pentatonix Evolution Of... video is "Evolution Of Rihanna". Please react to it when you get the chance.
I think you are many times "Mitch slapt"🤣😂

Always more PTX. All of their Evolution videos are awesome. Eventually you will have to react to Superfruit (Scott and Mitch).
Thank you!! I look forward to reactions to PTX from those who understand and appreciate their remarkable talents! ❤️
Great reaction! For some fun check out Wizard of Ahhhs, and their original Sing. Great stuff
I need you to put together an playlist sir! 😅❤
Yep. You got Mitch-slapped! Lol.
I enjoyed so much , i subscribed !!
Please react to one of their original songs “SING”
Also check out their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody
Are you ready!?!
For a Mitch slap watch Aha Singapore version. It will knock your socks off
Though I would suggest doing the official video first though

You will love the live performance of Popspring 2016. I think their live songs had a better sound. Try it, you'll like it
Great reaction. Try mad world and an ordinal or 2 run to you and love again.
Go birds🤭🦅🦅
