I thought Buckley would win, but I wasn’t expecting to see how far Wonderboy’s reflexes are from what they were. He was getting caught by leaping hooks and overhands. Tough to see.
He’s always had a terrible habit of exiting without defense. Rory McDonald hit him with a huge hook in round 5 of their fight, but Wonderboy’s chin could take it then.
Also WB is very active. He trains in the morning, teaches their children's karate in the after noon, then trains in the evening. Dude doing two a days daily.
I was impressed by Buckley's stance, movement, and ability to close distance so quickly. That adds a lot of pressure. Would like to see a video about that too.
What Buckley lacks in technical skill he makes up for in athleticism. He has very good cardio too. Dude could probably compete in the Crossfit competition if he wanted to.
Wonderboy still has it he just didn't have the power to stop a charging Buckley. Wonderboy's speed, timing, reactions, accuracy, footwork it was all still there. Watching him tag Buckley as he charged with precise shots was lovely but Buckley was able to walk through them. Drop levels to faint a TD and squat jump his whole body into a hook from hell. You can't even say anything against WB's chin. Only been KO'd twice and last time was 5 years ago and this time well... that punch would have KO'd anybody. Still I don't like seeing him get hurt like that and as he's not getting a titleshot again he can either take fun fights with strikers in the top 15 or below or call it quits. It'll be a sad day when he chooses to retire but he's earned it.
Great breakdown as always. Especially always the ones you don’t see coming that end up shutting your lights out. Wonderboy is and always will a legend in this game. Hopefully he can get a w in his next fight.
Damn that's a shame, love Wonderboy. But I felt like in his past few fights he wasn't aggressive enough, he moves great but you still gotta lay down the leather. I always thought he should have invested more into grappling.
The statement at 1:57 says LOADS about how good your defense is Gabriel. The casual observer would not understand how impressive this is considering the level and caliber of fighters that you have competed with!👍🤙🖖
I think he was really caught off guard, obviously by the gazelle hook and the distance Buckley covered, but also by the odd timing at 1:19. His reaction looks to me like he was expecting a rear cross on the step before the shuffle.
Wonderboy was not pumping out that side kick when his opponent was coming forward as he usually does. I ways thought wonderboy needs a judo coach. He always ends up against the cage in the same position, if started landing some big throws I think opponents would stop pressing him against the cage and smothering his striking.
I'd like to see Stephen retire. He seems like a great guy. I'd hate for him to suffer with long term damage, when he has so much to offer outside of the cage.
1:19 Wonderboy raised his knee to throw a kick when his back aginst the cage. Probably shouldn't try to side kick people that are charging you. Big mistake.
Man, it's hard to see Wonderboy get KO'd like that. Especially by an unlikable, arrogant, cocky jerk like Buckley. Wonderboy has a very successful martial arts business along with sponsorships and plenty of money. I would hate to have to see this again. I think it's time Wonderboy has that question with himself about hanging it up. My man has nothing left to prove.🥋👍🏽
Ill be honest, prime wodnerboy wouldve cooked buckley but hes dam near middle age now. He needs to hang up the gloves or take a break from mma to heal up at the very least. 1 yr plus
So right he gave the fight away. Thats a mega rookie mistake. Id have kept my elbows infront. For me Muai Thai has the bigger advantage. At 41 if say retire.
Saenchai is the only one I can think of who successfully performed on an elite level well into his 40s. But time comes for us all, including the rarest variants to the norm.
AGAIN... ANYONE WITH HANDS... IS MORE DEADLY! THE MAJORITY OF THE TIMES... THE BETTER BOXER WINS! THOSE WHO ARE MAD ABOUT THAT ... HAVEN'T BEEN IN THERE.
Go watch a wonderboy fight from a decade ago. Man's is old now but his counter punching was superb back then. He had more volume, muscle size. Time just caught up with him is all. Good on buckly for capitalizing but that isn't prime wonderboy
That was a serious jumping hook 🤕
Yeah, sadly Gabriel! 😢🥊
This was heartbreaking to see
I don't want to see him lose again.
Yeah very heartbreaking
😢😢
@@sloppyvm7110way above average, goes for it every time and dominant wins
Im glad I fell asleep before seeing the terrible ending :(
He gotta retire man. Before he gets used as a stepping stone
Bro don't make silly jokes on him he is our father's age respect him
Unfortunately he is being used as a stepping stone for a few years/fights now
He's been a stepping stone for a while.
Already been to Shavkat and this
@@sinenomine4540 he's been competitive against top contenders and his last loss was against shavkat, show some respect u weirdo

I won my first ever Muay Thai fight tonight. Thanks for all the info you've given 👊
Congrats!
@@huwhitecavebeast1972 Thanks bro 🙏

Good stuff that's awesome!

I wish he would have put more time into his grappling.
You fast as Hell Gabriel!! lmao
Right?
Noooo!!! 😭😭😭 Respect to Buckley of course. But who doesn't love Wonderboy? He's amazing and a true martial artist. ❤
He was doing SO good, too 😩😭

just remember how freak of a athlete buckley is... he has the ability to nail some hacks like no others

Great analysis as always! Man, Wonderboy is in such a good shape at 41 and he did well against Buckley, a guy that is 30 years old.
I think he was really caught off guard, obviously by the gazelle hook and the distance Buckley covered, but also by the odd timing at 1:19. His reaction looks to me like he was expecting a rear cross on the step before the shuffle.
Hate to see it
Need to make Wonderboy vs mvp now
Can you do a video on opponents who shell up and keep moving forward?? Thanks for all the tips btw it really helps!!🎉🎉
gut wrenching KO. Hope we still get to see wonderboy vs michael venom page though.
No I wouldn’t like to see an older and slower Wonderboy get KO’d and then MVP do a disrespectful celebration dance afterwards.
Why do you have to remind me so soon? Im still trying to mentally recover from that...
Man i really wonderboy his good man and honest but to seem him go out like that was heartbreaking frl
Wonderboy was not pumping out that side kick when his opponent was coming forward as he usually does.

What a sad fight Gabriel. This was just so heartbreaking to see. He did so well up until that point! 😭🥊
Pain
Dam man, the spoilers
That looked like the Pettis ko on wonderboy except the fence was on the other side.
Nooo my boy ! 😢
Sad my boy got knocked out 😢😢😢😢😢
Buckley is so underrated it’s crazy.
Omg I feel so bad for him 😢
Everybody wants to come across like their fight experts I’m 110% sure Wonderboy has his own team of people guiding him in the gym and during the fight
Duh
you are not so tough, how does it feel, tough guy 😂😂😂😂
Time catches up to everyone.
It’s that stupid tiny cage. If I were a striker I’d never want to fight in that little cage.
Full contact combat sport beyond 40 just doesn't work. Buakaw tries to keep fighting, doesn't work either.
walter white falling in slo mo
Bro this was five minutes ago hahaha
Sadly ik this would happen with wonderboy slow hands, I didn’t think it’d be Buckley but I knew that low hands style would get him caught eventually
It already happened with pettis, he was beating the shit out of pettis but because of those hands down got caught by a perfecto shot in the jaw
Damn
agreed. his gotta stand his ground and work his boxing game in the pocket. a solid boxer will always beat karate. credit to wonderboy love him
Sad so 😢😢
I'd like to see Stephen retire. He seems like a great guy. I'd hate for him to suffer with long term damage, when he has so much to offer outside of the cage.
I coudnt even watch it💔
Wonderboy needs to retire ufc is the last sport you want to display longetivity, health is way more important
Wonderboy should retire now.... he's taking too much damage.
I really hope WB retires and focuses on teaching and coaching. He’s already done so much!
1:19 Wonderboy raised his knee to throw a kick when his back aginst the cage. Probably shouldn't try to side kick people that are charging you. Big mistake.
He has done before many times successfully. He just gets older.

If he takes a break he’s done fighting with these young lions
Karate guard arms dangling by the side not good.
The one thing they don't teach in karate, unfortunately, is head movement. We're taught to just keep backing up/circle around when ppl attack.
So right he gave the fight away. Thats a mega rookie mistake. Id have kept my elbows infront. For me Muai Thai has the bigger advantage. At 41 if say retire.
Doesn't matter how well you look after yourself, really start slow when you hit 40s
Saenchai is the only one I can think of who successfully performed on an elite level well into his 40s. But time comes for us all, including the rarest variants to the norm.
weak ass attitude
Since you got so much to say about what he should’ve done I can’t wait to see you in the ufc next year
Haha relax my friend, gabriel varga is a very kind dude, he just throw some tips for us. He get along with WB aswell
:(

your tummy is sitting on your capslock key buddy, better clean teh cheeto dust off your keyboard
He will never be offered another title shot. Time to retire.
