    I thought Buckley would win, but I wasn’t expecting to see how far Wonderboy’s reflexes are from what they were. He was getting caught by leaping hooks and overhands. Tough to see.

  • @Fingolfin30
    @Fingolfin30 3 месяца назад +24

    He’s always had a terrible habit of exiting without defense. Rory McDonald hit him with a huge hook in round 5 of their fight, but Wonderboy’s chin could take it then.

      What Buckley lacks in technical skill he makes up for in athleticism. He has very good cardio too. Dude could probably compete in the Crossfit competition if he wanted to.

  • @The31st
    @The31st 3 месяца назад +4

    Wonderboy still has it he just didn't have the power to stop a charging Buckley. Wonderboy's speed, timing, reactions, accuracy, footwork it was all still there. Watching him tag Buckley as he charged with precise shots was lovely but Buckley was able to walk through them. Drop levels to faint a TD and squat jump his whole body into a hook from hell.
    You can't even say anything against WB's chin. Only been KO'd twice and last time was 5 years ago and this time well... that punch would have KO'd anybody.
    Still I don't like seeing him get hurt like that and as he's not getting a titleshot again he can either take fun fights with strikers in the top 15 or below or call it quits. It'll be a sad day when he chooses to retire but he's earned it.

    Damn that's a shame, love Wonderboy. But I felt like in his past few fights he wasn't aggressive enough, he moves great but you still gotta lay down the leather. I always thought he should have invested more into grappling.

    The statement at 1:57 says LOADS about how good your defense is Gabriel. The casual observer would not understand how impressive this is considering the level and caliber of fighters that you have competed with!👍🤙🖖

  • @Robert399
    @Robert399 3 месяца назад

    I think he was really caught off guard, obviously by the gazelle hook and the distance Buckley covered, but also by the odd timing at 1:19. His reaction looks to me like he was expecting a rear cross on the step before the shuffle.

    Wonderboy was not pumping out that side kick when his opponent was coming forward as he usually does.
    I ways thought wonderboy needs a judo coach. He always ends up against the cage in the same position, if started landing some big throws I think opponents would stop pressing him against the cage and smothering his striking.

    Man, it's hard to see Wonderboy get KO'd like that. Especially by an unlikable, arrogant, cocky jerk like Buckley. Wonderboy has a very successful martial arts business along with sponsorships and plenty of money. I would hate to have to see this again. I think it's time Wonderboy has that question with himself about hanging it up. My man has nothing left to prove.🥋👍🏽
