Kibbe system doesn't seem to take ethnicity into account. Any sharpness I have is covered by fleshy roundness because where I'm from we tend to have fuller/rounder features
How come no one is making a comparison of Soft Dramatic and Dramatic Classic? My test results usually gravitate to either of these two, and I am really puzzled that there is no comparison of these two types.
I haven't compared SD and DC tbh they are quite different...I wouldn't recommend the test but the question is whether your frame is mostly elongated/narrow/sharp or balanced with some elongation
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita I can't tell about the elongation. But I was alarmed about my confusion when a friend of mine had the same dilemma for herself as I did, when she did the test. We are both rather tall, have long limbs and some sharpness (Yang qualities), but we both are confused by the directions. And, we have similar dilemmas: according to the height directions (I am 175 cm / 5 feet 9 inches tall, she is even taller) we should be SD. I have flashy upper thighs and upper arms, I have some curves, but not in the bust area (most of my curves are in the glutes, which were flashy and protruding even when I was ultra skinny), but none of the draped styles recommended for SD do not seem right for me. The only SD style recommendation I can identify with is wearing high waisted trousers with wide legs (I look bad in skinny or tapered pants).
LOVE the video. It makes understanding the SD so much easier! definitely one of the best who explained the SD💕 and I love that you put examples on everything! 👏🏻 new subscriber!! 💘
Still unsure. I am 177cm tall, which is just a bit above the average in my country. I definitely have an hourglass figure, with 97cm, both hips and bust and 56cm waist. I have long limbs, quite thin ones and tapered shoulders. My feet are rather small for this height- 37eu, but they appear long as they’re narrow. I don’t put on weight easily and when I do, my waist appears even smaller in comparison to the rest of the figure. I don’t have angular face at all, it’s roundish oval with full cheeks. I have big almond eyes and full lips. My head is quite big so I don’t really appear as tall as I really am, though my much taller boyfriend might also be the case
I feel so much compassion for women who see themselves as short when they are 177 cm and idk what to say except fuck the patriarchy that teaches women that we should all be tiny and dainty, take up as little space as possible, and don't bother anyone with our physical presence
Also idk if you're asking if someone with your height and build can be SD. Long, delicate, narrow with strongly defined hourglass sounds textbook SD to me. There are "only" 10 image IDs and billions of women, you don't need to look like Sofia Loren to dress for your delicately elongated limbs and curves. If you wish to choose a shorter image ID with defined curves, because you want to dress as a less tall woman would, then you should definitely go for it!!! You don't "fit" SC or TR but Kibbe is NOT the law and just a set of guidelines. The most important thing is that your style expression makes your heart feel good and leads you slowly on a path toward self celebration
Thank you Rita for this video. So entertaining and informative. I requested to join Strictly Kibbe and FN group. No acceptance yet. I hope they accept me eventually. I am interested in learning.
Do you think it is possible to have two types? I am kind of unsure as I'm between FN and SD. I have a lot of matches with the FN description, as I am quite athletic looking (I did sports my whole life) and am 5'11-6'0 tall, broad shoulders, but my overall shape doesn't fit into FN. I have wide hips, a small waist.... What would you do in that situation? EDIT: I don't really see myself as delicate or anything, but my boyfriend sometimes says I look delicate. Dunno if that helps
I think a lot of women are where you are. Tall, somewhat curvy, wide shoulders... It's hard to give advice. Tbh i think probably though most such women are FN and FN is just a diverse type. There are quite a few people FN with a pear shape, look at Jennifer Lawrence for example Does your face have the sharp yang structure or the broad blunt yang structure? This can sometimes be helpful even though David says we shouldn't think about the face as you don't wear clothes on your face
I have a friend who I'm 98% sure is FN even though she has a more accentuated hourglass figure than I (SD) do. I know she is FN for a few reasons: for starters, she doesn't need curve accommodation and she looks much better with relaxed line, she looks kind of "healthier" to me in FN lines, you could check that; second, Her hourglass comes from her skeleton, not her flesh, it comes from her broad bone structure and her frame not from flesh and yin like mine does. If you have a SD/D friend I would suggest you to compare yourself to her, I saw this on reddit and I think it's helpful, SD's shoulders are more sloped, more boney if you will, more narrow, while FN's shoulder are more boxy and squarish like Naomi Campbell, it looks to me very powerful. Anyway, based on what you said you sound to me like FN but I'm no expert, but I hope I could help!
I haven't taken the Kibbe test accurately, only looking atthe descriptions. I am quite fat around te stomach, with violin hips and curves above my hips, along with what seems to be described as broad or perhaps sloped, and also a round face with double chin. I remember asking online what type of Kibbe body type does a pear shape all under, to which they said Soft Dramatic. And it seems to be the one that fits me as I am 5'7 and curvy. But tbh I don't know if the fashion choices for a Soft Dramatic are useful for me. The outfits seem more suitable for a 30 year old business woman. I'm currently 20 and want to wear more feminine and cool outfits for casual occasions like for university or meeting friends. The Soft Dramatic wardrobe is too mature for younger people I feel.
Soft dramatic is just vertical+curve (and a bit ~extra~ aesthetic) but I hear you. Lots of people feel as you do, maybe I should make a video about ~youthful SD~
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita Its hard to tell if I am Romantic or Soft Dramatic, I am curvy but not petite like a Romantic would be. And I can't tell if I am a balance of vertical lines in my silhouette. Yes please! A video for young Soft Dramatic's would be perfect for outfit inspiration. Pencil skirts and draped tops just ideal. Would love to see a video on it, nobody else has talked about it.
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita So sorry I didn't reply sooner. Thank you so much. I am wondering if I should get this long skirt I have seen at New Look. I have got a few pieces of new clothes, such as Summer trousers (one flared in a gingham print; one in houndstooth and another flared light yellow that I had to get altered so it now has white sides). I also feel that square necklines look amazing on me, as I do have small books, so on lookout for those. I also prefer tucking in my tops while wearing the Summer trousers, to show then off better and give myself more of a waist. There is this dress from H&M that I am planning on getting, curious on your thoughts of it 😁 www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0970161002.html
I'm still confused about my kibbe type if I'm a DC or SD. I'm 5'9 with a long vertical line but somehow my arms and legs are in proportioned to my height and I also don't look lean nor voluptous with some angularity, moderately defined waist and moderately shaped hips. My facial features are also balanced except on my eyes and lips that leans toward to yin.
I'm not so sure if I am a Soft Dramatic because I do have the body of a Soft Dramatic but my face is more classic with a rounded nose but medium lips and deep set medium eyes
Guys, I need help. I don’t know if I am a soft natural or soft dramatic. I definitely have long arms and legs, people always think I am taller than I actually am. I have softness and curves, short t-shirts and upper clothes (???) just doesn’t suits me. My face is really more soft natural. My nose is a little bit wide and small, my eyes are kinda big and round and my lips are just moderate. I think my bones are just fine. It’s not too thin and not wide. Just in between. What do you think? Can a soft natural have long limbs and look taller? Thanks for answer and I am sorry for my english!!!
Maybe you can pick the best of both worlds! That is, keep the vertical line and curve (drape) of SD and add some SN elements to it: maybe tousled hair or more lightweight fabrics/colours? (Depending on your colouring of course, don't wash yourself out) My point is both types are primary Yang with Yin undercurrent so you can play with the similarities in their lines and adapt then to your own body!
Once a woman reaches a certain height (about 5'5") her vertical line is non negotiable because she is literally vertical. Vertical is *always* dominant just due to physics, vertical is always yang, and thus taller women are *always* yang dominant. You cannot be TR and vertical because TR is not yang dominant and vertical is. Shorter women can still have a vertical line without being literally tall which is why shorter women can be yang dominant but taller women will never be yin dominant. I think this is a blessing because you know you must be D, SD or SN if you're over 5'5", it's so much simpler for us.
@@MW-mj7li didnt kibbe say that the yang dominance via hight starts at 5'7''? Between 5'5'' and 5'7'' its called moderate as long as you dont look tall. He typed ashley judd as a tr and she is 5'7''.
Thanks for the video! It's so cool that now we can observe over hundreds and thousands of opinions on Kibbe, which really helps to gather your own vision and feeling of a certain essence or body type... It was not really possible back to 80s, when metamorphosis came out... Blessed we * - * P.S. Who is this woman on 3.00 ? Thank you ^-^
I think i get the "essence" but personally its very hard for me to differenciate between SD and overweight or curvy D - Anyways ive been waiting for this video from you so thanks. Amazing, i really liked the pictures you used too.
Are SD’s the only type that is curvy with larger than average hands and feet? I’m 5’6” female but I wear American shoe size 10 or 11... I’m also fairly curvy but I can’t tell if my bones are narrow or wider like a soft natural D:
At 5'6" if you have a curb shape then SN could be an option too. I think SD and SN can be a bit hard to distinguish but SD would dress for their vertical+curve whereas SN dress for width+curve. So if both IDs appeal to you initially, you can experiment with different silhouettes and see what feels more right!
They are different in body flesh. Pure Dramatic does not become hourglass figure while gaining weight, whereas Soft Dramatic is way more yin as a whole. I also observed that Soft Dramatic men also seem to be looking more soft than pure Dramatics. Of course SD man would not have hourglass figure, but he has some flesh and roundness, he has less sharp facial features and still visible large elongated bone structure.
so here’s the deal, i am quite honestly lost...170 cm tall, long quite fleshy legs, arms thin and also long with tiny wrists and slender narrow hands, broad waist with little definition, shorter torso, hips wider than shoulders, which are squareish and always slender along with my arms (as if they were not corresponding with my lower half), average size ribcage, prominent collar bones, my face is oval, not very prominent cheekbones, eyes closer together, straight sharp larger nose and round full lips, cheeks a little fleshy but the jawline is quite sharp..my vertical line is long since my head seems to be smaller and hair’s fine silky and straight...when i gain weight it focuses mostly around my waist and upper thighs...i would really appreciate some help concerning my type, my guesses are Soft Dramatic, Soft Natural or Dramatic Classic but i definitely do not have the right amount of knowledge to be able to reasonably decide
Strictly from your description SD sounds likely. Long vertical line, long legs and long arms fits SD best because DC has only moderate elongation whereas SN has a short/moderate vertical line
Thanks for sharing. I'm a bit confused as I'm an hourglass 170cm tall but my arms and shoulders as quite narrow not musculene at all and my legs are a bit wider and stronger. Both legs and arms are long but you can still see I have smaller waist and curves around. I'm busty D-DD Cup nobody believes that I have such big breast if I don't saw it just because I have narrow back! 🤔

At 5'7" I think R, TR, SG, FG, and SC are unlikely, not impossible but that's what I understood from his guidelines... but also as I say in the height video it's like... The point of the system is to help you feel good so if identifying ad a gamine and dressing for juxtaposition helps you feel like you're celebrating yourself and expressing your personality to the world, the why not? I'm 170 cm 26 waist, 39 bust, but shoulder and hips are equal in size. Long feet, long fingers fleshy upper arms and butt thighs. Oval face strong cheekbones. Please help, would you say SD? I am also a light summer and read somewhere light summer's cant be SD.
We almost have the same measurement but I think it depends on the bone strecture for me I have a dramatic bone strecture (all answers under bone structure are A) then my face features are soft with almond shaped eyes and angular jaw, so I'm convinced that I'm soft dramatic at least for now 💕
Thank you for the nice videos! But where Kibbe sees SD in Rachel Weisz? Thats a mystery to me. I mean the face maybe, but her body does not look SD to me.
I would have to look into this more but my first glance intuition is Katrina SD abd Sonam FN 🙂 but that's literally just a first glance for fun. They are both beautiful and I will add them to my list of potential celeb videos 💕 ty for the suggestion
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita thank u! but after some reads the past hours now i think im dramatic classic😂😓 even tho it was only 2 days i thought i was SD i was very deep on that role lool. but i'm stimulated again that i discovered i'm another type!! this things are so enjoyable.
Can a SD ever lose that “voluptuous” look with enough weight loss or surgery? I think I’m SD but I hate how a lot of words to describe the body type are just euphemisms for fat.
I think for SD the curviness comes both from the underlying shape (wider rounder hips for example) and from the tendency to store fat on the body in a more "curvy" way. You can see that many of the celebrities in this video are very slim and not what would be considered fat by anyone The whole Kibbe system is very body-centered so if it's triggering to think of your body as being round/shapely or having fat, honestly I just would take a bit of a Kibbe pause and play with outfits or styles where the focus isn't on describing your body
Style Thoughts by Rita I’m probably wrong about my type unless there’s a possibility of a SD having super boyish hip bones. My huge boobs are throwing me off and it’s making it really hard to figure out what type I am. T_T it’s definitely one of the long limbed ones though.
You might try focusing on your bones instead because weight gain/loss can confuse you a lot. Once you figure out the category of your bones, try thinking about how Yin or Yang your facial features and flesh is. I had a lot of trouble typing myself because I am very thin and always thought of myself as boyish. I never thought I would be SD at all because of my preconceived notions about my body. But it clicked when I realized my bones are very dramatic but I am short waisted, soft flesh (despite being underweight) in some areas, and a strong Yin face with some drama there. Also think about clothes and how they fit... Boxy shapes don't look great on me and instinctually I was realizing sizing up my embellishments and jewelry was not 'too much'.
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita I thought SD have rather medium waists and the overall appearance is elongated. When I understood right the SD has its curves more from the fat and the bones are not that wide like for example the Soft Natural?

1-SD/FN and D overweight women.
2- FG /FN Men
3-TR/SG women
4-TR/ SC women
Are a little bit harder to differentiate than other types.
@@dr.hebagadallahclinicalpha9871 yeah i definitley agree
Are SD’s the only type that is curvy with larger than average hands and feet? I’m 5’6” female but I wear American shoe size 10 or 11... I’m also fairly curvy but I can’t tell if my bones are narrow or wider like a soft natural D:
At 5'6" if you have a curb shape then SN could be an option too. I think SD and SN can be a bit hard to distinguish but SD would dress for their vertical+curve whereas SN dress for width+curve. So if both IDs appeal to you initially, you can experiment with different silhouettes and see what feels more right!
Hi Rita!! I was trying to rewatch your FG video but I can't find it!
I'm going to update it because I learned a log from the SK FG!
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita can't wait!!
Thank u for the video, it’s great!!💗💗💗
And what is the difference between SD and chubbier D? Just according to the essence its difficult to tell...
Style Thoughts by Rita oh thanks very much! i think that might be it
Yeah they can pull off diva chik look but i thik the look incredably regal if you thake the away the exagerated diva chik look.
You dont need to have "masculine" arms or shoulders to be SD. SD is characterized by a narrow and sharp frame 🌼
thank you for this video it was very informative and interesting! just a piece of advice, if you could avoid saying "like" in every other sentence..
I’m a left up soft dramatic and I am beyond confused about what to wear
I can help you! What are the left+up keywords that most *resonate* with you, or which excite you the most?
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita I guess intimidating , persona, intriguing . The weird thing is I don’t think I’m mysterious but I think others are drawn to my energy and I’ve been told I’m intimidating and I don’t understand why. I’m super friendly and amicable. I do feel often like I have to “dress a part” in my life.
I am confused between SD and DC...
In SD the vertical and the curve are prominent. In DC there is balance with no prominent curve and some elongation. Hope that helps :)
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita Yeah, definitely helps a lot! Thank you. The confusion comes from my height- 172 , but a have a big head so I dont look that tall. Could a Gamine be 172 /5'7? Thank you again !!!
@@Krisvasileva-w7z idk I follow David Kibbe's theory where he does not talk about headsize and being tall gives you automatic yang.
I do agree with David's ideas that sometimes women feel uncomfortable with their height for social and family reasons so maybe want to feel more comfortable downplaying height - - in the end I believe self celebration is the goal but we must be kind and gentle with ourselves, including in style ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita how uplifting that sounds. The system is truly designed to help us celebrate our unique beauty 💐 Thank you for sharing your knowledge:)
Hi Rita can u help me. My height is 5'5 and I'm confused between SD and SC(typed in reddit). In my country 5'5 is very tall, and I do have long enough legs. But my hands and feet are small. And my face is oval. But I have hipdips so I'm very confused
I don't see why you couldn't be SD from that description!
Of course summers can be SD, there is a summer SD example on David's page
Hi
I am 174 cm tall , with Hips - 40 inches, Bust -34, shoulders - 40 and waist at 27". My face is a bit angular with thick lips. Am I SD or TR?
We almost have the same measurement but I think it depends on the bone strecture for me I have a dramatic bone strecture (all answers under bone structure are A) then my face features are soft with almond shaped eyes and angular jaw, so I'm convinced that I'm soft dramatic at least for now 💕
You're too tall to be a TR
Are you going to make another video on flamboyant gamines?, if so, I’m really exited for it!
Yes it's coming! :)
Most soft dramatic celebs are around 172 cm high..
I noticed that too, most are around 5’6 to 5’7 feet tall.
Thank you for the nice videos! But where Kibbe sees SD in Rachel Weisz? Thats a mystery to me. I mean the face maybe, but her body does not look SD to me.
Can a SD have broad shoulders?
Yes, but the curves are always more dominant than the width
@@rose-blossoms Thank you!
Dramatics and Soft Dramatics definitely have broad shoulders, but narrower than Naturals and not do dominant when we see their body flesh as a whole.
A Diva is a Godess
Is Katrina kaif a SD?
Then what type Sonam kapoor is?
I would have to look into this more but my first glance intuition is Katrina SD abd Sonam FN 🙂 but that's literally just a first glance for fun. They are both beautiful and I will add them to my list of potential celeb videos 💕 ty for the suggestion
Thanks for the reply Rita ❤
Take love from another natural type woman 😌
5,5 feet is 167,6cm
im 159cm that does not make me soft dramatic? since i think its my body type
Yes you can be SD at that height! There's a SD client example with this height in the Strictly Kibbe groups 🌞
You can see that many of the celebrities in this video are very slim and not what would be considered fat by anyone
The whole Kibbe system is very body-centered so if it's triggering to think of your body as being round/shapely or having fat, honestly I just would take a bit of a Kibbe pause and play with outfits or styles where the focus isn't on describing your body
@@fahimahhedar1503 same!! my bones do remind me of dramatic but my flesh i have on my body and my facial features is very yin
