Great video! I have just removed the end weight from my CBR500R (2018). I looked for help on RUclips after failing to undo the Philips head bolt holding the weight on. After using brute force, penetration oil, taps with a copper hammer and a blow torch to try and remove the bolt I looked deep in the shed and found my dad’s old impact driver. It worked a treat. I have now installed the Kaoko throttle stabilizer. 😁
Thanks...I am struggling with the process. Want to install some single mounting point barkbuster hand guards, but it is quite challenging. There’s all sorts of details about getting the new inserts positioned properly so the brake and clutch levers don’t hit the guards..but I’m stuck at stage one, getting the bar ends off. I was actually able to use my impact driver to crack the screw on one side. Now trying to get the insert out..but some say you have to peel back the hand grip to get at the tangs. Hmmmm..that doesn’t look easy. BTW, if you rotate your camera it will provide a widescreen view...kinda better for getting everything into the frame.
Hi Tony, Hope it helped. I didn't need to peel back the grips. I'd recommend the needle nose pliers or a couple of flat head screwdrivers to get at the tangs, then just lever them out. Once you have one loose enough, grip it with the pliers and twist. It took a little, but not too bad in the end. With the Bark Busters, I have the single mount too and I have a little difficulty with the stock levers. My left guard is right and doesn't hit anything, but i've had to angle the right one down a little. I'd recommend finding some shorter brake/clutch levers. That is what I'm going to do next.
Ausknight I’ll have at it tomorrow and try as you suggest, but I see there’s gonna be an issue with the levers hitting. BB should have included some bar end spacers. If I let the new insert stick out a little, to get the spacing right, it’s gonna look a little weird. That would be the spot to put a full size spacer. Oh well.
Hello, I have new 2019 model of cb500x..Bike is brand new with less then 200km on it, today I found out that bar ends on my bike are spinning inside the bar. No matter what I try I can't get them to not spin..Is this normal or do I have something broken inside bar already? Sry for my English, please help
valsorimcijas I took it to a shop too they can’t get them out. It’s ridiculous how hard it is. Yes it’s normal they spin . Mine is 2019 too and it doesn’t look like the ones on this video so unfortunately I can’t find a video that helps nor anyone that can get them out. Good luck I ll keep trying and post a video if I succeed

¿can you actually put it back together?, i removed mine, but know that clip thing is not holding everthing together and is easy to take off the bar end by hand. Kinda weird system honda mounted there
Danger! This guy gives wrong instructions! No need to release bolt. Just push on clips from two small holes on bar end and put weights out. YOU SHOULD NOT DISASSEMBLE THEM. Rubbon rings will go outside together with weights, if you pull it out slow enough.
Very well explained. I have Honda CB150F which have exactly same bar ends and i wasn't able to find an easy method of removing it. Thanks chap 😊

Any plans on more videos of the Moto E? Really keen to see some acceleration videos as there's nothing on the 10kw.

Great tip
