TECOPA / CALIFORNIA / FREE HOT SPRINGS / WE FOUND OUT WHY A DATE FARM IS NAMED CHINA RANCH

After leaving LAKE HAVASU, Arizona where we saw LONDON BRIDGE that was relocated from England, we made our way Tecopa, California. Tecopa is about an hour south of Death Valley. We went to check out the free hot springs. Then we when to the Delight's Hot Springs. It felt so good to get into the hot springs from the cold air. It was at this hot spring in 2023 that we met our friends Jan and John and from them we met Lorene and Dennis. From there we went to explore a date farm that is named China Ranch. We had to say "Wow" when we saw the Amargosa Canyon. It was fascinating to learn that Amargsa River resurface in this area and then it disappear in the sand and to never be seen again. From the beautiful hike and scenery along the same path the gold rush settlers and the Mormon took, we learned about the history of the area and why the date farm is named China Ranch. We had yummy brisket, ribs, baked beans and coleslaw at BBQ & Brewery restaurant right by the entrance to Delight's Hot Springs Resort.
