In Assam we get by 340 but that does not include head, legs or innards, its purely meat...unlike Nagaland where we get 700 grams meat and 300 grams head, legs and innards mix.

@@Yaehaw027..I mean dreaming independence is legit for nagas as i felt that nagas are not Indian by blood..if we looked at the history nagas migrated from China and Indian migrated from middle East and Central Asian a mixed of both.. anyways India is big and Nagaland is small but it does not matter whether it is big or small there are country smaller than Nagaland like for Maldives but i felt that Nagaland should be given a sovereign,republic state...before independence india was a slave of British so one of the Britishers asked Ghandhi what will India do if Britishers left can Indian sustained without british?? Ghandhi replied let it be our problem not yours....and after independence india did faced lots of hardship but it is just basic as well all knew as long as humans are there there will be a solution...and unlike those in 19 century in this 21 century the world has developed a lot ..every country is there to helped out Nagaland if nagas got independence...there are manny say Japan, china,great Britain,American, switzerland etc and so on...and coming to you're point for electronics and technology india is still dependent on china...so nagas are still dependent on outside Nagaland for pork but it should be soo much so that a bandh will not affect the delicacy of Nagaland... Nagaland should produce pork for atleast some months even after banned.. anyways we all knew how india will suffering if chinas stop exporting good to india...
And i felt that nagas are capable of running Nagaland by itself if given independence because if we looked now there are manny renounced person from Nagaland..so much so that in next year election in United State there will be a naga women representing from republic candidate..there are manny naga men and women who are outshining others in their respective field comparing to the small state called Nagaland...and funny thing is try to widen up you're brain and looked into the future at the world try to know how society of world work..grow up from your mentality of childish behaviour..

Most of the nagas in the rural areas rear pigs, not just one some rear more than that but their are many in urban areas where rearing of pigs is not possible and even those who are rearing keeps it mostly for the festive season

Blatant violation of the Govt. fixed rates by the Suppliers should be heavily penalized, let's see what action will be taken in this regard. Public and so called educated youths should not feel shy or act rich when inflation is soaring high and we are struggling hard to make ends meet. Time to say enough is enough.

Yes , you are right. Every households in rural areas of North East can rear one or two pig each. Feed them with locally available feeds like yam, waste vegetables, taro, banana plantains. Even if the take 1/2 year to grow it is very profitable.
Instead of countless unknown factions tax, giving security to non citizen of nagaland (non locals but some are citizens of nagaland reminder) promote local entrepreneurs.
Govt. Is also held responsible for not promoting our local entrepreneurs.

Just sometime ago the concern authority had increased the wholesale as well as retail rate.
Until and unless proper rates of wholesale in the other part of the states from where pigs are imported being ascertained the rate should not be haphazardly increased just to satisfy the demands of the wholesalers operating in Dimapur.
Thorough discussion should be done from the district administration, DMC, CSOs etc. keeping in mind the welfare of the general public.
How I wish the news reporters also exposed the scale fraud especially in the butcher shop in kohima...!! Please.... The common public would like to see what their reason is?
Why don't our Nagaland department of Animal husbandry look into this kind of situation and take steps to replace the supply from other states.
Why is it so hard to put a pork farm?
Animal business has very high risk involved (dead) and on top of that multiple faction taxation. For commercial farm it can only run by people who has excess money hence low pig farm.

Nagaland government can surely take initiative in pig farming and create employment. By doing which will encourage more private Pigerry and Nagaland to be the producer too and not only consumer.... Government can't do anything in this matter as long as there is tax. Many people pull back to animal farming because of taxation. Animal farm has huge risk involve and top of that taxation. Try running and you'll know.

I used to eat 2kg of pork in a week. 2 kg x 320=640x4(one month)=2,560. 2,560x2 months=5,120/- saved for only two months. I wonder how much money will I save for 12 months or more years🤣
If there are no buyers the price will be dropped. So instead of demanding Municipal council for price hike they should demand the suppliers for price cut/drop.
Make the suppliers feel hopeless that they have nowhere(market) to supply. Then it's a boom...we'll get pork cheaper than before.

Most of the funds or subsidized ones under different schemes for piggery farming have been not utilised for the very said purpose ...all bogus. Even fishery department under one survey it was estimated that the number of fisheries in Nagaland covered more than the geographical area of the state. Some genuine pig farms are coming up by local entrepreneurs. But does that meet the demand and supply chain ?
