One thing I've learned about nude lipsticks is that as I've aged, I have to stay away from brown-leaning nudes which I've worn most of my life. They just frankly make me look dead. I've switched to more pinky nudes which really brighten me up.
FYI: oils applied over sunscreen will break it down. This is why it is recommended to use an oil-based cleanser or balm to remove makeup and sunscreen. Apply a few drops of oil to your AM moisturizer and let it dry down before you apply sunscreen and then as you mentioned allow the sunscreen to form its protective layer before applying makeup. A hydrating moisturizer and a moisturizing sunscreen followed with a moisturizing foundation or BB Cream will be all you need. Save the oils for PM. Be careful removing makeup over brows because you will be removing your sunscreen as well. Instead I take care to keep foundation off my brows and to apply a matte powder like the UD All Nighter in a thin layer over brows before applying pencil or brow pen.
Great tips, especially regarding the "gills" under my eyes😅 and the sponge vs brush when you have flaking skin. Use tight lining sparingly as it can exacerbate dry eye symptoms. Much better to use eyeshadow pressed onto base of lashes, but not in your waterlines.
Thank you for the great tips! Just want to note that oil is an occlusive and does not hydrate the skin. Hydration comes from water. That’s not to say mixing oil and your foundation is bad. What the oil does is keep in the hydration that you have put on your face with water or a good moisturizer. ❤
This was one of my favorite videos that you have done. Thank you. And you are just so beautiful also (hope that doesn’t sound weird 😬). I love your tips. Thank you
I love your videos,Bobbie. You always make me smile. This one was about the eyeliner.I can’t make that look decent to save my soul so I do the eyeshadow liner as well. Lol
Some of these definitely don't work for me. For me a brighter lipstick is better than a nude. I think it depends on your coloring, but I don't really wear nudes that are too nude anymore because they make me look dead already. Also, I have very watery eyes (because of dry eye syndrome post- menopause) and I can't wear powder shadows anymore because of eye leakage ruining powder shadows. I can only wear certain cream shadows (I recommend Victoria Beckham shadow sticks for older women with watery eyes). While I love the look of tightlining, tightlining is not good for people with dry eye syndrome.
I am 60 years old and found an amazing product for under eye. It’s by Tarte. BB blur tinted treatment primer. I use nothing else. I purchase the “fair” color shade. Sometimes I add foundation over it but mostly not. Thanks for sharing your favorites! There are a few I will be testing soon! 😊
I have similar struggles with concealer as you, I try low end and high end, big failure, and finally finally I came across in Ulta by benefit concealer plus color corrector in one I love it love it❤❤ it’s name is bright on concealer😊😊😊😊😊😊
This is one of my favorite videos you've ever done!! I love that you mentioned HOW to layer concealer, etc. I always get mixed up the order of things between skin care, sunscreen, concealer, corrector, and foundation. For example, I use the Cicapair from Dr. Jart for covering redness, but I never know at what point to put it on. Or, does it act as a replacement for other layers. Plus I think putting too many layers on makes my skin look and feel older. Thanks so much! ❤❤
Such excellent tips. If a foundation is a thinner consistency, I use a brush; if it's a thicker consistency, I use a dampened sponge. Either way, I follow-up w/ the stansout. I appreciate you being here ! Hi Mrs. Betty 🥰 ! I hope that you're staying happy. We're getting more sunlight in Alaska and getting ready to start ice fishing soon so we can dry the fish in the spring sunlight. God bless you, beautiful lady!!
One thing I've learned is that if you have lines under your eyes, concealer is likely to crease. Though the Wet n Wild Incognito concealer almost never creases on me.
From one Bobbie to another….Great video. You are so easy to listen to and your tips and tricks will help many of us. Thanks for all you do for this community! Have a beautiful week.😊💄
Thank you for sharing these tips. I gave up wearing makeup because I just couldn't get it to work with my dry skin and very deep wrinkles. I'm going to try some of these tips and see if I can find something to work for me. I also have very sensitive skin and eyes and that makes it hard to find products I can use.
Question for you: do you have a rec for lip feathering? I have several lip liners … is there a lip product that would help before applying lipstick? Thanks!!
I've never found a product that claims to stop feathering - that actually did what it claimed. A lip liner does help. Make sure it's not too creamy. I have heard of powdering around your lips before you apply the liner. I have never done that, but, see if that helps. Also, if you use a lipstick over the liner, be sure to not go exactly where the liner went. Leave just a tiny bit without lipstick or gloss.
Great tips and I love your positive attitude…I have small eyes, too, (and maybe I need to try tight lining) but it’s so liberating when we accept and love the way God made us. 😊
Great video , great tips !!! I’d like to ask you which colour foundation you think best hides redness in neutral skin . And if you put eye primer before mac paintpot.
The Rose Hip Oil is still available. Jan 2024 The Ordinary discounted Chia Seed Oil, Sea-Buckthorn Oil, Borage Oil, some retinal and a vitamin C product.
Hi Bobbi..hope your doing well. What color are you using in the thicker concealer and is the thicker concealer you're using just for your undereyes or are you placing it on your whole face. Im trying to determine what color to buy esp for summer, and our skin tones look similar to me. Thank you 🥰
Eyebrow threading was a game changer for me. I’m sure you have probably shared, but what is your favorite mascara? My eyelashes won’t curl, even with and eyelash curler.. And how do you feel about Peter Thomas Roth products? I do like the gel serum and anti-aging cleanser.
Have you tried a heated curler? Have you tried heating it yourself with a blow dryer? You have to be careful not to burn yourself though. I have not tried much of Peter Thomas Roth, except for one of his primers which I really liked. I do have one of his things in my “to try” pile.
I am not a big fan of the eyebrow color you've been doing recently. Either it is the Sigma or the Ulta. Not sure why, but it looks so harsh. It could just be the lighting.

It’s good you figured it out. There are so many who just keep doing what they have always done.
@@MindfulMidlife Well, sadly, I was a little guilty myself!
Me too! I noticed that in my early 50’s.

ITK has a similar under eye stick for much cheaper... And it's at Walmart! 😊😊
The eyebrow thing, you are so right

You aren’t wrong. I should have said that it looks more hydrated because of the oil and whatever hydration you have stays longer.
I will try the soft brush on my forehead lines. This was a great video and you are the cutest!

Wow! So many great tips! Saving this for reference until they become habit. 🌻🍄
I do hope they are helpful to you! Thank you!
I want to get the ordinary skin care . I just find it confusing as to what I should buy.
In my opinion, it’s a waste of money. Most products focus on one ingredient, so you have to buy too many. Other brands have multiple star ingredients.

I almost panicked when you said you don’t wear eyeliner!! 😂 I thought you’ve always used eyeliner to tight line. What do you use to tight line?
I thought the rose hip seed oil from the ordinary was being discontinued

Oh my heart, the Mac Paint pod in Painterly is so very drying on my eyelids. No matter how I apply it, it looks terrible
It can be dry but I am ok if I use very little. I absolutely prefer the Perricone MD.
