This is late 50s metallica sounding like early 20s metallica. I love every second of it. They aren't as angry as they were 40 years ago but they still have the energy!
Positive vibes kinda jam from Metallica. Very reminiscent of early Metallica, Motorhead influenced sound, so if it sounds like what a high school band would do, then I'd say mission accomplished. The forth-coming album is titled "72 Seasons" which is 18 years.....soooooo. Nice reaction guys.
Youre just discovering Metallica early but lack a whole historical context of the band’s evolution. This is full circle.. this banger is just a tip of the iceberg of 72 seasons and no way represent how the other songs on the album would be like. Its a nod to their early influences with their modern sound. This song is widely appreciated by long time fans.
I liked it for what they were trying to do, which was write a song they would have written when they were 15, but it had the production quality of modern-day studios. They wrote this more as a "trailer" for their new album than a song they're trying to get on your workout playlist. (
It's kinda to me . How should I say , a polished grown-up version of something off kill em all. The 1st record. Not in a bad way. Maybe they wanted to revisit their roots. It's cool regardless. Sometimes, a nod to the past is a good thing.
I think the issue is when people start comparing songs. Either you like a song, for what it is or you dont. It's dumb to compare newer songs to older ones
I think what most people miss, even myself, is this album release will be the 40th anniversary of their first album, Kill 'em All. Much of this song is lifted directly from that album. The break after the solo is exactly off of Hit the Lights. Other parts like the lyric "Full speed or nothing" is also on that album. Plus, as most do recognize, it's old school thrash with a modern update. As an old school Metallica fan, I love it. I also don't like St. Anger, probably the only Metallica I don't like and I bought it lol. I think that was just a hard time for them in their personal life and they let it out in the music, not really giving a shit.
Please please please react to dyers eve not live the studio version with lyrics cause I think it is one of their most deep songs from the James Hetfield perspective in the lyrics and I think it's the fastest and heaviest song in Metallica discography
St anger studio version sucks but i like the studio version also 🥲😅 but if you want to listen st anger check out thier live performances ❤🤘🏽 and that flying va***a guitar was james one of the 1st guitar he brought 🤘🏽🔥
