A fever of 107 is no joke, extremely dangerous. Take care of yourself Rusty.
107?! Holy crap, Rusty! That IS super serious.
Might wanna see a doc. I thought that was only for bacterial infections and stuff... I'm glad you're doing better.
It was scary! Ive never seen him like that. The flu is everywhere around us right now.
This whole situation is nuts. 107?! Blimey, hope you feel better soon.
The meta data isnt 100% proof of anything you can manipulate the dates and times on printers the scammers didnt think the people getting scammed would dig that deep imo
But.. if they are dated 2024, then you know...
@@TCA_Gamingtrue but now with this publicly known any new printed copies can have the dates manipulated to show the 90s dates
@@LeanandG13 Anything not already holdered is done for.
@TCA_Gaming thats what im thinking tens of thousands of dollars vaprorized
@@LeanandG13 No one is going to buy them anymore prob
"Send the cards to us and we'll make it right. How? Not gonna tell you."
Not a great statement imo
I wish there was more meat to it as well, but I have sent my cards in and now I will wait to see what happens next
This is one of those situations where we could do with a grading company that checks grading companies. I believe they have something like that in the coin market.
@@monkey39128all grading companies are inherently an extremely shady business that almost entirely relies on conflict of interest as the lynchpin of their business model. The relationship between auction houses and big sellers and grading companies is nefarious and routinely the law is being blatantly broken. With the amount of money pouring into the Pokémon market scams like this are going to be the new normal and happen regularly. Wouldn’t be shocked if we see 10 scams of this magnitude over the next 5 years.
👉 I TRULY BELIEVE that MATT QUINN needs to step down once this is all resolved. If CGC is going to continue to be part of our hobby, new management is clearly necessary moving forward. Nobody should grade with CGC unless massive changes at the top are made. I truly believe this company has mismanaged almost every step since entering this incredible hobby.
All the grading companies had scandals, relax
I'm sure you don't care about Beckett's insurance fraud or PSA grading fake autos.
Stop being dramatic, things happen and the true measure of a person or entity is how the resolution is implemented.
CGC is great for grading things others wont like crimps, miscuts and other errors
@@codyholland2602 “Things Happen” 😂 tell that to the hundreds of people who dropped thousands on these “Authentic Slabs”.
@@OchrehornsI personally don’t care about the insurance fraud. That has nothing to do with card grading and authentication. I’ve not heard of the fake autos from PSA, but surely it was nothing near this magnitude.
CGC really should have had the statement using words like cash value, market value, reimbursement, warranty/guarantee. As far as I could see they didn't talk about future payment to reimburse people. A big miss on the statement.
@@KetchumAllCollectibles they aren’t going to even consider putting wording like that in writing just due to the legal liability right now.
Most commercial printers don't leave metadata/can have it turned off. I would imagine the printing presses/printers used for the cards and packs are of the commercial variety which won't print the dots.
Dang..
All printers have tracking metadata. The dots are a very old method. Modern printers metadata is not viable to our eyes. They hide it in dithering, noise, and grey levels. The FBI has the tools to track it.
@@TCA_Gaminghe speaks the truth. All of my offset print uncut sheets don’t have metadata
@@sxanityoffset printers don’t leave metadata, my dad used to work on a major printing press line and I looked at some of his old stuff. No dots.
@@Livinglife3666 I should specify inkjet and laser printers. I also work in a print shop
Glad you’re ok. 107 can be life threatening.
Agree gem mint is trying to redirect the blame by saying he’s a victim as well. He pushed the sale of these cards like a pump and dump.
This man’s immune system is a Pokémon
The meta data everyone’s talking about is an anticounterfitting feature used primarily by the secret service in the US. That’s why it’s typically only found on color prints. Real money is made using an actual printing press and engraving plates. Naturally the info around such law enforcement tools and methods can be a bit tight lipped so I’m not sure if other governments use this same method but I’d imagine most do. Point being you really need to consider where the item was made as well as how it was made because the meta data method is used for a very specific type of printing and counterfeit detection in the US.
if it did not come out of a pack that the public can open i dont want to collect it. Very sus cards ill stick to base set - skyridge collecting
You should really go the hospital and get checked Rusty. 107 fever is not normal and something other than the flu could be going on.
Thank you for making this dude.
Yea the thing is that CGC and all grading companies should have been using print metadata as well as other factors like where and who these came from as well as analyzing to see if the cardstock is the right weight/thickness before grading these. They are supposedly experts. Who cares if this only effects 0.03% or 0.00000000000001% of graded cards. Maybe it's obvious that either case of it happening 0.03% or many many times less than that, the possible inauthentic cards happen to be valuable but the thing is this shouldn't happen ever. The whole point for grading is to have a body authenticate a product but this just reaks of someone getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Sure, maybe it bit speculate on my part, but there's just too much incentives for CGC to grade these cards and pass them off as legit.
I personally own one and their crazy if they think im going to turn it in and have have them crack mine open and then turn around and say "well its fake, here you go without a slab" thus making mine worthless.
it's already worthless now unless they regrade it. Also if it is color, it's for sure GG for that slab already. The new ones will probably have new serial numbers and all the old one serials will be written off as potential fakes
Selling of all my grades. CGC should have stuck to comic books.
Do you think that printer meta data will be used to add additional value to modern cards?
As an example, couldn't it be used to establish the first print runs and subsequent reprint runs of modern sets?
At its limit, it could be akin to a first edition stamp, couldn't it?
Unless I am mistaken -CGC statement did not include what actions they will take if any towards reimbursing people. Only service offered is to re-review the authenticity of the cards in question for their ongoing investigation.
I personally would never/have never trusted any of those wrapper rolls or playtest/beta etc cards. If they were playtest cards they would have been played (most likely without sleeves), no way they would be getting graded 10s. Anyway the rate at which they entered the market 25 years later is ridiculous. If there was a single one that went on the market it would be subject to scrutiny, but the entire set times 10? nah.
I got a 106 fever as a child and was hospitalized for a while, hearing you hit 107 yesterday is terrifying
You jynxed yourself the other stream talking about never getting sick 🤧 hope you bounce back quickly bud! Take care
Rusty, take care of yourself. Regarding Zack - he dumped all of this collection on the auction market like 3 months ago very well knowing there were a lot of questions about authenticity, but he was pitching them hard. Not sure about how clean he really is in this whole fraud scheme. Very disappointing as I actually respected the guy before all this broke.
Gem Mint - aka- Zach was 100% implicit watch rattles video. Zach kept saying over and over again oh, don’t worry CGC will stand behind it. Who even says that? Why would he have to sell their guarantee
and then he drops a word salad from ChatGPT trying to push blame elsewhere. Shameless tbh
Also, you can watch any of Gem Mint’s videos where he opens Magic the Gathering or non Pokémon, it’s beyond obvious the dude is slimy as hell and the only thing he cares about whatsoever is money. His vibe and how he presents himself makes used car salesmen come across as the pope. Just a weird dude who 100% would scam anyone for money if he thought he wouldn’t get caught which is exactly what has happened here.
He was also part of the omega slabs fiasco
Everything appearing all at once or around the same time is super sus
Might want to check that thermometer. I've never seen a fever higher than 106
He might of been checking his temperature with a BIG lighter
I ran it several times over the course of an hour. Back to normal now as well.
@@TCA_Gaming Hyperpyrexia, or fever of 106°F or higher, is a medical emergency. If the fever is not lowered, organ damage and death can result.
@@tonyjohn6269 I always knew Rusty was superhuman..💪😂
@@TCA_Gaming I believe you read the numbers right, but I also believe that you need a new thermometer haha. Some just aren't calibrated correctly.
I’m so tempted to bid for the roll. It would be perfect for my collection. I suggest using a black light and an iPhone close up. You might need a flashlight to make the dots pop even more.
I believe this was a big oversight for this particular niche of card; however, for standard modern and vintage cards their grading practices and procedures are reliable and they still remain as part of the big 3.
Not reliable imo. Makes you wonder how many proxies they authenticated over the years. Wonder why 2 of the top 3 also have absolutely hideous slabs when companies like Ace or PCG or Beckett actually try to get you something nice looking.
Yoo Rusty, take care of yourself my guy. You should really be hydrating and resting. That 107 is very dangerous, but happy to hear you're okay!
How profound yet simple is the phrase “out of nowhere”!
Thumbnail Rusty was not impressed
❤ You Rusty! Get well! Your the man!
Everyone should be selling off all their CGC cards at this point. They’ve shown time and time again that they’re willing to grade forgeries
🤡🤡🤡
But I like the shiny label. 😭
Don’t agree. I think CGC is still fine. Akabane is mostly to blame here. PSA grades fake autos all the time, still, and gets a pass
@ a signature is much harder to verify. (I also agree that they shouldn’t verify if they were not there to see the signature take place.)
But cgc has graded lots of forgeries, ie the wizards and magic yugioh prototypes. They’re too willing to grade things without doing proper research. Also the value added just isn’t there, I’d rather have a PSA 10 over cgc 10
@@billmcjargenfoot9959 Do we actually know Akabane is to blame? Didn't he only verify the first few which for all we know could be real? I'd like to know if the other guy really was his grandson.
Either way CGC are still mostly to blame. Without their stamp of approval no one would've fallen for this.
Just stay away from this niche non varified stuff imho. There are loads of beautiful collectable cards rather than get into this mess with your collecting.
Wow I have a lot to say on this video lol. I had went back and added your old videos regarding that roll to my watch later to give them a re watch
Please get better rusty. You are a massive part of this community.
Booster wrappers are offset printed, no meta data. This only works for xerox playtest cards.
I feel like your thermometer has to be broken or something. Your organs start to shut down with a fever above like 106 or something.
So do we just go into the printer settings and roll back the date to 1996 now and trick everyone?
The damage is done for cgc they need to know with cards are fake
be careful with that 107 fever. i had a 105 fever two weeks ago. the reason my fever was so high was because I had unfortunately gotten the flu and covid at the exact same time.
Hey Rusty - do you plan on doing anything with CGC and the magic and wizards blue eyes white dragon that you purchased? Those cards are seemingly questionable as well
I still have it on hand but am waiting on the smoking gun. I know Ghezzi has put out a ton of info on them.
A fever of 107 how are you not dead man. Glad you are okay
CGC should totally reimburse the sender for even sending it back in addition to paying the shipping fee. I'm sure CGC has enough money to do that, its not like there are hundreds of people that sent these "prototype cards"
Here's a thing that I found out recently: Apparently they're part owned by Jay Z.
@@monkey39128 thats the last person I would think has interest in comics and trading cards
sad part is CGC won't even fully give the buyers exact money they spent to buy them already graded but whatever they feel which is lame af. That's making CGC's image worse than it already now
Has CGC responded to you regarding the prototype:playtest cards you sent back?
Rusty you're the goat
People demand a 10 to make boat loads of money, and this hobby is all about the money now. Let's see if people still collect for the art or their kids once the price is to high for cardboard.
41,67 °C? Yikes man, get yourself some rest. Your health is way more important than CGC's response xc
At the outset, CGC definitely looks bad here. However, it's very possible we don't have the big picture. What if they retained WOTC staff or others who were there in the 90s to authenticate these cards? Clearly most CGC employees aren't qualified to authenticate them, so they likely relied on an external party's opinions. Perhaps that third party lead them down the wrong path and assured them the cards were legitimate. Now egg is on CGC's face for it because they obviously are responsible as well. Regardless, the scumbag who fakes the cards is the real villain.
CGC is more a marketing company than actual authentication company anymore
I knew there was something fishy the SECOND they came out on the market. Fellas, trust your instinct.
I have a bad feeling about this. Hopefully they can make things right..
A graded card just means some random person looked at it and decide if they think it looks nice and put it in a plastic thing. The average worker at any job is pretty bad at their job and just want to go home
That’s not correct
They're supposed to be an authentication service as well as a condition grader.
So everyone didn’t think this was sketchy at first but 2 years of people on Whatnot opening VINTAGE Booster Boxes 2-3x a week is normal?? If they can reprint cards like this there are NO LIMITS.
Ive never heard of 107 degree, thats hospital time bro. Be careful
I got some zeta play tests if you're interested 😂
Not doubting that you’re sick, but 107 degree temp with no medical intervention would certainly cause irreversible brain damage. It could also kill you.
I’m %99 sure you meant to say 100.7. Either way I’m glad you’re doing better
It was 107.3, and super scary. After a shower it went down, but seeing numbers over 105 (multiple times) was pretty terrifying.
🤔 interesting now there popping up feel better tca
Any cards with a 9 or 10 are sus. These play test cards have no business being in pristine condition after 25 years.
107 you're at risk for a seizure. You need to get to a medical center asap
Always disliked CGC for their slab appearance anyways, this just adds insult to injury 😂😂😂
RIP to anyone that has cgc graded cards. I won't be buying them.
107 warrents a trip to the doctor.
Craziest thing in this video is you saying you’ve never had the flu before. How is that possible?!
play stupid games, win stupid prizes. These people should play the game instead of assaulting people at their local costco for a 27% profit margin.
Yeah once you get above 103 it is really bad. Hopefully your thermometer was reading a bit high. 107 that's almost as cooked as I eat my steak. Get well soon
IMO, everything truly unique in pokemon has been discovered. Outside of the actual IP having items in a vault that NOBODY will ever know about (Massive speculation and hypothetical, likely doesnt exist) everything has been discovered. Theres not some alpha/beta/test cards just sitting in some randos closet or storage unit. This is all fake cash grabs and the fact people who have been in the industry for decades fell for it is WILD.... GOOFY!
Lol CGC grades cut cards from sheets that were cut in the last 4 years...
I dont doubt that a number of authentic copies exist but the whole lure around them is now so tainted and suspect that I personally wouldn't go near them, regardless of their cost in future.
Imo CGC's reputation is irreversibly damaged. I'm not saying that they will definitely go bust (they might) but any trust in them is completely shattered, especially with vintage and/or obscure items. It was always a matter of time before their willingness to grade anything blindly/based on peoples word would majorly come back to bite them.
Theyve just uploaded a new post on Instagram about how grading with them "builds trust, gives peace of mind, increases value".... I mean, how tone deaf can you be with all this going on?
There’s no TM next to logo on everything besides the ones you own. Nintendo won’t put a wrong logo even for a prototype.
Nintendo didn’t own Pokémon in the 90s
Time for carbon dating it seems, lol.
There are a few alphas that may be real
And very few alphas are real
Anything graded 10 isnt going to be a 96 play test card
cards are for playing, dont invest in cardboard
No brah u got staph or something go to the er please anything over 103 can be deadly
107? That’s risking brain death brother
I will not send them in unless cgc put it in writing that they will reimburse you for what you pay as long as you have proof
CGC is a joke for Yu-Gi-Oh too by the way
They want all of them back for a reason, to remove their mistake from the open market. You can do whatever you want with the card, they have zero authority over you unless you want a refund, which they haven't made any mention of in their request(sorry, REQUIREMENT lol). Hopefully not everyone needs the money so bad they bend over for a refund and a decent amount remains in the wild. Fake or not, their grading makes the card valuable in the sense it's worth more than zero, people will buy these just to say they have one.
True words
Bro you can start getting brain damage at 105
Doesn't even have to be 105, minimal denaturation occurs around 103. We put my father in a cold bath due to his sickness. No way should brother thug it out, I'm worried about his safety.
Ridiculous statement they released
10:58 it may not work on this type of print
Hope you enjoy your 92 dollar grading credit they send back
yall really gonna buy that gem mint story lol sheeple
Don't do that again. Your proteins denature at 104. Take.care of yourself. You should have gone to ER to.get the temp reduced fast.
