Why Pokémon TCG (GBC) Is STILL AMAZING

- The Pokémon Trading Card game is and always was extremely popular. I never knew how to play it until this game which I only played for the first time a few years ago. Pokémon Trading Card game on Game Boy Color is still amazing though. I'm extremely impressed with it. There are tons of cards, an intuitive design, good pictures that look just like the cards, and exciting gameplay.

This video has absolutely exploded. Thank you all. Can't wait to make more.
Keep doing what you are doing bro!
Also had to come sub with my gaming channel 👌👌
the music in this game still hits HARD. Always loved this game.
Some of the best Game Boy music ever
iirc, it aligns its tracks in a way which makes it possible to have more "instruments" than the GB's sound chip would otherwise support
The pixel art in this game will never cease to amaze me
I spent some time comparing it to the original cards and looking for the decisions they made in the "translation", it was pretty interesting
Can never forget the first time I encountered Imakuni and that theme song
It has a bit of a "Baby Elephant Walk" vibe.
Amazing game that definitely still holds up. Played it on the virtual console last year, and the only big bummer is that you can beat it in a day or two. I really wish we could get more TCG games that aren't live service...
I go back and play Yu-Gi-Oh Spirit Caller every now and then, it's a great single player tcg. Takes a good 20-30 hours to beat and theres a lot of extra stuff to do
Exactly, I love TCGs but don't wanna spend a fortune to play against sweaty dudes glued to reddit to figure out the new meta every couple of weeks.
@ Yeah, I've been playing single player YGO some. There's also a game on Steam called Isle of Swaps that's on sale, I'm thinking about getting it.
@ TCG Pocket has a lot of problems, and that's definitely one of them. People don't even make their own versions of meta decks, they copy paste these insanely tuned decks from the internet, and it saps the fun out of it, tbh.
To be fair, I've been just have fun with whatever deck. Right now, running a few versions of darkness, fire, and normal and rotate through whenever I get bored. I'm just okay losing to the meta. I know those decks are stronger or more consistent. But, I still have fun since I'll eventually win against a mewex deck or snivy/celibi deck, very satisfying.
Yes I lose a lot, but it's fine, I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to win or find new combos (like I found the greninja/druddigan/weezing on own before it became a meta and I felt pretty good about that)
you can find a english subbed Pokemon TCG 2... it was never released in english and can only be accessed in english through fanmade translated roms.
He said that in the video though
And its fire. Even better than the first
Just played it recently. Loved it @@tongpoo8985
I literally just bought one on cartridge, can't wait to play it
@@tongpoo8985 yeah, it is the first, only better and more of it
Perfect timing, needed a video to turn on to pass the time at work! Loved binging the other Pokemon videos of yours and can’t wait for this one.
You rule. Thank you for watching my stuff. I'm trying to expand that binge basket every day ;)
Despite being a huge Pokemon fan since it came out, I never played the GBC game. My first time playing this game was about 2 months before the mobile game came out.
I had a few Pokemon cards when I was young and never learned how the card game worked either.
By the time I finished the GBC card game, I couldn't believe they didn't continue it as a series. It held up surprisingly well for a game more than two decades old.
Dude you nailed it. Pretty much the whole time I played this I was like "man I wish there were as many of these as there were yu gi oh games".
thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate you.
A sequel was released for Japan only. Featuring the rocket set cards. It didn't make it here because the GBA came out and they thought translating and releasing a GBC game whilst the new GBA was the in thing wasn't worth the hassle 😢
@@Livvvid It really drives me crazy.
Especially how Pokemon TCG Online was this secret thing they never talked about. Then they replaced it with Live, which has NO revenue stream! Why do they hate this product line so much??
@@everythingisterrible8862Then TPCI took it away from Direwolf Digital, to make their own, after hamstringing Direwolf for years. Somehow to only make a worse version.
i got this for my birthday in the 90s and it took me a while as a kid to understand it. I remember being extremely overjoyed when i finally beat it and could slide in the legendaries. they were really strong cards. it made a lot of tcg cards accessible for kids who never got their hands on the foil rares.
Just acquired one of those handheld emulators a few weeks ago...the very first game I ran to was the Poke TCG...so many amazing memories, and was reinvigorated with the TCG itself...truly considering getting back into physically collecting and maybe battling as a 30-something, but I still have reservations...if this Gameboy game turns out to be the only real way of me getting back into it, I'll be so okay with that. Prob will just continue to come back to this game for years to come! Thanks for highlighting this game! 🥂
I've only heard about this game in passing and never looked into it after that but after watching this I really wanna check it out!
Great video as always, man! Thanks for the information!
Man, I played this game when I was 13 or 14 on my cousins Gameboy in Germany, I beat it, I was there on vacation for the entire summer. That was a little overs 20 years ago, the game does not look how I remember it looking.
It always makes me happy to see people giving this underrated gem some love.
Also, I forgot how f*cking annoying it is whenever the enemy uses Mr. Mime against you. That Invisible Wall is the ultimate stall in the mid-game, when youre usually not bothering with anyone that hits weak enough to hurt it!
Dude, the anger I got from Mr. Mime was "controller throwing" energy I haven't had since MW2 in 2009 lol.
Thank you for appreciating this like I did, watching the vid, and commenting. I really appreciate you.
I will always sing this games praises. Pocket TCG WISHES it could be as rewarding and fulfilling and even just plain fun this game and even its sequel are. And the music will always live in my head.
Man, the nostalgia! The soundtrack, graphics, everything. On my list of games to play this year! Incredible video 👏 Also thanks for the awesome conversations last night on my stream - really enjoyed them and had valuable insights
I bought a copy of this game at a game expo and after 20 plus years, I finally learned how to play Pokémon TCG and fell in love with it.
(17:58) Actually, this is in the regular Game Boy library, so having any NSO subscription will let you access it, as it doesn't require the Expansion Pass.
Ahhh my bad.
Honestly I literally just got switch online and the pass for the first time and didn't know they were different.
Ive been emulating on my laptop and steam deck for several years so I've been out of the switch loop
Thank you for clarifying.
Does trading work?
@
Yeah, trading and Card Pop are functional on the NSO version.
Of any game I’ve ever played THIS is the one I wish the most would be remade today. You can do it with the old cards, hell you can even do it with the new cards, just as long as I can fight trainers, get new cards and build my deck how I want when I want without having to worry about limited cards or unobtainable old events.i want to just get all the cards. Build whatever deck or play whatever self set challenge and have full access to the whole games list of cards whenever I play it.
I'm with you. I'm hoping they'll do that someday.
Give tcg live a try. Talking about microtransactions. I went to my local card game shop and bought 100 code cards for 5€. I was able to build 2 decks and got plenty of ingame currency left. Ik the app sucks, but it's still the most accurate application that is based on the physical game.
Tgere is. Its called tcg live and is infinite better. Free to play, all cards since bw2
Meta, casual online only hardcore mode
Rankings
Full arts
@@幽霊船-o4hTCG live is terrible. If you want an actually good experience TCGone is the best option since you get all the cards in quick play mode and you can play old formats.
I’ve collected shiny cool looking cards for years, but Pokémon pocket taught me how to play the game. At least the game mode in Pocket. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the hobby. It’s part Chess, part Chance, part Art. Definitely buying this to experience how the original cards play! Thank you for the great content 🤘
Damn how have they not used the aesthetic of the actual Pokemon video games in the card game again!??
It fits and looks SO good!!
This was one of the defining games of my childhood. Played this thing everywhere I went. As I got older, I always wanted it back - 15 years ago I even found a Fan Translation of PTCG2 (only released in JP) and I STILL have that rom to this day. Up until Pocket TCG, I was playing it every year!
My coworker the other day showed me his recently downloaded Pocket TCG. I began to tell him about the OG pocket TCG and remembered I had it loaded on my Miyoo Mini which I had with me. Since, I fired up the game and now finding myself replaying it. OG mobile/portable gaming is where it's at...no micro transactions, no artificial grinds, no ads, no being "timed out" on a feature...just gameplay.
Memories of picking up the game on launch day at Kmart after bugging my parents to take me there. It taught me how to play the actual TCG but in the end, spent more time playing the gameboy game than the physical cards...as to keep them from getting messed up.
Just started watching your channel and realized you've only started uploading recently. Your stuff is really good and I look forward to the future success of this channel. I've really enjoyed every video so far.
Thank you xylus. That truly means a lot to me. Im really excited to bring you more. Working on the next video as we speak.
Thanks for the shout out!!
Personally love these spinoffs.
Still have my old collection and at age 34 I still enjoy playing the old retro decks with my brother - haymaker, wigglytuff, rain dance, stall decks.
The 90s Pokemon era is untouchable.
I personally think Bill is the best Trainer card. There's really no drawback! Professor Oak can be super situational. If you have a full hand but it's just not what you need right now, you have to throw it all away and potentially lose out on it later. Plus, repeatedly drawing 7 cards can cause you to deck out if the battle goes on too long. Bill's "draw 2" comes with no downside and is relatively negligible towards decking out. Pokedex + Bill is LETHAL.
Anyway, I personally use the Haymaker. Very few of the NPCs in the game have a counter strategy for it, so losing basically comes down to just getting exceptionally bad luck. The Grand Masters can still be a challenge because the legendary cards all resist Hitmonchan but that's about it. Those Pokemon with mid-tier HP that have attacks that do 20-50 damage for just 1 or 2 energy are so much more appealing to me than "strong" Pokemon that can't unleash their full power for 3-4 turns.
Good video, I remember getting this game as a lad but really not vibing with it even after all these years. It wasn't until last month after so much pestering from a friend that I downloaded the Pokemon TCG app on my phone. The line you said about opening packs, hoping for a strong card to make your deck better really rung true for me haha. I gotta dig that cartridge out now.
This is a great video summarizing an overlooked and underappreciated game. Great work. Subbed.
Thank you sea otter. I'm really excited to bring you more.
Me 2 sub can't wait for other games I like how he breaks em down
DUDE! When I was a kid, I would have this up on my gameboy for hours while I laid in bed just listening to the music. It is the single greatest soundtrack for any video game ever. I will die on that hill. I still listen to these songs to this day as I work.
The sequel to this game is so good as well. It's a bit longer, and there's some battles that force new rules onto you that may make you have to change your deck around, but it's still great, and made me wish we kept getting digital TCG games like this.
Wait! There is a sequel game?
@@Death36669 Yeah, it was Japan only, but there's an english fan translation for it on the internet.
I'm not big into TCGs, generally speaking, but Pokemon TCG (GBC) has a special place in my heart. I loved it growing up
When you showed those pack covers I immediately went back to my childhood and remembered how good this game was. Thanks for the memories!
Hey dude great video! I never comment on videos so I gotta say it really spoke to me :)
Played this game so much as a kid and explored so many archetypes. Returned to it years later with a new set of competitive mtg eyes as well and you really do default to optimizing decks and finding the best strategies which was also super fun.
It's also one of my favorite soundtracks! My favorite song is definitely the normal duel theme!
I also did play tcg2 a few weeks ago and had so much fun seing 'new' old cards to the carpool! It throws back so much from the first game and has alot of twists to keep it fresh and challenging!
Thanks again!
Ahhhh the ol' lurking type eh haha. Nah I appreciate you commenting.
Yeah we seem to have liked the same aspects for sure. Im glad I got into it, even if a tad late.
Always love seeing vidoes that shows off this gem of a game. Was good back then and its still good now. Also the music, dear god the music, absolutely fantastic.
As a longtime magic player and release day pokemon player, thanks for the video. Your beginnings sound a lot like my sister's! I actually gave her my blastoise and charizard foils! Thanks for the video.
thanks for watching im glad you liked it!
This game made car trips as a child such a treat.
It’s a classic. I love the RPG aspect and play it on my 3DS every once in a while.
I loved this game buuuuut one thing I hated is that rng is predetermined. If you save state, you could redo coin flips, this will reveal that the coin flips are predetermined and will not change.
At that point just use cheats for always head 🤷🏻
That's exactly why i removed the autosave feature during duels from my mod, to avoid rng manipulation. I always abused it when i play.
@@SvenHeidemann-uo2ylWhich mod?
@lucasLSD
Poketcg rebalanced. It's not released yet and will take quite some time until i do. Cards and most mechanics are done but i still have to rewrite most ai routines to fit their new decks and make them "smarter".
Didn’t even realize this was on the Switch Online expansion! Also didn’t know the legendary Bomberman64 composer made the music for this. Gonna boot this up asap. Great video & thanks for sharing the info!
30 years on this earth and I had no idea they made a gameboy version of the TCG lol
This is such a good game, I wish there were updated versions with exactly the same UI, format and layout but with all the expansion card sets.
Its the game that got me into playing the card game back in early 2010's when i was around my early teens.
Back when Pokemon Tcg wasn't as popular as Yugioh and Magic
I just wanted to say, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos practically binge watching them, my only criticism is (a selfish one) I wish they were longer 😅. Great stuff dude I look forward to future videos!
Thanks a lot that means the world to me. I just did my longest video to date, but it's about Ocarina of Time.
In general I think I would like my videos to be close to 20 minute minimums but I also never want to feel like im forcing anything so if I fall short its because I didn't feel I had anything left to say.
But I'm really excited to bring you much more content so that even if the videos are shorter, there are a lot of them haha. Thanks again.
@@Livvvid As much as I would enjoy a long form video, I completely understand not wanting to force your work. The way you create these projects are working well for you and I will enjoy them regardless of length. Thank you for the quality content!
I remember using the song of the water gym to go to sleep. You totally missed it in the video. It was such a calming, soothing, hypnotizing melody.
This was a good video as someone who played this game when it came out and had the player guide for it. Only thing that was really missing was Imakuni
@@ryanb3632 But do you own the real version of Imakuni?
I absolutely love this game. I wish there were more like it but I understand why huge companies choose not to make more (since they tend to not be very profitable).
The closest thing to this in recent times is the second part of Inscryption (which I heard was inspired by Pokemon tcg gbc).
New here and definitely subbing, this game was leagues ahead of its times back and then and is lovely to play today! Excellent video!
Thank you. Glad to have you. Excited to bring you more.
This game was my 8th grade year! I played nonstop summer 2000 and was able to successfully sneak it in class for a while until a teacher caught me and confiscated my gbc. My parents made me leave it on the counter every day before school after that and I was so sad lol.
Jesus, just listening to the music again in this video sends me right back to 13 years old. Great video!
Funnily enough, I actually played through this myself a couple months ago, shortly after Pocket came out.
For all these years, I never really understood card games, and even when I tried it just didn’t go well - Hearthstone, TES Legends, none of it really clicked. Pocket’s simplification of the process really went a long way towards helping me figure out the flow.
As for GBC itself, it’s genuinely super-fun. I slowly built up a simple Ninetales/Arcanine deck I found in a Gamefaqs guide (Dancing Embers baybeeeeee), and in practice, the game does a great job of automating a lot of minutiae, which keeps the pace nice and brisk. I even had some goofy Cards Moments happen, like the psychic master accidentally milling himself to a loss, or the Dragon E4 leader losing after 4 turns because he couldn’t evolve his Dratinis.
Now here I am, having bought two packs, then the Ninetales EX deck, and now I’m having a wonderful time battling with other people on Live. I can’t overstate how well both Pocket and GBC do at making the card game approachable - if even I can learn how to play it, then anyone can.
Sounds like a fun deck. Always loved ninetails myself lol.
Thank you for sharing, love comments like these. Thank you for watching and commenting, I appreciate you.
Nintendo Switch Online version can be played online with your friends, and it will simulate Gameboy Link, so you'll be able to trade and battle with your friends! But only with them. No lobbies, nothing like that. You have to arrange it outside of the software.
But could I play against and trade someone else if I have their friend code or would both switches need to be close to each other?
@@Livvvid As long as you're both added as friends on your Switches it will work online, even with switches on different continents.
And the best thing is if you use this game to learn how to play the tcg, you can jump right into the modern game because everything is almost the same, except for a few new mechanics but those are super easy to pick up and mostly selfexplainitory.
Great video mate! I haven't played this game since I was a kid, might need to pick it up again!
My cousin gave me a bunch of the original Pokemon games when I was younger. I was a Gen 3 kiddie, so it was really exciting to play what came before me. What surprised me then was that TCG GB would remain my favorite - both as a kid and to this day, and I will adore it forever. One of my favorites of the entire Game Boy lineup
Still playing this to this day, even with TCG Pocket now being a thing. The music makes me SO nostalgic.
The music is actually sooooo good
Learned how to play the TCG from this game. Just played it again recently on an emulator and its still a fun play through. So much so I bought a complete in box version for my Pokémon display.
Thanks for this video. I loved this game as a kid. This is a trip down memory lane.
I've never played this game but after this video I think I'll have to give it a try on my miyoo mini +. Nice video!
Then I've accomplished my goal. If you do come back and let me know what you thought.
Thank you for watching and commenting, I appreciate you.
I loved this game as a kid thanks for the trip down memory lane 🔥
Really great video on an underrated game. I loved it as a kid! I was always more of a Yu-Gi-Oh player irl as that is what my friends played but this game was fun and fairly easy to pick up.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Livvvid Excited to check out your other videos! Very high quality for such a small channel. Wish you luck and keep it going!
Awesome video. Loved this game as a kid! Keep up the good work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved this game as a kid spent one whole summer holiday playing this game as a kid good memories
Allot of people overlook something in this game that blew my mind when i first noticed it.
The packs...what are they called? Isn't 1 name popping out of the rest? Indeed.
In this 2000s game they already had a pack name that got a physical release 15+ years later "Evolutions"
God i love TF out of pokemon i swear 🥰
I still play this game every couple years. Thanks, Delta.
great video bro keep up the good work! i loved this game as a kid and you respected it so well
Glad you liked it thank you for the kind words. Can't wait to make more.
I always wanted to own and try out this game as a kid to see what it was. Thanks for making a video of it!
of course. Thank you for watching. excited to bring you more.
It really is. I still play it to this day!!
This video just made me want to bust out my original copy and play through it again... goddamn it haha I only recall beating this game once and struggling so much on the last battle. I'm pretty sure i had to attempt it close to 10 times adjusting my deck a couple of times, but after i finally won it felt really satisfying. It's such a shame that they never offically brought out pokemon TCG 2 to the english market.
Club master duel song was always so good, after spending like an hour or more depending how good or bad your deck was fighting everyone in the gym and finally being ready to take on the leader. That awesome music started playing and it always brought upon the feeling of "Let's do this" for me
I'm surprised at how quickly you make your videos, keep it up I think that soon you will double your subscribers or even more.
Hahahha. Its cus i do this full time and I'm kinda crazy with it now. I wake up at 5am and do script/editing before streaming for 6 hours at around 3pm haha.
its soundtrack alone is so iconic
Thanks for the hype! Just bought this CIB! 😂
This is definitely one of my all-time favourite Pokemon games.
I still play through this game at least once a year. One of the all time best
The games a lot of fun (I still need to play my copy of TCG 2). The biggest draw pulling me back to this game for me is actually the sound track.
The music slaps and is timeless.
Blastoise deck is busted, and ptobably the best way to playthrough it.
I have not played this game in forever, but it is only because its sequel is just so much better in every single way; it recycles all of the great aspects of the first and adds more cards, more opponents, more features, and entire second island, more great music, and an actual attempt at a story. Please do yourself a favor and play it if you like the original.
grew up with pokemon gen 1 but never knew about this game until a few years ago obviously the moment i learned about it i instantly played it and i liked it...still play this from time to time...
a few weeks ago a friend introduced me to pokemon tcg pocket for android ( i almost never play smartphone games but since its pokemon tcg i tried)...thats what i play right now on the go
Thats it, im loading it up haha! Never really got to play it as a kid, time to play it on switch! GREAT video as always dude, I hope to catch you on twitch soon bro
Hope you enjoy it!
@Livvvid yeah dude 😎
I'm one of the luckier people when it comes to this game. Like a ton of people, my mom bought me this game in 1998 along with Pokemon Blue version. The holo promo Meowth card the TCG Gameboy game came with lived in my original collection binder, in my closet from 2000-2021 when I ultimately opened it and sent it off to PSA for grading. Upon getting it back, it got a PSA 10 grade, and when I went to look up what it sells for, I realized there were zero of them sold on the entire internet for years since it's apparently nearly impossible to get a PSA 10 on those due to print lines and damage from packaging. To this day, out of a total of 3,600 graded Meowths, only 69 have gotten a 10. It sold immediately for $2,000 back in 2021. Pretty solid investment, mom.
It’ll forever be, amazing
This video game was fantastic. Taught me how to play the TCG. It's amazing how faithful it is to the real card game compared to say Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories. The pixel artists faithfully adapted the real card illustrations and the music is fantastic too.
The pixel card art still looks great to this day. There is a sequel that released in Japan only but fans have translated the game to English.
I love this game. Played it a lot as a kid and recently played it in a ROM emulator and then I purchased my nintendo switch to be able to officially play the game. I love my Nidoking deck and using toxic.
I played GB2 for countless hours back then. Always hoped to see another Pokemon TCG game with similar style but that's not gonna happen any soon imo..
Interesting random fact I've heard since back then is - all the important named characters such as Mason Lab members, Club Masters and furthurmore, got their names from actual people behind development of TCG, or ones who have won the Japanese championships. (At least with the original JP version)
Probably one of my favorite pokémon games. I always get excited starting a new game.
I’d imagine the og Mr. Mime card is a big reason why official tournaments restrict you to the newest sets. That card alone would be able to shut down most EX (and their variants) cards, no problem.
Ichiro Shimakura went so hard with this soundtrack, all coming out of tiny gbc speakers.
I was one of the few among my peers who actually learned to play the game and even attented the Pokemon League when Fossil was released. As a new player you received a small booklet in which you collected stamps for various activities like playing a match or teaching the game to another player. Once you got enough stamps they gave you a promo card and a pin which depicted one of the badges of the real game. You could get all eight of them. I´ll never forget beating the shit out of Charizards with my fast Rattata deck. Good times, good times.
Grinding battles for specific packs to make the decks you want could be such an unlucky pain in the ass but i love it
Yeah exactly. Early game it's "annoying" but only because you know you can make the deck better. opening a pack and find a tiny little improvement is really addictive.
I was collecting and playing Pokemon TCG back in the late 90s/early 2000s, and I don't remember this game. No one I knew had it, they only had the main Pokemon titles. I did have that one Yu-Gi-Oh PS1 game, Forbidden Memories. Like you, I couldn't care less about the investment aspect, I'm not collecting to gain money. All of my original WotC cards are worn and beat up from being played and riffled on the concrete sidewalks of Greater New Orleans. I have always treated my Pokemon cards exactly the same as I would treat a deck of Bicycle playing cards.
Had this game when I was in 6th grade. Beat it, loved every minute of it, and was in awe of how much better the colors were than in gen 1 and 2. Also was in awe of my character being able to run 😂
Great video! Never seen you before, but I'm a subscriber now! This game is my jam that I found as an adult via emulation and it's sooo good to see it get some love.
That all said, you're just gonna disrespect Ronald's theme and not mention it??? His theme is so funky, he should be allowed to join the DK Crew!
As someone who always traveled around a lot, it was pretty much my only option to play the TCG. It’s why I was hoping for a 2nd game. All these years later I played some online then finally the pocket. Still think it would be cool to have another story for a single player though, but I get it if it’s not for everyone. Maybe I’ll find a good fan mod someday for 2nd, 3rd, 4th game with new cards.
I dunno how games that are considered gems always landed on my lap when i was a kid?! this being one of them. equally as fun as playing pkmn yllw back then.
The Yugioh TCG games on Gameboy advance slap. You get a pack for winning a duel. It’s that simple and so good
I played Eternal Duelist Soul and a few others a lot, I want to make videos for those eventually.
The "Mister Mime part" made me laugh! :O LOL
For the algo, I freakin love this game after playing it for the first time ever.
It's actually more complex than a regular game boy pokemon fighting game. And the combos are sick. The trainer cards are nifty.
Thank you! and i agree, i really did love it. Thinking of playing the sequel next.
@@Livvvidwoahh, is the sequel only in Japanese?
yup lol. really a bummer. but there are english translations
i still have my original cart and gameboy and i have been playing it randomly since i was a kid. To be honest i enjoy this game more than some of the games in the main series. Now that i play pokemon pocket on my phone. I have PTSD with the coin flips lol. This game was when all the bad luck happened and it transfered into my pokemon pocket gameplay now!!! lol. On a final note the music still give me shivers today. I listen to the soundtrack regularly and its one of my favorite OSTs of all time. Pure Bangers!
Def recommend the sequel and would watch your review of it! Great vid
This is such a fun game, so far the infamous banned rain dance deck has been able to go 125 and 0 against the battle terminal lol
I just played this for the first time the other day and it was among the best games I have ever played
The game is so simple, yet played so well.
