Spot on. I hate to critique female players because a lot of people just assume it's sexism, but her playing really is below average. If a dude was to have the same level of playing as her no-one would watch his videos. Can't knock her for it because she's just playing to her advantage but it's just a bit sad that some genuinely amazing guitarists have less of a following than her
Stfu, you guys are the reason everyone slates the guitar community. It’s nice seeing a woman enjoy and interested in playing guitar. They’re good friends who like hanging out with each other! Leave her be. She’s a lot better than most.
I’m really loving these videos Chris! I’ve been a big fan of all you guys for many years so it’s really fun to watch collab’s like this one and the SRV guitar video as well. Im looking forward to more of your videos, keep up the good work!
Man I’d just like to try a 59 just to say I had😄 that’s in perfect shape. Looks new. Wow. Impressive. Had a few custom shops. 54, 58 and 59. Currently playing a 58 Murphy Lab heavy aged Wildwood spec’d kindred burst LP. It’s actually pretty awesome but the real deal? It’s definitely on my bucket list one day. Beautiful Strat as well. You have some killer guitars there that’s foresure.
That might be one of the best sounding Bursts I've heard on this 'ere RUclipss. The playing and the amp help a lot perhaps. Only Glen Kuykendall's 59 sounds as good.
Cool does Wes work at Wallace guitars now ? Where does one reach Tommy at ? Never seen them there before. Does Andrew still work there. ??? fun shop been going to the Dallas show since it started. That 54 is sweet have to get back in the shop.. been kinda busy lol........
Thanks a lot for the nice comment! Might be best to reach out to Wes or Tommy directly on Instagram for more up-to-date information, such an amazing shop 🎸🔥❤
Did they have any Dumbles at Jimmys ? I had one in there awhile.... Then Alex passed and the prices doubled overnight. Is Pedal Pawn still in Texas you should play this Dumble if so.
I’ve played one 59 LP Standard and a 1960 LP Custom. I’ve lost count how many modern USA and Custom Shop Les Pauls. The vintage one is in no way comparable to any of the modern ones. To say a new version is even close is a ridiculous and crass overstatement of the facts. They look similar. After that the comparison ends. If I had the cash for a 1959 LP Standard I would hunt one down and buy it on the spot and not think twice about it.
Ive played a lot of oldies and modern ones, those good resonant modern ones will sound great as soon they start aging. There is no magic bullet, thats why a lot of those great artists ditched 50s guitars and used what the market was offering in the 60s and 70s. Lots of well know artists used Norlins too.
What is the difference? Specifically. Because if it’s that clear, surely Gibson would’ve done something to rectify it. I haven’t played a 50s Les Paul so I’m not doubting you. But bearing in mind there’s no magic involved, as such, what are the things that the new ones don’t have?
"A fool and his money are soon parted" 😂 The truth is, a lot of vintage guitar dealers are crooks, selling fake and 'lashed up' crap to the gullible. But the reality of how much fakery goes on doesn't get likes and views on social media, only 'holy grail' spiel content does. Good luck to the people buying this stuff.
Since all the old collectors who have passed including musicians enthusiast you're going to see all those guitars in about 10 years at garage sales pawn etc for next to nothing.
These old guitars aren’t fundamentally all that different from modern ones. They’re all just wire, wood, and magnets. There’s no more magic in one solely due to its age than any other. They all can sound different, and good or bad depending.
100% agree. It’s all hype. The only reason they are sought after is because our guitar heroes played them. Think about it, in the 60’s, when the rock gods were coming to be, these guitars were 10 years old and discounted, hence the reason they could afford them. Go find a used guitar that has the feel and bond with it. Make it your own and put the time in. In 50 years, people will want your guitar.
@@schuckstephenyeah but some of them rule dude. The best vintage example of a strat Ive played has bested the best custom shop ive played. Ofc ymmv and I am certainly not in the price bracket of affording a 50s/60s fender or gibson but I have played a bunch and the duds are duds but the finer examples can be remarkable. This isnt magic though, its the sum of its parts. Its empirically real that the usa in the 50/60s was riding high and domestic manufacturing and skilled labor was at a height itll never reach again. We have higher quality automized industry now and great homogeneity in marketplace consistency but that also levels out and decreases the likeliness of exemplar examples being produced by large companies. Perhaps a closer analogue is a clone from a master luthier who will be investing all their energy into the instrument and sourcing high quality components that were standard 60/70 years ago. Plus it was a new industry fueled by inspiration and a smaller pool of aggressive competition
@@schuckstephenit’s so hilarious that people pay thousands for stuff that was considered outdated junk by many mainstream player of the day. Pedals are even worse. I’ve seen ts-10 overdrives go for 1000$ when they are literally worth 40$.
@@ohpotatoesandmolasses Haha, totally. And to be clear for other folks in this thread, there's nothing wrong with old guitars. They definitely can feel and play differently. Old wood can look much cooler than new wood, I'm all for that 100%. But all of these channels where people 'oooh' and 'aaah' over the TONE, like it's some one-of-a-kind religious experience, is a bit silly. They probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a blind A/B test with a newer guitar.
Investor value is not necessarily musical value for these oldies. Any Traditional, Standard or Custom Les Paul is more than capable for recording or live play. Once you put the guitar through pedals, amps, compressors, gates, equalizers, delays, chorus, synthesizers, they are basically indistinguishable from one another. It’s all hype and myth because in the end, it all boils down to opinion. Investors spoil everything because they cause the value of quality guitars to inflate beyond the reach of good musicians.
Facebook people saying pedal pawn boys are sissies posted a photo of a pink silver sky with a dude in a one piece bikini well I'm out of here I don't support sissies
“Hey Mimi can you help me with video?”
“Yeah sure how?”
“Just wear a tank top and walk around next to me”
Pretty much. We all know how Mimi got her following, and it's not her guitar playing.
I think she was running the camera most of the time.

Loved the sound of the Les Paul through the Deluxe with all of that reverb! 👌 the strat was beautiful too. Great video!
You can build your own studio, and plant it full with goodies!
Enjoying the videos! Keep ‘em coming!

Wow! That 59!🔥🔥🔥😍

I wouldn’t be seen dead buying a guitar under $1 million 🤔😂❤

That first riff sounds like a song??? I forgot the name
That white strat with the golden hardware though … wow.😮
Mary kaye strats are fine fiddles
now you know why there is a body contour on a LP

Nice but I don't get the stupid prices.
have heard that only so many " 59 s made in 1959 why are there many more on the market
THE holy grail guitar? There are actually 2! Gods #1 Lp and Gods Double neck. Very simple!
How come Joe Bonamassa doesn't own that LP yet? The strat would make a good door stop.

the strat sounds great ,, better than LP. has that spark and clarity to it.. given said that prices of both these things is just stupid and absurd.

Too much reverb on the Lester.
