Back from vacation and catching up on your videos. I love both these bottles and don't remember if I ever blinded them against each other. I'll do a blind of finished bourbons again with these two included!
Great ‘Battle of the Bottles’ - I always enjoy your videos. As others have stated, there is batches variation on the Cigar Blend. There is a very informative stream from Jason at Mash and Drum where Nancy Fraley sent him 10 samples from various batches and then joined him live as he sipped, made comments and ranked. Cheers!
I do like that this "Tony" guy, whoever they are, get to be the scapegoat for the blend bombs. Maybe the next one will be good... Mix It or Nix It. Blend It or Send It.
Have 3 early batches of the JMCB and they definitely have different levels of flavors. My favorite B#28 has loads of dates & figs and even some walnuts. Cheers!
Colour balance is different. Camera 1 is the warmest, and 3 is the coldest. 2 and 3 also seem sharper to camera 1, or different contrast. But it was a quick cut.
Trying to color match all 3 was a nightmare. I sold the Canon R6 MKII the next day so now I am down the the R5 MKII and the R5. I shot my Sip or Skip video the next day and I think it has a better color balance. I am still trying to figure out the settings for the R5 MKII.
@@whiskeyisajourney I'm no cinematographer .... must use to do some graphic design WAYYYYYYYYYY back in the day. So take my comments with a grainy grain of salt.
Nice Review Peter. I have bottle killed JM Cigar Blend batches 93 and 140. I am down to a few pours of batch 181. I have batch 267 and batch 309 as backups. I was not a fan of Angels Envy Cask Strength, especially at $250ish. 🥃
The Angels Envy price tag is crazy high. I will probably be content with this bottle and skip the next few years releases. JM Cigar Blend on the other hand....well I will probably pick up another bottle.
@@whiskeyisajourney It's so popular right? I guess it's just my palette - we all differ! Love your videos!! Happy weekend!! I do love the Barrell Seagrass so much!! 🙂
You have some of the best production values around for your reviews. I honestly can't tell the difference between the 3 cameras. I like both AECS and JMCB. The only thing holding these back is their high prices. But at least its tasty for the money. Great review as always.
Thanks. I've always been happy with the production quality of my videos but I'm always tinkering. And now that I have a new camera, the tinkering continues. I agree both of these bottles taste good but the price is too high.
Your setup is very good great angles a great quality. I really like the transition when you take your first sip.
Thanks. Since I shot this video i sold the M6 MKII. So I'm back to 2 angles starting Friday. Three cameras was overkill.

I will check that out. I enjoy Nancy Fraley and Jason. Cheers!

I have heard from multiple people that the early batches (double digit) were better compared to later releases in the triple digits.

Very nice review! Not a Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend Fan.
Fair enough! Thank you as always. Cheers!
