Me after watching Takemichi get beat up every episode and starts crying: oh that’s why!
The band Official Hige Dandism wrote this song specifically for Tokyo Revengers. That’s why this songs hits, they’ve captured the emotions and story of Tokyo Revengers and Takemichi so perfectly. You can really feel the love they have for the series. Also the second ED of Tokyo Revengers is by an artist called Nakimushi which means cry baby in Japanese. The ED’s lyrics really suits Kazutora which is probably why Kazutora’s VA did a cover of that song.

This is genuinely one of if not my favorite anime opening, never has an opening + the visuals encapsulated a show so perfectly in my opinion.
0:40 is by far the greatest opening sequence i've seen this year, Takemichi running without no hope after tried to change the past many times, remembering all the things that will happen in the future and finally collapsing. And then, he again remember one major reason to keep on trying, because he loves and wants to save the whole Manji gang.
