Oh my your not wearing a coat! Your weather looks wonderful. We are STILL under about 1foot of snow lol. Thanks for sharing such good info on pruning. Take care-Debbie
Awesome. Really wanna try growing these in Antigua & Barbuda. Rumor has it muscadines are the only grape that might make it through our hot humid climate. Fav grape ever!
Good video.. We have large vines as well. Be sure to compost your stumps, which Im sure you do. What do you do for Japanese beetles? We have them really bad in the summer. Ive got some tips if you dont have a good solution. Thanks for video..
What kind of dog is that you have that I saw at 5:34? I have one but do not know what type it is. I have Muscadine vines in the wooded area of where I live and they reach high up in the trees. Good eating and make great wine and jellies.
We have some vines that have not been tended. The tree line has grown in around them and of course they are way up in the trees. Do you have any advice as to how to get them off of the trees without killing them? We would also cut down the trees eventually also.
hmm.. What you called the 'cordon' is actually referred to as a 'spur'. The horizontal arm(s) of the vine is the cordon. The colder it is when the plant is dormant, the less likely they are to have sap running. Cheers.
I have a few vines growing that I need to prune back and your info should help me out, thanks. One question for you is when is the best time to transplant muscadine? I live in east central Alabama.
Early spring is what we do but in all honesty you can do it whenever you just may have to baby it more and pay close attention to transplant shock. Thanks for watching
Thank you for sharing your vid and your knowledge, it was very helpful. I am planning to get a few from Ison for this year, so your vid was just what I was looking for. One question I do have is, how long is your grape trellis? 10 ft? 20 ft? Thanks. ~G
the folks that do this as a business state it this way on your main runner take out all laterals at this distance from your little finger to your thumb spread this will increase the size on the fruit try this and you will see. also makes harvisting easer.

We don't have a issue with them, but that might be because we have ducks free ranging .
