Oregon Coast Aquarium releases giant Pacific octopus, Cleopatra

We have very bittersweet news: the Aquarium team recently released our widely-admired giant Pacific octopus, Cleopatra. She came to the Aquarium after being found by fisherman in a crab pot!
Cleopatra earned celebrity status at the Aquarium after impressing and educating guests with her outgoing and curious personality during Octopus Encounters. She was featured on KGW News, Octonation, and Wild Charles, among other media outlets.
She was an incredible ambassador for her species, and she will be missed!
