    I've been running my $200 Chinese diesel heater for 3 years now with no issues except for the dimming of the LED control panel. I always run my on high only. I purchased extra parts but never had to use them yet. I'm going to go for a 4th winter before considering service. I love my heater !!!!! Oh yeh , forgot to mention it is connected with an hour meter. 743 hours. Wish me luck on the 4th winter. I believe a proper install is the key to success !! Love you guys.

    There's a big difference from the Gas one and Diesel one, the Diesel ones no matter what brand will gum up the burn chamber

    • @sail4free1
      @sail4free1 Год назад +3

      Yup -- gas burns a lot cleaner than diesel. Plus Chrome has one of the better brands. The cheap diesel heaters need to be cleaned out once a year but, of course, everyone waits until they quit working . . . and then they clean 'em (or pay someone else to clean 'em) because they have to. :(
      Makes me love our Wave 6 even more -- 22 years of service so far -- 100% efficient -- *zero* carbon monoxide -- and *zero* maintenance. :)

    • @jamesgill5511
      @jamesgill5511 Год назад +2

      @@sail4free1 You can run the diesel Webasto style heaters on kerosene which burns cleaner, though you lose a few BTU's. In the confines of a van the difference is negligible. There is also less(almost no) odor from the heaters exhaust on kerosene.

    • @Biggja22
      @Biggja22 Год назад

      As a truck driver we get the diesel webasto 2000 stock as a bunk heater in most modern trucks. We don't baby that thing and just run it when we're cold. It just starts and runs when we turn it on I've never ever had one single problem with a webasto diesel heater.

    • @sail4free1
      @sail4free1 Год назад

      @@Biggja22 -- But I suspect you're rolling with engine heat most of the time. Your actual diesel heater run hours will pale compared to a typical van dweller who might average no more than an hour or two of drive time per day . . . if that.

    • @Biggja22
      @Biggja22 Год назад

      @@sail4free1 during the winter months I'd say the diesel bunk heater runs at least 10 hours a day while I'm parked on break.

    I’ve got a 24V diesel Webasto in my truck. It lives on a low setting 24/7 all winter, might get cranked up to 50% if it’s particularly cold. It’s now 10 years old and I’ve never serviced it once 😂 it just does it’s thing without complaint.

    I believe that one of the main differences between the cheap and expensive heaters is that the cheap ones are usually DIY, and the expensive ones are generally installed by a professional. Poor instructions, and poor quality components such as incorrect fuel lines also contribute to the issue.
