Enjoy watching the video and seeing all those new calves. Glad that mom and baby calf are doing fine after such an ordeal. Thanks for doing a follow up.👍❤️🇨🇦
I am really enjoying your videos of calving season. I was born/raised on a farm in SE Saskatchewan, and calving season was always my favourite time of the year. I lived in Wpg, for a year, and then in P la P, for 6 years before moving to BC. These videos always take me back to this time of year and I anxiously await the next video. Thanks for taking the time to make my day.
Another good interesting video. Hope the blue eyed calf can see. Interesting to know about all the different calves and their dams. Thank you for sharing.🐂
Lmao lil buddy didn’t like the cold snow n really didn’t wanna walk on it lolol… Aawwwww he was a big boy!! I think after being all cramped up in mom n all of the pulling he may take a couple of days to get up on his feet properly…. Fingers crossed he does get up n about properly real soon… Awwww I hope the foster moms become much better wit the foster babies for u… It’s heartbreaking wen ya loose some lil ones but as u say it’s inevitable wen u have so many being born… Lil ones love to scare the humans wen there having there death naps… I like to think that they secretly laugh at u wen they realise that they give u a bit of a scare lol… cxxxxcx
We would only keep bulls from cows that we AI'd. We leave them in tact and watch them grow in hopes. All the embryo calves are for another farmer and left as bulls and then they sell at an auction as purebred
We currently have 2 shorthorn bulls, 1 black Angus(for our heifers), 3 simmental bulls and a full blood. We would like to sell 1 possibly 2 of our bulls. We will know for sure after this Friday's semen test.
Thanks for the follow-up on the C-section calf. He was a big boy. Love seeing the variety of colour in your calves.
Good to see that the big calf and his mom are doing well.

My apologies if this has been asked in other videos. What cameras are you using to monitor your cattle?
Precision camera system from Allen Leigh security. No worries, if I have mentioned it, it was a long time ago.
How do you determine which bull calves to keep bulls or casterate?
We would only keep bulls from cows that we AI'd. We leave them in tact and watch them grow in hopes. All the embryo calves are for another farmer and left as bulls and then they sell at an auction as purebred
Do you only use shorthorn bulls ?

70.1k. Yeah
Question, If you have purebred calf’s why do you castrate the bulls? Could you not sell them as purebred breeding bulls?
We could, we just don't have them all papered and selling bulls is something we aren't sure if we want to get into our not.
Какие хорошие телятки
Вы находитесь на юге Канады,я поняла ,Какой хороший теленочек .У вас много работы ,когда телятся коровки
Yes, the cattle are lots of work during the winter
Maybe breed calves for lower birth weights with higher growth rates… this would help with less calving issues. Just a suggestion.
We have some cows with lots of power and that is more our issue then bulls. Sometimes we get big calves when genetics should be birthing average
