    Hi Julie. I'm a private reseller & I source from charity shops, carboots & the 99p items on ebay that are ending soon. So my story is short but relates to a 99p bargain from ebay. I won a Cath Kidston dress for 99p....yes, 99p 👏😃. The seller cancelled the order & refunded me to which I messaged her to ask why. Her reply was that she's not letting a Cath Kidston dress go for 99p as it cost over £50 & hardly worn!!! I was very annoyed but there was no point in arguing with her so all I could say was, that's the risk you take when you set the auction price at 99p 🤣. I reported her but don't know the outcome 🤔 plus negative feedback left for her 🤣. Love watching your videos; so informative & fun xx

      Aww thank you so much and yes similar has happened to Rob my husband. He won a great item ( can’t remember what it was but I know it was clothing ) and the same thing…. Won the item for £2 and it was cancelled and refunded. If you are going to start an auction at 99p you run the risk of selling cheap and you are contracted to let the item go from what it sells for xx thanks so much for watching and for sharing x

    Thanks, it's great to know I'm not alone in noticing more of this behaviour. I think Ebay changing to value the buyer over the seller has opened this can of worms, with certain buyers taking full advantage.
    People can be very rude. You've inspired me to be tougher and keep going

    Hi Julie, my eBay shop mostly has cosmetics. I sometimes get really irritating buyers say my items are “not genuine” even though I can guarantee you that they are! They open and use items and then complain to eBay and I am forced to accept a used item back and refund them. It’s so upsetting and irritating and eBay provide absolutely no support for me with these situations 🥺 great video, thank you xx

    • @Ecoreseller
      @Ecoreseller  2 года назад +2

      That is very unfair. I think eBay should have a policy that if a new item is opened or tags removed Etc we shouldn’t have to accept the return or refund. It is so damaging to our business’ and very unfair and buyers know they can get away with it and have no consequences 💖

    You can't help feeling that way when they're so rude and with the way ebays set up now with money back guarantee for the buyer there's just no need for it.
    I had a woman put a half price offer in a few weeks back and as I was trying to clear stock I accepted, she then messaged me to tell me that I'd washed the top and there was a colour run and the top was blue now instead of white, I messaged her back very politely and said as per photos the top has always been light blue and nowhere does it show or say its white 🤷‍♀️ she then messaged back and said 'you have not washed this top, it stinks' 🤦‍♀️ I explained I wash all my items before they even come into my house but she was welcome to return, she then replied calling me a liar, I didn't bother replying because I can't prove I washed it and she can't prove I didn't so it was pointless dialogue. I've not heard from her since but she's now blocked. Some people just love to moan, I try not to let it wind me up but I always find it seems to be the ones that lowball you that you end up having the problems with 🤦‍♀️😅

      Bless you thanks for sharing. I feel with a lot of these type of messages people are just angry in general and want to lash out or just have some sort of confrontation. We need to remember it’s not personal a lot of the time and just try and be robotic but sometimes it is just so hard xx

    Hi Julie, I think I’ve been lucky as I’ve had very few non payers, but what I do occasionally get that irritates the hell out of me is a clothing return for a spurious reason. Just recently I sold a blouse, it was so nice I was considering keeping it, but ended up selling it and it went quickly. The buyer messages me saying it was stained and bobbly - and even though I was convinced that it wasn’t I started to doubt myself and think oh have I missed something. Of course when it was returned it was completely stain free and no bobbling whatsoever. She obviously just didn’t want to pay return postage. It’s so infuriating that someone will lie just to save themselves £3 approx. I used to get so annoyed about this sort of buyer but I’ve made myself just take the view that it’s going to happen and I can’t let myself get stressed out about it, and to be honest, since I’ve made that change to my thinking, it doesn’t bother me quite so much! Brilliant video by the way xx big hugs xx

    It is hard not to let mean people ruin your day when you try so hard to sell good things. I would value your and fellow resellers opinions on this: Is it advisable to put in the listing NO Couriers? A buyer said she was arranging a courier to collect a fragile item she had paid for. It is a very delicate, vintage item (very large too) and collection only. She never asked me if she could use a courier and didn't even give me any choice of dates and times. Anyway, I explained I was worried about its fragility but eventually I agreed to package it (so much bubble wrap) as I wanted this item out of my hallway and I need the money for my leccy bill!). I get a text from the courier saying they were going to be 3 hours late which meant 22.00. I explained it was too late as I have an infant. I messaged the buyer and asked her to rearrange but to please check with me that I will be in and to ensure courier has the eBay code to scan. Again, she didn't do this but luckily I was in. Courier arrived and poor guy didn't know what I was on about and kept me waiting on the door step for 26 minutes. What a hassle.

    I was told an item never showed up but i KNEW it did, her feedback for others told similar stories to the one she was telling me, so don't forget to look at the feedback left for others. I have also had challenging sellers - this week - I found an item for on eBay, collection only. I made an offer which was declined as she said I lived too far and eBay said she had to post it (it was collection only). I explained I was coming to that area as visiting a relative and would collect it and would pay immediately by Paypal if she preferred. She refused both my offers which were generous and went with someone nearer! This seems unfair and since when does proximity mean reliable? We know how many local people don't show up to collect items on Marketplace. I once sold a collection only item to someone who lived in Scotland and I was in Brighton at the time, made no difference to me as he was collecting it. Last week - I agreed to pay the selling price of an item on Markerplace and was on my way (ie spending diesel) and en route the seller messages me to say someone offered him more and had already paid into his bank account. I said that wasn't very fair as I'm on my way and perhaps he should have asked me if I would have matched the amount. He then messaged me back to say the amount and would I have paid? and I said yes but it's now irrelevant as he's paid. He then said he hasn't paid yet. I said but you said he had already paid. Anyway, a few more messages (wasting my time) and then he suddenly says "he's now paid". Waste of time and an underhand thing to do. eBay is so frustrating at times and does generally favour buyers but at least there are rules, whereas Marketplace has virtually none.

    Rude buyers or overdemanding buyers are the worst. If I get any signs of people getting a bit agro or shirty I cancel the order. I get very fickle too haha... I sent an offer out on an item, buyer countered 2 times and then their last offer they offered 20p less than what i'd originally offered. I declined then had messages about my postage being too high, the condition didnt look perfect, i'll buy at your orginal offer blah blah... nope sorry mate that ship has sailed.

I found out through a group on FB restorers buy the doll take what they need and then want a refund claiming the above. I think buyers know how to get around refunds
