Thank you, this is a helpful video. A couple of suggestions: this video says to mark the sill stop 2 3/4" in from the lock end. The instructions that come with the devices say 3 1/8". I just installed several of these devices, and on the first one I followed the instructions that come in the pack and drilled a hole 3 1/8" from the end. Mistake. It should have been 2 3/4" as your video states. So, you need to align the instructions with the video (I think a better approach for placing the 3/8" hole in the sill stop is to install the mechanism first, and then visually see where the hole needs to be so that the push button will align properly. Another suggestion is to make the holes in both mechanisms larger, so after you install them they can be adjusted slightly as needed. I find that even with the template if the hole locations are off ever so slightly the device doesn't engage properly. Finally, I've installed several of these and I often have to add a small 'bumper' (like the kind you put on a cabinet door to keep it off the cabinet frame slightly) to the mechanism that is attached to the sill so that the push button will engage it. It seems like the arm on the push button isn't quite long enough to consistently engage the mechanism and allow the sash to be fully opened, so I add a bumper to it to fix this problem. In summary, these are good devices but there seems to be very little margin for error in their installation, and if you can build in some tolerance that would be great. Thank you.
