      Keykendee B yes. as a professional. I agree. or breakage will follow. and mom needs gloves..the chemicals aren't made to be on the fingertips. it's strong enough to melt away fingerprints 😓

  • @VersatileFemale01

    the relaxer is what straightens the hair, smoothing is making sure you doing have any snap back/buckle (curls). the processing time actually starts when relaxer first hits the hair. & it's always best to part your hair in 4 quads. starting at the hairline will cause breakage and extreme dryness.

      Everything can contribute to damage. If it ain't relaxers, it's bleach. If it ain't bleach, it's sulfates. Like whatever. We all gon die somehow anyway.

  • @Xmariaamariex
    @Xmariaamariex 7 лет назад +4

    Hey Destiny, have you tried French Perm stabilizer? It's like $7.99 at Sally's in a giants bottle. It basically stabilizes your hair after you neutralize your hair. It's a clear conditioner and it rebalances your hair after you neutralize the base (relaxer). You leave it on for 1-2 minutes. It's stops breakage, shedding, and leaves the hair silky. I recently learned you have to neutralize then stabilize, then you can do your regular deep conditioning.

    How much new growth did u have.. ?!?! that relaxer covered 4 inches (at least)... that can cause over processing on previously relaxed hair. I'm relaxed and used to apply the same way, but now I make an effort not to smooth the hair into a ponytail because u can unintentionally over relax ur sides, front and back. Hope this was helpful for someone. team relaxer!!!

    I am natural but love seeing u take care of your hair. However some of these natural hair people go over board with comments. What works for one does not work for all. Natural hair women are talking about how relaxer is bad for ur hair but what about the makeup we put on our face. Those products are not all natural. She can bash people for wearing a lot of makeup because she is a natural beauty. Bottom line is we should all have the freedom to do what we want with our hair without the natural hair patrols.

    I wish I could go completely natural but I don't have the time between my husband, nursing school, work and household chores I barely have time to sleep. That being said I try to stretch my relaxer as long as possible literally I can get away with doing a relaxer once a year. if it starts to get unmanageable, I put in box or crochet braids to stretch it out to the one year mark and its been doing wonders for my hair. In the three years I've been doing this my hair double in length. Someday i will go completely natural but this a better alternative for my lifestyle right now.

    I think your natural texture is pretty soft and you could stretch your relaxer longer so you could have max growth before I was natural I only got a relaxer 2x a year and my hair always stayed long (past bra strap) you should try it as a challenge like 6months no relaxer and see you results

    • @allofdestiny
      @allofdestiny  7 лет назад +4

      asia watson I've stretched 6 months before. check my relaxer playlist. i roller set my hair which gets my hair pretty straight, even my new growth. despite it not being seen on camera, since ut was stretched out from the roller set. It's there. thanks for watching.

    • @Nkay28
      @Nkay28 7 лет назад +1

      asia watson everyone can't do 6 months. I've tried it as well and only made it to 4. Although I feel like I don't have a lot of new growth at 4, I can't go past that. Maybe if I could do hair like Destiny, but I can't so 4 it is

  • @NMUSIC88
    @NMUSIC88 7 лет назад +4

    It just seems so thin. I'm not gonna say don't relax your hair because that's clearly what you wanna do, but you would retain more length and possible thickness of you stretched longer and stayed away from heat for at least 3-6 months. When I was relaxed, my hair was much longer and thicker than yours because I would stretch them out and only use direct heat on relaxer day. Roller sets and flexi-Rod sets were a way of life!

      MIss NONEOFURBIZNESS I don't know what your local beauty supply store has but my absolute fave is mizani butter blend sensitive scalp rhelaxer (spelled like that)...if I can't get that one, my other favorite is the doctor miracles coconut oil renewal in the clear box. Silk elements sensitive scalp used to be jam back in the day at sally. But I like relaxers that incorporate butters or oils in the formula. Hth

    I just relaxed my hair last night it feels so good I've been trying the natural thing since my freshman year but with thick and newly big chopped hair it's hard for me to get the slicked down look that I like to wear when my hair is short

    I mean no disrespect first of all, but I was just curious as to what it is your goal is. I mean I'm sure everyone wants healthy hair and your hair looks nice and shiny but from every single video I've watched, your hair seems to relatively stay the same length...like do you always cut it to that length or is your hair just not retaining length?

      Right! Maybe try something protective or health to show young ladies how to grow hair....
